Were those real cops? Or maybe Scientologists outfitted in riot gear. Available to any civilian from a police outfitters. They didnt look very professional in their dispersal either. They need more drill. Just an idea.

Oh man, my friend and I came up there from Macon today and we where amazed that a fucking riot squad was called out. As much as I saw we where protesting peacefully, I just can't believe they went that far. I thought we where going to start getting tear-gassed, pepper-balled or bean-bagged or a combination of all three.
I just can't believe they wasted tax money like that. Tsk.

Yeah, In Albany we faced the 50mph wind and ice cold temps and hypothermia, plus scientologists all around taking our pictures, but you guys faced the F- RIOT SQUAD. Talk about intimidation.

Probably because the south has a long and storied tradition of people burning down churches for no good reason. Not that this bunch were planning anything of that sort, but I'm not *totally* surprised with the police presence. (Also, CoS is known to hire off-duty cops to work security, and DeKalb County cops LOVE to do off-duty work 'cause they don't get paid jack squat at their real job.) Not that anyone in their right mind would try crossing that street - Atlanta traffic is a mother.
