  • codex and lotus flower are the best songs of this albom

  • I again and again listen to this album... I lose space and time... It is magnificent!!!!

  • Holy fucking shit Every Song is amazing.

  • This album has grown on me like resin in a pipe - slowly but surely. At first I couldn't get in to it but I know I love Radiohead so I kept playing it. I been playing it from start to finish over and over at work today and now I cant stop, it sounds like all the songs together make one - I love it!!!

  • Thanx a lot

  • I need to have this forever...considering that this is currently my favorite album. (Not to mention, the first physical CD that I've actually bought in a while) Infinite thank-you's for this, OP.

  • It's so interesting that it shows the overtones too, but I guess that makes perfect sense

  • Amazing. Always.

  • The end of "Feral" looks three dimensional.

  • great album. what Spectrogram software are you using for this?

  • the best 37:33 minutes of my life...

  • this was beautiful.

  • im gona get shit fucked on ketamine then listen to this properly

  • i just love this album!!!

  • it's like i've fallen out of bed from a long and vivid dream

  • @MrThom1Thom

    I love that lyric :)

  • The future of music. My grandchildren will hold these guys in the same esteem as the Beatles

  • @jmw599 oh please -.-

  • @jmw599 Well rather the futur of "pop" music... But that's what is amazing. Radiohead manages to be endorsed and loved by litterally millions of people while not being into mainstream stuff. Still i would say it is still kinda pop-ish music in a way. But, god. If it is, it is diamond mounted golden made "pop" music. I love Radiohead.

  • the following equation just about sums it up: compelling sounds + pleasure = good fucking music + genius = radiohead

  • I feel like I just had sex. Eight times. In a row. O_o

  • Bloom - hurts to listen to, Morning mr magpie - fuck yeah, Little by little - eerie yet sweet, Feral - meh, Lotus Flower-quite nice, Codex-best track, Give up the ghost-nice harmonies but dragging my mood down a bit now, separator-again a bit bored by now. Verdict: seen better from Radiohead but ok.

  • After listening to the whole thing, I would still say Kid A and In Rainbows are my favorite albums. Although I did really enjoy Codex and Give up the Ghost. And Separator wasn't bad either. I will have to give the album a few more listens to decide where it fits.

  • @Furthur805 I dont like treefingers, it is so sad. i think Kid A is an album with a lot of sad songs, i like in rainbows a lot though :)

  • Hearing this album makes me cry when I realize I've gone my entire life without listening to something this incredible.

  • This album is blowing my mind. I listen to it all day at work.

  • WHAT THE FUCK I thought there was nothing more perfect RH could create after the In Rainbows phase but I was absolutely wrong. This is my favorite Radiohead album, the feelings evoked by these sounds while I sit in the dark and listen are incredible and indescribable. Radiohead is no Beatles. This music is from a different fucking universe..

  • This album has a more dance vibe to me, not complaining, Radiohead is versatile, just another great album.

  • Thank you, Radiohead.

  • I think you can appreciate the songs just when you know the outstandingly intelligent work, with that Radiohead created the songs

    (sry 4 my english)

  • Listen to in 720, you can pick so much more of the nuances in the syncopation.

  • This took time to grow on me... but now I can't stop listening to it! Perfect chillout music.

  • LISTEN TO IT IN 720P MAKES BIG DIFFERENCE :)

  • me gustó esta tamboriza!

  • "If you think this is over

    Then you're wrong

If you think this is over

    Then you're wrong"

  • Bloom is a beautiful song!

  • mortel de chez mortel

  • I think this album starts out great and then turns very mundane. You know...I feel it's just a little bit weaker than all their other albums. Then again, I felt the same way about In Rainbows and now it's one of my favorites.

This is probably going to be one of those albums that grow on me over time.

  • @SuperiFox wow, i bet you feel accomplished. how mature of you to smash someone's attempt at lightheartedness. i bet all your friends think you're so wonderful. how about next time you decide to be a raging idiot, you tell your opinion to someone you know. or at the very least someone who seems to care :)

  • I like that the beats in the spectrometer end up looking like a lot of trees, it's consistent with the theme of the album

  • to the 9 people who disliked this:

    thank you for your honesty.

now we can hunt you :)

  • @missjanielou oh shut the fuck up. you aren't clever in the slightest.

