  • fake

  • EARGASM

  • I'm sorry, but the 2 booms were edited into the video with an audio tool. If you examine the audio waveforms the splices are obvious...still a very cool video.

  • OH MY GOD, IT'S NOT A F/A-18 BUT A F-14!!!!!

  • This is not to be confused with fool's videos where they think that just because they saw sonic condensation it means the plane broke the sound barrier... time to let them know what supersonic really is.

  • true, the f22 is a beast, but they already canclled production bc it is too expensive and no other country even comes close to having something as good. On the otherhand, my dad works at boeing and they just won a contract to build 150 more of these bad boys. Did you know we have never lost one in battle?

  • how do you hear the sonic boom before the plane passes if it went supersonic? maybe the sound is faster in the video.

  • power of America. F-18 superhornet is the best!!

  • f-18 superhornet...but before the sonic boom occured what was that noise 2 bombs

  • This is the best one because you hear both of the booms. Very nice video.

  • @skoobdaer i thought there was only one

  • haha smthej your wrong. The people aren't standing right next to the plane as it is passing by so the gap between the two sonic booms gets larger the further away from the object you are. Stop trying to say this video is fake when it's obviously not.

  • he came extremly close but slowed down at the last milli second because he would have gotten in to loads of trouble for hurting or even killing people

  • Speed of sound at sea level: 340 m/s

Time between the two booms: 0.25 s

Distance traveled between the two booms 0.25 times 340 meters = 85 meters, which should be the length of the aircraft. Length of F/A-18 is about 17 meters. RESULT: The sonic boom of a different aircraft is recorded on top of this video. (=fake)

  • you are a mega nerd.

  • Out of all of them this is my favourite, because of the sonic boom, it's so clean and tidy.

  • that was cool

  • actually the f-14 is/was/will forever be, the shit.

  • Hooraaahhh to that!!!!

  • fuck ya man

  • i dont know man that F-22 is beast

  • hell ya super cruse

  • because of the planes shape...

  • why was there 2 booms?

    thanks.

  • There is always 2 booms one at the nose and one at the end of the plane.

  • one for the nose, one for the tail.

  • Fuckin sweet as fuck!!!!

  • that thing was moving he bout to go shoot down a enemy plane lol

  • Dude, sound travel rather slow. when i was waiting for the buss one day, some dudes about 100 meters away was playing football and slammed the ball in the ground so that it went far up in the air and when it went down and hit the ground it took like 2-3 seconds for the sound to reach me.

  • doppler effect

  • same here, one time someone was playing basketball and every time he would bounce the ball it would take like 2 seconds to reach me!

  • Check out the space shuttle breaking the sound barrier.

  • Very crazy!

  • but its not comeing from the engine

  • Okay people, listen!

The Raptor and the Typhoon are both excellent aircraft. Hi-tech, reliable, and deadly. No doubt, these planes are probably in the top five list of the world's best aircraft.

BUT...if they were EVER to engage in combat, which they probably never will, the F-22 would emerge victorious simply because it has stealth on its side. If the Eurofighter had stealth it may be a tie, but it doesn't.

So lets calm down, accept facts, and stop arguing like 8 year olds.

  • well said F-22 is the best

  • @madscientistwaqas

Actually, if the Typhoon had stealth on it's side, it would win, simply because it is more manouverable, the elevator on the front can go 85 degrees.

  • omg this is amazing!

  • I lieked it when the plain made the big cloud from the bak of its engine

  • that is actualy a vapor cloud coming off the wings and fusalage (i hope i spelled that right)

  • Jesus Christ, Can't we just agree that they're both good planes? Everywhere I go for jet fighters on the internet, all I hear is this futile argument. There's no point arguing because the planes aren't gonna face each other in the air.

  • well said

  • heintze168 the eurofighter is the best fighter plane out there at the moment. get your facts right

  • NOPE YOU ARE WRONG THE EURO PIECE OF SHIT IS ONLY CHEAPER NOT BETTER F-22 IS THE BEST PLANE OUT THERE AS A FIGHT CAUSE ITS 5th GENERATION EUROSHIT IS 4.5 SOO F-22 IS THE BEST FIGHTER SO YOU GET YOUR FACTS RIGHT DIPSHIT

  • nice fighter jet(f-18), just like the f-15 and f-14. the french and the german when it comes to building one of the best dogfight planes ,can't compete head-to-head against this three. even the f-22 raptor their eurofighter can't beat in my opinion

  • f22 is American...and its better

  • did i just read the Eurofighter can defeat state of the art stealth technologic multi-mission dog fighter the F-22?..naww..it cant be..i know i did not read what i thought i just read..

