Pretty creative, when you think about it. By contrast, cartoons for kids today are so brainless, I almost hate to let my kids watch them.

Correctly attributing Getter Robo and it's offshoots to real author Ken Ishikawa is much cooler than Go Nagai Giant Robots :P

Ishikawa started as Go Nagai's art assistant so his early art mirrors Uncle Gos, but he develops his own distinctive style and thank goodness for that.

The seed series really could have been something, if they had made their own original story instead of taking a ton of ideas from 0079 (shoot me I'm to lazy to say the real title). I actually like the idea of a seed bearer, but they didn't elaborate on it....they just went JESUS POWERS GO! Then Destiny crushed my dreams because the first like 10 episode were actually kind of interesting....then the series shit the bed...

That's up for debate. Getter certainly has greater attack power, but the Mazinkaiser is usually considered to excel in defense. Which one is stronger is up for debate. The match is after all between the unbreakable shield and the sword that cuts anything.