  • These guys are a poormans Tom Vek

  • @vicprobey YAY TROLLS! :D

  • @vicprobey

that's pretty invalid considering that Tom Vek came second

  • @vicprobey wow this may be a shit radiohead album but you sir have horrible taste in music. what makes tom vek so much better? that he sounds like beck? oh shit wait youre a troll! nevermind...

  • @vicprobey LOL, get a life and stop trollng here.

  • this album is so damn good. it's like, a fusion of electronic beats/thom yorke's raw vocals/intertwining lyrics. astounding.

i'd like to humbly offer my acoustic cover of "lotus flower", which is up on my channel! i am almost sure that any fan of this album/past radiohead albums will enjoy it! please feel free to give some feedback (positive or constructive criticism). thanks for tuning in, and thank you radiohead for such crazy good tunes!!

  • Is it broken??? It sounds like crap.

  • love the song Lotus Flower, but i hope they come up with an alternate video. Mr. Yorke's dancing is kind of disturbing. (no "lol", I'm serious.)

  • @MrJuvefrank If you'd only understand.

The Lotus Flower video shows Thom expressing himself through the art of dance. It's a wonderful video, you should be greatful.

  • @MrJuvefrank it's beautiful. and it pleases the thomosexuals.

  • these guys are very clever beatifull melodies they seem to be evolving very nicely hope they stay just as they are

  • gonna go steal this now

  • PURE ETHEREAL GOODNESS

but i guess i'm gonna miss the old pop bite

  • great!

  • Holy fucking shit Codex is amazing.

  • @Youdumbkids You are easily impressed.

  • bloom is a fuckin drug :)

  • loveit

  • When I first listened to this, it was on in the background and it seemed a little off to me. Then I really listened to it, all the way through and wow, I'm just ... speechless. This is the best album I've heard in years.

  • i wonder what their next single will be. maybe separator?

  • Love it! It's music man, to each their own!

  • *sigh* This time I didn't like Radioheads new album. I wonder why? I'm disappointed I guess...

  • This doesnt suck as badly as their last effort

  • @TibetanBlueMonk You means In Rainbows? That album was great, what are you talking about?

  • Everyone SHUT UP I'm trying to enjoy music.

  • suck on that muse!

  • @skrufymoo Dude... how was that comment even relevant?...

  • @Metroid00x i see muse and radiohead as being in direct competition because they produce music in a similar genre. and radiohead are winning, i think.

  • @skrufymoo similar genre?!!?!? They are very different. Also, there is no competition: there is every band in the world, then there is 100 miles of nothingness and then comes Radiohead at the top. I love Muse for their albums Showbiz, Origin of Symmetry, Absolution and Black Holes. But have you even listened to the last one? Its so bad, you can't even name them in the same sentence with Radiohead.

  • How about we listen to the music if we like it, and if we don't then we don't listen to it? It's not like were all gonna agree on everything anyways so how about just to each his own and all be dropped.

  • am I on drugs right now? Nahh, that's just Radiohead working it's magic:'D

  • and, My final comment on this, I'm not a radiohead freak, but I would buy this album for sure.

  • One of my favorite bands ever. Thanks for posting this, will be buying the album for sure.

  • I think this album opens in the best way. I love Bloom, especially those first few seconds, I could repeat them over and over

  • The place I never want to live is where you people are.

  • stop arguing@!!!!!!

  • @CloudArchitect So 'Radiohead' are expressing what it is to be 'Radiohead', and that makes it great? If that's all you want from music, then fine. Great music should be memorable in some way, either through the use of harmony, melody, rhythm, or lyrics, the 'building blocks' of music. I don't hear anything memorable in this, it strikes me as pretty ordinary, and one dimensional. You will disagree because you are a fan. Critical awareness comes from listening to all sorts of music from way back.

  • @oxonfineartist It's been two weeks of you arguing on this video, you really don't have a life do you?

  • @R4ggy No I don't, how very astute of you to notice.