  • Whay did it do a double boom, I thought it was only one boom, when its breaking like the sonic boom? serious question

  • lol i dont know but this is a stupid answer someone was getting shot

  • you can clearly hear the double boom , made from the tip of the plane breaking and the rear pressures 'mixing'

  • kwl

  • What you heard in this video WAS a sonic boom.

If you will read back in some of the postings, this flight was made during an outing of military families on a short cruise on a carrier. Most Naval bases have these family days every year and offer a demonstration like this. The laws regarding super sonic flight don't apply once you are at sea. The only exemption to supersonic restriction is during an actual interception. There have been a few all around the U.S. since 9-11

  • Very interesting! At what point was he faster than the speed of sound?

  • About 1200km/h... In miles its about over 700.

  • It was well before this video started. We saw some of the compression waves as he moved through denser air though.

  • BUT....why is it the "boom", as many are calling it, heard before the plane passes the camera?

  • I'm arguing that I agree with Rocket and even more, your 747 scenario was a bogus attempt to prove something different. Which in turn, led me to my VW bologna!

  • wow

  • Cool.. at last a good !BOOM! when plane broke sound barrier. I am in pilot training and I will break a sound barrier, when I got wings..

  • That's not a sonic boom nor was it a breach of the sound barrier...He was at max 3 to 4oo feet off the ground not loud enough at all....That low..Window's , Ear Drum's and Blood vessel's would have been popped and people wouldnt have been cheering quite the oppisite on the ground in pain screaming. 10 year Air Force Vet and by no mean's was that a sonic boom.

  • I also rather suspect that, were he to attempt mach speed at such low altitudes, the likelihood of the jet disintegrating would be a very real possibility.

  • Disintegrating could be an issue but unlikely not to mention there would be no mic left or lense to shoot the rest of the vid. Clearly the lense to the camera would have shattered by the pressure of the blast ..maybe a finger hitting the mic ....dont know what it was but clearly wasnt the sound barrier.

  • The received wisdom - at least that which I've received from the pilots during my time in the navy - is that the danger of break up is a heightened reality when manoeuvring at such speeds whilst under a certain ceiling height. And incidentally, I concur with you - that sound is NOT a sonic boom; I've been privy to a vast number of jet fighters breaking the sound barrier during my time at sea, and it's a distinctive, unmistakable sound. Altitude combined with speed renders them invisible as well.

  • Yep right on all count's I have also seen it broken at least half a dozen time's while on a carrier. If memory serve's correct military law prohibit's sonic flight over the continental United State's and there are strict rule's and regulation's for air show's and deminstrtion's , might be a bit rusty on that one so dont qoute me lol . I would say due to the "vapor cloud: forming he is around .08 maybe .09 but not over .

  • Interesting, regarding your reference to US military law pertaining to flight restrictions over the continental United States. I'm not American, and as such didn't serve with the US Navy; I therefore defer to your wisdom on this count.

(Despite this, I've seen more than my fair share of US military activity, both maritime and air, albiet from a safe & respectable distance!)

  • Yea I know it use to be that way reguarding SSF on the United State's it was strictly forbidden UNLESS it was Military air space or international air space...and I do believe that there was a certian ceiling height you had to be at to go sonic .

  • I know this is true of commercial airliners which was brought about when America and UK where fighting to produce the first commercial supersonic airliner. UK/France won with concorde then shortly after America got upset and put down this law. Would not think it applies to millitary.

  • please explain the noise we hear then?????

  • Actually it was a sonic boom.. Sound and cloud. I´´ll proof that plane broke soundbarrier

  • Dale the law was in place far before ommerical air even knew the word sonic exsisted . Military aircraft are the only fixed wing aircraft that can break the soundbarrier...since the Concorde was taken out of the sky. Aviation rule's state that a sonic speed can only be flown over international air space. DeathUnlimited that was not a sonic boom. Let me dig out my handbook and read the rules and reg reguarding sonic boom..Like I said the vapor cloud does not mean sonic flight. 13 years USAF.

