  • Clearly.

  • Paul McCartney have worked a lot with Michael Jackson and Linda McCartney.

George Harrison worked a lot with Eric Clapton and Maharishi.

John Lennon worked a lot with Yoko Ono.

But Ringo Starr is mostly alone. I feel a little sorry for him.

  • @TCfoxs Actually George Harrison gave Ringo this song. He wrote it played on it and everything. You can even find an earlier alternative George Harrison version that came out first. Ringo also played drums on a couple of Georges solo work. Plus Ringo has that shitty "all star" band where he rounds up a bunch of has beens to butcher Beatles songs which he's been doing since the 90s. Every year he rounds up a new group of has beens and they do horrible Beatles covers.

  • @TCfoxs

ringo worked with the rest of them. Ringo appeared on Johns Imagine, and Georges All Things Must Pass, just to name a few

  • The great Stephen Stills on piano here.

  • This video reminds me of Ticket to Ride.

Could he be reliving those memories</3?

  • awsome song

  • Ringo Starr - I don't think anybody else would have been right to be the drummer for the band. can probably say that for all of them - which is why they accomplished what they did.

  • great song

  • Some of us come easy...

  • RINGO SOS DE OTRO PLANETA :)

  • Great single Ringo when he was at his producing good pop records

  • What a fine song and thanks God one of two living ex-"Beatles"

  • @fortheloveoftunes Ringo is the only Beatle left. Paul died a long time ago. Read Ringos interview from May 2011

  • @childintime12 No...Paul is alive. John and George are the dead ones. RIP

  • @childintime12 Paul McCartney is allive. I even was at his concert 2 weeks ago. He still excactly the same as he ever was.

  • My favorite post Beatle song by any Beatle or any body. It kicks ass.

  • Cool video.

  • excellent video!!!

  • Si me acuerdo de este tema,. Era el año 72, lo escuche en la radio. Me gusto al igual que trae recuerdos de mi juventud, ademas en aquel tiempo me iniciaba en la musica rock y toda la musica que terminaba con lo convencional.

  • Nice... He went on to better things after the Beatles and now outranks Thomas the Tank Engiene...

  • I always thinkd he was talking about a cold...

  • me too... i dont ask for much, just want to trust... but you know it dont come easy

  • Thanks Ringo...................

  • @caulinrocker supposedly its Ringo, but I would have thought it was George, because it seems so much more like his style, but,, the fact they played together so long thier influences may have rubbed off on each otherle

  • @ikambor i figured it out ... it was both of them and there are versions with george on vocals as well but the only one to release it on an album was ringo

  • Good song!

  • Never realized Ringo played piano.

  • man those sunglasses are back in style now, lol

  • @Theburn77 = Yes! -- Elvis started that trend of wearin them aviator style glasses..

  • Lol, Yellow-Ski Machine. :3

  • Nice little put down by the announcer in the beginning of the video. HAHA. Oh well. I guess he could buff Ringo's shoes if the DJ business ever fell flat for him.

  • I never unstood why people think Ringo is a lame, he is acutally a very good artist in my opinion, and this song I believe was actuallyt he first solo beatles song to go gold, which is proof that he should be respected, i ean hell ,not only as a solo artist , hes a member of the damned beatles for god's sake

  • 19 people wanna sing the blues, but haven't paid their dues

  • It's almost impossible to play the piano with gloves on. I've tried.

  • Fecking brilliant song and video.

  • 19 people think it comes easy.

  • The best is when he falls :D

  • How insulting instead of saying he was the drummer of THE BEATLES ! They mention him as the narrator of Thomas the tank

  • Love it,just love it

  • @wind84 Which is the "official" video, this or the one that begins with a "crucifixion"? And what's the connection with Thomas?

  • i dont know =( sorry

  • @wind84 its still a great video..the reference made me laugh :)

  • @CxHavok thanks =D

  • @wind84 Ringo narrated the animated children's programmes of Thomas the Tank Engine.

  • @sweetredredwine He narrated the first thomas the tank engine series

  • @sweetredredwine the connection to Thomas the tank was he was the voice over

  • @sweetredredwine lol Ringo was the voice of the engine operator from Thomas the Tank Engine for a while.

  • @sweetredredwine ~ Ringo narrated Thomas the Tank Engine,

not all of them of course....but quiet a few.

  • @sweetredredwine

I don't know about which is the official video but his connection with Thomas the Tank Engine is that he was Mr Conductor on the series that my son use to watch when we lived in the UK. I used to love to watch him in it. He was great.

  • @sweetredredwine In the UK, Ringo was the narrator of the animated children's programmes of the Thomas the Tank Engine .

  • Ringo was the narrator and later played the role of Mr Conductor in the children's series called Thomas the Tank Engine and Friends, and Shining Time Station (which featured Thomas the Tank Engine), from about 1984-1989. His speaking voice was very melodious and expressive in that series, and I enjoyed watching it with my young son.

  • @sweetredredwine I may be wrong but I think this clip was recorded especially for Top Of The Pops... as for the other question, Ringo was the narrator of the Thomas The Tank Engine animated kid's show.

  • @sweetredredwine he was the narrator for Thomas the tank Engine

  • @sweetredredwine The thomas the tank engine reference is because Ringo was the Narrator for the thomas tank engine TV Kids Show

  • @sweetredredwine the connection with Thomas was Ringo was on a show in the late '80s called Shining Time Station and he was the "storyteller" or something like that during the first season of the show. He left after the first season and George Carlin replaced him.

  • @sweetredredwine Ringo was the narrator for the British version of Thomas the Tank Engine...he was fucking awesome as well

  • @sweetredredwine He narrated an episode of Thomas the Tank Engine. BEST EPISODE EVER

  • @Alanthewhite He narrated many episodes my friend.