  • All music relies on rhythm, harmony and melody. Technical ability in itself is not enough though, as technique without imagination produces uninteresting music. What you have here is monotonous, meandering sound, all of which is forgotten the minute it finishes. It would be great to hear some exciting modulation, rather than waffling about over one chord. Groups like 'Amon Duul', 'Can' 'Van der Graaf Generator' et al were boring people with similar stuff in the 60's.

  • @CloudArchitect I only came here to see what the fuss was about! A friend told me there was a hilarious vid called 'Lotus Flower', of an incredibly ugly little bloke jigging around in an idiotic manner, like some ones sweaty uncle at a wedding . I then learned that the music he was flapping around to was his, so I came here to listen to the album. That's all. It would be a dull world if we all liked the same stuff, wouldn't it! I like music with harmonic, rhythmic and melodic interest.

  • @oxonfineartist Don't you know that *bloke* is THOM YORKE, KING OF INTERESTING MUSIC AROUND HERE!

At least this is not some Eminem crap that's going around YouTube...

  • Are you seriously serious? Only to see what the fuss was about? then Why are you complaining?

  • could everyone just shut up and enjoy the album?

  • @YoArtem Is impossible to enjoy, the album sucks donkeys.

  • @SirVilla THEN GO AWAY

  • Génial !!! !! !

  • omg person who posted this video is baus!

  • @oxonfineartist

Haha hey man great job getting all of these people riled up. You in a way make an even bigger point directed towards them: quit reading youtube comments and getting butthurt just because the one who made the comment has a different opinion than you. All of these people took time out of their day just to tell a complete stranger to fuck off. If they truly love RH as much as they say they do, they would just quit typing and enjoy the new album.

  • Beautiful music.

  • thanks for posting!

  • Definitely not their best, but how far they've come from Pablo Honey.

Bloom and Codex best tracks I believe, are they not?

  • meh....I'm a Radiohead fan but their gravitation to experimental instrumental doesn't really suit my fancy.

  • Boring crap!

  • @SirVilla Im sure you have no idea what good music is

  • @androide551 The song "Creep" is good music... this is garbage.

  • @SirVilla

    twat

  • @SirVilla you sir, are a poppy moron, getting sucked out by the music industry.

  • @SirVilla

    @SirVilla

Check out this old Creep cover - it's amazing!

    /watch?v=70rm31ClOiE

  • a lot of comparison to the eraser, i'm hearing a lot from bodysong as well. especially the percussion.

  • @jorgepeterbarton YES!

Seriously, YES YES YES YES YES!!!!

  • maybe i'm just slow, but i don't get the spectrogram. what's special about it? it's pretty though.

  • Comment removed

  • @darlantro ooohhhh, i see. thanks.

  • @nadiyahak Sure! Codex looks really cool... a lot of swooping sounds 'flange' effects messing with the piano's sound, and you can see they cut the top frequencies off except for Thom's vocal harmonics.

  • @nadiyahak Sure!

Codex @ 22:36 looks really cool... a lot of swooping sounds and 'flange' effects messing with the sound, ...and you can see they fade the top frequencies off except for Thom's vocal harmonics.

  • @nadiyahak Its a way to show sounds visually; x-axis is time and y-axis is frequency of sound.

The x-axis is timed on this one so that new sounds appear at right as soon as their played, and slowly slide over. The y-axis (frequency) on this one is set up so that low frequencies (bass) are shown at the bottom and higher pitch sounds continue up; if you look at 5:05 you can see the bass notes and their harmonics clearly. ... oh, and for some reason the window is doubled, maybe make it look neat.

  • @darlantro It took me a second, but I'm pretty sure the image is doubled because of stereo L/R differences?

  • @darlantro:

It's not doubled, it's the left and the right output i guess.

  • More Like Amnesiac hits on In Rainbows and The Eraser, then the children hit on each other..XD

  • What a great ending to the album! It's a wonderful night tonight, drinking a good brew with the wife and dog... thinking of our friends and family. I love this!

    ok

  • @goddamnyouyoufuck Oh my god, don't give your dog beer.

  • What a beautiful way to end the album! It's a great night tonight, drinking a good brew with the wife and dog and thinking of our friends and family. I love this!

  • It seemed to me like the first seconds of the Spectrogram were like sparkling, and it added to the magic of the song's beginning.