  • Your handbook will do nothing to prove it was not a sonic boom. It is quite possible that they are doing a demonstration from a carrier while out to sea. Pretty sure I heard the two booms (commonly referred to as Sonic Booms). Military aircraft are not the only fixed wing aircraft that go supersonic. Space shuttle, other NASA projects working on different type of engines such as the ram jet. Also, if you really wanted to, you could put a 747 at full power and a dive and get super sonic.

  • You can get a volkswagen bug with hurricane force winds behind it and a 12% grade made of ice being pushed by a rocket, but is it a supersonic bug if it gets to speed? Rocket was stating facts! The question would be was the jet abiding by the rules of supersonic flight and flying over international air space! I'm with ya Rocket!

  • What are you arguing? Do you even know? There are no real rules regarding supersonic flight over international waters. I was simply correcting a statement he made that only military aircraft could go supersonic. That was false, I corrected that. The question is whether or not that airplane is going supersonic. No rulebook is going to tell you that, you just have to know what an aircraft looks and sounds like when it hits mach 1. Rocket doesnt think it was supersonic, I did.

  • now thats what your going to hear if its supersonic

  • I'd like to ask something, maybe someone here has the answer.

Why is it that sometimes, like this video for instance, is there TWO sonic booms? I've also noticed them on videos of NASA's orbiters as they approach. I'm guessing it has to do with speed or altitude. Can someone fill me in please?

  • there are always two booms! but the the distance from the plane to your ear (or the cam) is to far away--> DOPPLER-EFFECT !

  • You Hear to booms, the first pressure wave from the nose, the second from the tail wing cross sections.

  • speed

  • The second one is the sound of the pilot's hand bouncing off of the canopy as he ejaculates.

I'd be hard too, if I was driving that thing at that speed!

  • lol

  • how can i save this video on my laptop?

  • You might use a program like tubesucker.

  • how can i get this video n my psp?

  • use gullible sucker

  • lol

  • @Sreybk Sounds like a cheap porn video.

  • @wagjati you manage to get this video downloaded?

  • sweet sound

  • lol F-22 ADF OWNZ hyper sonic loooll and super sonic

  • ................so?

  • I know , right !

  • hyper sonic.. NOT

  • Sounds like someone shot 2 howitzer rounds or something.

  • NO FUCKIN SHIT... what a stupid thing to say. who would even think that they could out run any type of plane... especially ones that go fuckin super sonic. nice vid by the way

  • Well if you're in another jet that can go supersonic and you have a head start... But then you have to hope they don't have any medium or long range anti air missiles...

  • lets put it this way u cant outrun that so your screwed

  • you cant even here it approaching lol

    awsome

  • nice but love seeing a big plane like the b1b go supersonic blow everything away

  • Sweet!

  • hate to be in that plane while at that speed MAN i wouldnt be able to move XD

  • Actually the pilots hardly hear it if atall (remember, where they are sat is infront of the engines and the sound from the engines is already behind them and won't really catch up)

And its not a sudden thing, you would be able to move... not like a rocket sled which would send you back as it is just phasing between subsonic and supersonic... a difference as small as an extra mile per hour.

  • actually, you could move normally

  • I wanna say going SUPERSONIC!! while flying a jet that is my dream

  • probably broke ur ears too!

  • p-51 is da best!i mean da best!i watched it on discovery channel lol...i think it took out 21 komets during the korean war

  • Even a paper plane could take out a Comet. Comets, just like Chinese toys, are lethal to the user.

  • that is aswome. i really want to see it first hand.

  • hmm, my dirt bike does that alot, only difference, i dont break the sound barrier, but i produce smoke similar to that lol.

  • check your muffler...lol

  • haha funny!

  • The speed of sound is dependent on atmospheric conditions — it isn't static. According to Wikipedia it fluctuates:

the speed of sound describes how much distance such a wave travels in a certain amount of time. In dry air at 20 °C (68 °F), the speed of sound is 343 m/s (1235 km/h, or 770 mph, or 1129 ft/s).

  • so the other video i just watched is right. there are TWO sonic booms. one formed by the nose and one formed at the end when the tail passes. thats so freaking awesome

  • I think its 732 Mph??

