Solidus acted against the Patriots when he started the Shadow Moses Incident by sending his agent, Ocelot, to talk Liquid into taking over the base and Metal Gear REX for himself. After Snake took care of everything, Solidus aka George Sears, was forced to resign by The Patriots and they were planning to kill him, but with the help of Ocelot, he went into hiding, until MGS2.

What the hell is up with Snake doing a backflip and kicking his rifle into the air and doing a stupid spin and magically hitting Wolf when she was already aiming her rifle at him? Or destroying huge chunks of debre with a grenade or a stinger missle.

As for Liquid and his shitty grasp of genetics- I just go with the explanation offered in The Last Days of Foxhound- Liquid's an idiot, and Big Boss fed him bullshit just to get him to try harder and overcome his inferiority complex.

I'm not complaining about Twin Snakes. I love the original on PS1 but why the hell is Liquid jumping around and Gray Fox dodging every single thing (Matrix Style) It really brings the cheesyness factor up by about 1000x. There was no need to add more flips for Gray Fox and no need for Liquid to balance on the fence. Really no reason. Still an awesome game though.

IMO: This could have been a flawless remake but, compared to the original: 1) voice acting sucks (Liquid and G. Fox being the worst examples), 2) there are times when Snake's on the verge of being a douche, with certain reactions. They almost ruined the coolest fictional character of all times. 3) Original soundtrack? 4) Anyone else got the feeling they tried too much to turn it into another standard american blockbuster? Was Hideo on vacation or something? Anyway, decent attempt nonetheless.

I always thought that dominant recessive thing talked about here is ABSOLUTE BULLSHIT. Being "dominant" is just relative to the "recessive" allele of the same genes. There is no guarantee that being "dominant" means you have the "good" genes (good for being a soldier in the modern era). A lot of recessive genes can be great for that purpose too. I expected the Gamecube version to have editted this part along with many other dialogues :C Can't believe Kojima totally FAILED in simple Genetics.

Actually Kojima was correct but so are you. It was liquid who was wrong and you hear the correction by ocelot after the credits. Liquid with the reccesive genes always had the superior solider genes which is probably why he survived so much.

No, Ocelot subverted that Liquid had it BACKWARDs. Ocelot didn't imply that Liquid's idea of recessive genes and dominant genes was wrong. He said he just got the peeps wrong. That shows that the creator got it wrong in the beginning due to lack of understanding of genetics.

Actually, it's you the one who got it wrong, as cubex55 mentioned. The whole point of it is that Liquid got everything wrong by assuming what you just corrected. Liquid THOUGHT that by having the dominant genes of Big Boss, Solid Snake was like the "chosen one" to be the stronger of all his clones, but it was actually himself, the one with the recessive traits, who was the stronger soldier, genetically speaking. Many make your mistake just because the don't wait and watch till after the credits.

Ppl can be so dumb, thumbing the wrong things. Really now, if Ocelot simply said "actually Liquid's idea on genetics was totally wrong." then yeah, Hideo probably knew genetics. But no, Ocelot just said "actually, Solid Snake was the one with the recessive genes" meaning Hideo didn't think the idea that dominant genes meant "superior" genes was a folly. Therefore, from the end of the credits (of course I played everything >:C till the end of credits) it is seen Hideo didn't know genetics.

No dioseolo has it right. Ocelot never said snake had recessive genes ever, he makes a point at the end saying the inferior one won (snake) but that doesn't mean his genes were the recessive ones. superior\inferior genes are completely different to having dominant/recessive genes.

Your whole argument is flawed because Ocelot never said "Solid Snake was the one with the recessive genes" or anything remotely close to that. His actual quote is "The inferior one was the winner after all", and then he goes on and elaborates more and says "Until the very end, Liquid thought he was the inferior one." Plus, if you know a little about genetics you can tell that indeed Snake has the genetic traits and Liquid the recessive, since Snake looks exactly like Big Boss and Liquid doesn't.
