  • What was great about this and other 45s at the time, was that the B side was often a continuation of the longer version of the song or an instrumental version, minus the vocals, Extremely cool ! Thanks for posting!

  • BAD ASS!!.........

  • Boy do I remember this song when I was a kid. My sister had the 45. The label was green with black letters. My sister did have good taste, come to think of it. I'm 47 and music when I was little was so much better than the top 40 stuff is now. Just my opinion.

  • @taffy2003 My sister also loved this record. She'd be playing it as loud as her close and play record player would go. All of us kids liked this song. I was 14 when this song came out.

  • Boy do I remember this song when I was a kid. My sister had the 45. The label was green with black letters. My sister did have good taste, come to think of it.

i would gladly give my life to live in the time were real music was made...

  • Atlantic records is the shit!! Love it! From funky-de-mcfunkfunk to musical masters like Led Zeppelin. I'm a 17 year old from Wales but the 70's and 80's America was the pace to be.

  • Almost forgot: ARCHIE BELL & THE DRELLS - Tighten Up.

  • If interested in more instrumental soul songs, try BOOKER T. - Hip-Hug-Her, METERS - Cissy Strut, MANU DIBANGO - Soul Makossa, CLIFF NOBLES - The Horse, HUGH MASAKELA - Grazin' In The Grass, BARKAYS - Soul Finger, YOUNG-HOLT UNLIMITED - Soulful Strut, MAR-KEYS - Last Night, NITE-LITERS - K-Jee, BILLY PRESTON - Outa Space, and MARVIN GAYE - T. Plays It Cool. There's more, but ain't enough space to name 'em all.

  • I remember hearing this when i was about 10yrs. old. My mom and dad played this on the Hi-Fi a parties, when my aunt and uncle and family came over for card parties that use to last all night. Bid wiz was the thing back then. The Good old days!!!!!!!!!

  • First time i heard this song was in a nightclub in Derby town centre 1975 , i was 16 on a football hooligan tour with the BORO frontline? they played it loads of times in the night club, Pernod was 30p a double special offer, ive never drank it since? just heard the record first time since 1975.....It took me back to the night club straight away,i could taste the Pernod? magic.

  • THIS IS THE JAM!!!!!

  • I love this song, thanks for posting it! I've been trying to find other old Bahamain songs. Can you put "Oh naughty Johnny" on here please.

  • I love this song. The 70's is still my favorite decade for music, and probably film as well. My complaint with the past decades' music is its lifelessness compared to tunes like this. Songs just drone on & on with no energy, no SOUL - like they're dead.

  • Keep listening to the old greatest! They have a message in there music. Plus back in those days it was about having fun and everyone loved there fellow man, peace.

  • Holy Moly!! I haven't heard this in decades! This is music...made with real instruments. LOVE the 70's!!!! I was a kid, but our house was always filled with music....Daddy was a musician and not a day went by without music.....cleaning the house and doin yard work with the speakers blasting the best the radio and albums had to offer.....and the 70's had tons of great music!!!! Thanks for posting this classic...Muah!!

  • OOOOOOOOOH Yes!

  • Ahhhhhh the 70's there will never be a decade like it again....! I'm soooo glad I was there to live in it, even tho' I was a kid I can remember some things ~ people seemed so much more relaxed back then {from a kids pov}.....!

  • @tricianfred I totally agree......i miss it all the time.

  • Dowwnload the audio from this clip at soundnabber doht cohm.

  • where are you my nassau girl?

  • I'm feeling good now. Thanks for posting.

  • I'm only 11, and I actually been listening to music from the early 1900's to the 1980's and I perfer the music through out those 80 years than the bs they produce today. All they do is talk about sex in todays music and frankly I don't understand why a mojority of people my age listen to shit like that. It's garbage. I love Sam Cooke, Cab Calloway, Duke Ellington, Mercer Ellington, Curtis Mayfield, The Impressions, Billy Steward, Jimmy Hendrix, James Brown, Marvin Gaye and the list goes on

  • @jessica100200

  • @jessica100200 Ata girl Jessica! You'll learn sooooo much from the stories in this amazing music. Keep jammin, rockin, singin along, and groove with it. Much Luv!

  • @jessica100200 There is alot of the same good music being made today. You just have to dig a little deeper.

  • @jessica100200 That is awesome!!.. Im the same way, I do not like todays music

  • @jessica100200 How did you catch this one? Check out their other hit Come Down Baby. Also check out a group called Cymande.

  • @jessica100200 with you brother, although im tripple your age and double as drunk. you will have a difficult live, but keep the spirit up and prosper (40 backspace on that line :) )

  • @jessica100200 - Jessica you must have been on the earth before - Your amazing taste will stand you well as you swim through the shark-infested waters that we call today's music scene. You must have a very knowledgable mentor to have helped you find the right path. Keep on digging through the crates for those quality tunes.

  • @kevthe45man thank you, I did have a mentor, she first taught me about the sweet sounds of Sam Cooke and then Curtis Mayfield...then after that I taught myself and ever since I've loved music from the early 1900's to the late 1970's...ever since, I've hated music from that point and on.

  • @jessica100200 Don't Worry, I was born in 1989 and I understand you're plight

  • @VahnClemens Lol, your 9 years older than me, great! :)

  • @jessica100200 I shake your hand and send u much respect for being your young age you are and having the most amazing quality taste - I always believe it's what your parents listen to that influence you ;)

  • @PM1970 Thanks soo much! I actually learned about music like this all by myself. My teacher first taught me about a couple of artist and ever since, I've been obsessed with music like this.

  • @jessica100200 if your are only 11 you need to clean up your language... clean it up like the music you say you like is clean...

  • @ahunter1003...ahhh, how old are you? Whether you're older than me or not, I bet you use the same language, everyone does. And I'm not justifying that it's right to use profanity, but that type of word usage will always be around, and who's to say it's right or wrong?

  • @jessica100200 .. the language may hav bn round 4ever & ever1 (most ever1) uses it but 4 a 11 yr old u should't... as old as u r as young as u r/ show respect 2 get respect. I'm glad u've an ol soul & can 'preciate the finer things n life but dont get old b4 ur time

  • @ahunter1003 Like I said before, Who's to say it's right or wrong? It's a type of form of speech you use, and most people rather use it to express themselves. and that's a typo- I'm not 11, I'm 13. Still, I'm not saying it's right, because truthfully, profanity can be used in so many ways and 96.7% of the time, it is used as a form of expression. And I don't know how old you are, probably older than me but, stop...because you and me both know you use profanity. Quit being a hypocrite

  • @jessica100200 Well said, young lady. Excellent taste in music by you.

  • @jessica100200 @ very well done Jessie! greetings from Roma Italia..:))

  • @jessica100200 I wish all 11 year olds were as musically educated as you! Keep it up! :)