  • i think 760ish....

    but close enough

and to every douche bag here

the F-22 and F-35b (Joint Strike Fighter)

are the most advanced fighters in the world

the F-22 would kick anythings ass

    but a transformer....

  • same-same ya those are the best fighters but The all-time best fighter is a p51 mustang =D.

  • I'd say a 4 way tie between the P-51D, the F6F Hellcat, the Spitfire, and the Bf 109. I can't choose, they're all so great in their own ways!

  • robots in plain clothes

  • It depends on the air temperature. The speed of sound is the square root of temperature multiplied by a couple of constants.

  • Dang im impressed!

  • This is because he loaded up the afterburners before igniting them. It's for show.

  • No it was a sound barrier....wow

  • i seriously don't know what apolloxr1 meaned with that Spain stuff... anyway F-18 ROCKS

  • Oh yeah..hes movin there...

  • give me fuel give me war give me weapons to destoy>>§.Tn

  • Shock cone/condensation

  • It's exhaust because the dumb pilot was using MAX AC even though it was almost 95 degrees that day

  • I love that sound!!!

  • Sickest sonic boom ever!

  • yea but he wouldnt feel like a g-force or anything?

  • As long as he's not accelerating or decelerating no. If he's going at a constant speed, he's just fine. xD

  • no. u fell g force when your accelerating, not because of your speed...

  • Sounded like somebodies tires blew out lol And yeah that F/A-18 was hauling ass! HELL YEAH!

  • i wonder what the piolt is feeling???

  • Chuck Yeager relates the experience of breaking the sound barrier in his autobiography. Said it was really rough at transonic speed, then suddenly becomes silky smooth after breaking mach 1. Of course planes nowadays probably handle the transition more gracefully.

  • read that too when i was a kid. really great novel.

  • woww ese soy yo xDD

  • thats sweet

  • Dude... that is totally freakin' awesome

  • Awsome vid!

  • ho ly shit

  • aileron reversal, sonic boom... I love all that weird high speed shit!!

  • BOOM BOOM

  • sweet!

  • that is sick man. i love sonic booms

  • i luv the sound

  • f-22 raptor all the way

  • ROFL

My Jedi Star fighter can pwn every single aircraft in every aspect. I even installed a hyper drive that goes warp 6. (6x the speed of light) Anyone want to compete with that?

  • Keep telling yourself that, acid guy.

  • Зааб no match for my TIE Interceptor ;P

  • fuck the americans fuck the ruskie's mon the SCOTISH FUCKING YAAAAAAAAAALDEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEY

  • syop complainin it already happen and enjoy the fucking video geez

  • omfg

  • more better wow dumbass

  • yer pretty gay learn how to talk so that your anti american bullshit makes sense and then maybe your russian self will at least look smarter

  • a repost from tandem0shapecharged

Australian Air Force said that Russian Su-30 Mki is FAR more better than F-16

In Aero India 2006 Indian pilotes OWNED American pilots in F-16, F-15 and F-18 palnes in EVERY AIR COBAT THEY HAD!

    Indians used SU-30 Mki,SU-27 and MiG-29 planes!

HAHA owned! nothing more satisfying than american junk jets getting blewn into insy bitsy tiny pieces!

The BEST PLANES TODAY ARE SU-37,SU-35,MiG-35 AND SUKHOI PAK-FA super-stealth 5th generation interceptor!

  • Um thats where you are wrong...those planes are a match for the F-16 but not the F-15 or F-22, those are not the best jets anymore, One f-22 took on 5 F-15's in a training exercise and killed them all

  • Actually those numbers went as high as 12 on 1 and the 22 took them all. Because of the inability of radar to lock-up the 22, the long range radars were useless. The on board guns, which also use radar, also couldn't lock onto a 22. Basically, if you don't have stealth, the 22 will kill you long before you know it's there. The use of long wave radar which could detect the F-117's is no longer effective since the RAM is improved on the B2 and F-22.

  • Yeah ive seen accounts where theirs 2 on 14-18 at once

  • so what, just cuz someone is better at one thing doesnt mean they are the best at everything. the US has far better superiority in a lot of other military aspects.

  • you know what you remind me of?? youre like the little kid that gets beat up and owned at every single thing. then you find one little thing youre finally better at and you act all snobby about it, not even realizing that you still suck at everything else. stop copy pasting, its annoying a hell.

  • but the raptor can surpass anyplane.