Thx for sharing the whole album!

  • more like burial, james blake and flying lotus had a brain orgy and thom york was the grand pimp of ideas

  • Stop comparisons, TKOL sounds like TKOL, period.

  • this album reminds me THE ERASER...

  • Thanks for posting. Now I have to buy it. Does anyone else think Track 7 sounds a little like Neil Young?

  • Blah Blah Blah to the critics.....Yes, it's more electronic; if you knew anything about radiohead that is a realm they are attempting to step into. The fact is, the more you listen to the album, the more it grows on you in a good way.

  • Wtf am I watching this on Youtube i paid for it on Radiohead's website, and so should you all!

  • hmm... I dont like it. Too much electronic for me to like it

  • A wise man once said: "Don't feed the trolls"

  • loving the new radiohead album really hope they tour this year have not seen them since they did Manchester! I pre-ordered the limited boxset of the website can't wait till it comes out! Have people bought the radiohead soft toy bears they r so cool i got all 3!

  • Thank you for posting!!!

  • i wonder what this forest looks like in real life?

  • EPIC....Love it.....peace!

  • ITS THOM'S PENIS!

  • that's like my heartbeat monitor! I'm dying!

  • Such a wonderful album, Feral and Lotus Flower being the two standout tracks on the record for me.

  • use some idiomatic wisdom..

    just this:

    "each to their own"!!!

  • Ha.....excellent.

  • thank you

  • @thelilbearbeeny Just wondering, how did you manage to achieve those spectrograms? Any specific piece of software? By the way, great job by putting this together in such an enjoyable bundle with these spectrograms that just allow to see a bit more beneath those carefully arranged layers of sounds! :)

  • This calls for radiohead to pull off a little AFX in their next album ;P

  • I've just been in heaven for 37 minutes

  • I like it. it's very dark but full of so much promise. better than In Rainbows.

By the way how does one get the Spectrogram effect for using on their own tunes they upload? is this a new youtube thing?

  • I added These Are My Twisted Words and Harry Patch to the end of this playlist, it makes a more rounded album. I think so, anyway.

  • <3

  • Did anyone else turn their computer on its side and slightly cross your eyes to watch the spectrogram in a sorta ascending 3D movie credit of blue ectoplasmic happieness? Hey let your brain see that stereo image in a way it was never ment to seen... *caution can never be unseen

  • @NDTFREE ow my neck! :) that's awesome....i need a flippable monitor and neck brace (*calls physiotherapist..*)

  • mm to short for a good trip.. i understand that they made it so short because they want everyone to sit and listen to a record from beginning to end' but fuck that i do that anyways fuck the rest who don't they are missing out

  • a short album makes me think there will another album soon

  • the album is short, but there is no filler, i've been listening to it on repeat for ages and it's still awesome :)

  • @thenick9900 exactly no filler. Something alot of bands could learn from. It's lean as a future classic should be.

  • i like it :)

  • I wish that album never ended...

  • This would look better if the bottom half was flipped upside down

  • the visualization for codex looks the best i think

  • so..."these are my twisted words"....wasnt supposed to be part of the album...

  • Amazing music. Every song is great with the exception of Feral, which serves its own purpose. I just wish it was longer. I'll be very surprised if there isn't more Radiohead has up their sleeves.

  • I've been using a colour spectogram - radiohead in rainbows :P

  • Monotonous and boring.

  • @oxonfineartist you shouldn't talk about your mom like that.

  • @oxonfineartist how is that? :S

  • @oxonfineartist Well, not everyone can live up to your American Idol tastes.

  • @i9oi9oi9o9 My tastes are an unknown quantity as far as you're concerned, but for what it's worth, they are far more sophisticated than anything 'Radiohead' have ever produced, or could ever produce. 'Radiohead' are a prolonged case of 'The Emperor's New Clothes', I'm just surprised that no one has seen through them yet? The evidence is plain enough for anyone to hear.

  • @oxonfineartist

if you're so smart and refined, how come you can't figure out where the "close window" button is so you can listen to something thats up to your high standards?

  • @MysterousBear You are only 17, and haven't yet developed any critical awareness. When you are older you might learn to appreciate that there are far more interesting things in the world than this.