  • @sweetredredwine Ringo Star was the Narrator for the TV Program Thomas The Tank Engine

  • @sweetredredwine he created thomas with George Carlen

  • @sweetredredwine Ringo played the conductor on Thomas and Friends. Google is your friend, you know.

  • Love you Ringo

  • excelente!!!

  • "..and we will make it wekh out better"

dee doo doo dat dere doh dontdee doh

    :o)

  • Happy 70th, Ringo, and many more......

  • I love the old snowmachine. What a difference from today's machines! Love the tune and Ringo!

  • When he was in the beatles he was the loner of the band but look at him now.

  • He did pretty well for a poor jewish kid from the slums of Liverpool.

  • @rifham

Um...not to be picky, but Ringo's not Jewish...

  • My favorite post Beatles Beatle song..and it's f'ing Ringo.

  • Ringo's really working the J. Harrison riffs here man. Thanks george.

  • Peace & love! peace & loooooooooove!

  • you'd think playing the piano with mittens would be hard :)

  • Well, Ringos not God, but... he does a better job than George on this great tune !! PEACE........

  • Ringo is GOD!!!

  • Nice song and footage but get rid of that announcer

  • My favorite Ringo song!!! Bad video though. :-(

  • sebastian tellier !

  • ringo cant write the fans nomore coz the little cutie id really busy

he is defo the queen of the drums forever

peace an love for the sweetie

  • Richard Starkey is so cute and probably drank because he was treated like dirt by John and Paul. He and George were always the most talented. True class can't be hidden, as we see in this video and Ringo's other works.

  • @blueberries4ever What do you mean he was treated like dirt by John and Paul? From what I've read about the Beatles, he was loved dearly by each member. They fought with each other a lot, but they didn't really fight with Ringo. When he left the band they each individually sought him out to convince him to come back and filled his drum area with a shitload of flowers when he returned. Paul mighta been a dick now and then, but that's because he thought he could drum better than Ringo

  • PSSST wind84 u spelt starr wrong X3

  • =O) i see, but i think "star" is beautiful too, he is a beautiful star anyway =oD

    thanks for comment,

    greetings.

  • i'd never appreciated the spirit of george coming thru ringo more than i do now and i've rediscovered my love for this song and now i'm gonna track down 'isn't it a pity?'

  • Great song, but what a shit video!!!!!!!!

  • he got the drum beat from get back, he looks old hear!

  • Great song and performance. wonder how he feels about bands like Gringo Star?

  • A not so known fact: Ringo had more number one hits than any other Beatle.

  • you spelled starr wrong retard

  • ...and you forgot the capital "S" in Starr.

    Being critical is easy...let up.

  • @abeat4u omg I´m so sorry ._.'

  • You forgot to capitalize in two places and add a period at the end of a sentence you retard, MsSavoyTruffle.

  • quebec ski-doo

  • i love the no no song

  • little guy huge voice

  • Gnarly judgemental bastards, sound like some pps i know, got to put you down even tho you are at the top. They suck.

  • Great song

  • gangsta track!!!!!!!!!

  • LERN TO SPELL STARR!

  • How can he play with those gloves on?

  • Hes not actually playing with the gloves. they synced the sound

  • ein Ableger der Beatles, aber massgeschneidert für ihn.

  • Around the time this came out, there was speculation as to which of The Beatles would be the one to issue the first really good song after their break up.

John had been trying hard to beat Paul, and vice versa, but confessed that he thought Ringo had beaten them all to it.

    Great song.

  • except the fact that george wrote this song, or at least wrote a lot of it.

  • @percommode Didn't "My Sweet Lord" come out before this?

  • maybe it do not come easy you know

  • GO RINGO!

Ringo is why ALL the Beatles sung!

    Love the tune always!

  • Love this song ringo.I became a fan of yours at age 40,I was born in june of 1969.Not long ago I looked just like you as in vid, kev

  • Written mostly by his Beatle pal George Harrison with a little bit of help from Ringo. One of my fave songs of any artist. A happy, jolly jaunt :-) I wonder when we can start writing to hime again...

  • Little guy gigantic voice thanks

  • I don't ask for much I only want trust. My favorite line in the song... and I love this song. Thanks for posting this bit of vid ^_^

  • I love how whenever i listen to any one of Ringo's songs, I have the BIGGEST smile on my face (:.

  • I like how the announcer/narrator guy says he went on to greater fame as the narrator for thomas the tank. Because I can honestly say I never knew he did that.

  • Ringo did the first series of Thomas the Tank Engine, Then he left and was replaced by the guy who did his voive for Yellow submarine.

  • whatever anyone says, it doesn't matter...seriously sweet shades

  • legend!

  • Gotta love this hit by Ringo--even if he does make a better drummer! LOL

  • Catchier than Lennons stuff at that time

  • still his BEST .

  • He was GREAT!

  • how was he the "lame" person in the beatles? he was a beatle, thats not lame.

  • @dpurple571 Ha Ringo's my favorite. :) If it's even possible to pick a favorite though...lol

  • @dpurple571 I'd much rather be the "lamest" Beatle than the most talented person in Journey!

  • That's the cutest little Pie Ano.

  • Not bad, not bad, ah the good old times are gone. sad

  • I miss the early 70's so much, those times and the music was great!!!!!!

  • Great song!!!!

Wow, I can hear Pete Ham and Tommy Evans (Badfinger) singing in the background quite well!

  • One time, my Dad, my brother and I were driving around. One of us hit the key to change the radio station. Just before the finger hit the button, the first two chords of this song came on. When we heard the chords and that the song had been changed, three fingers immediately went to the button to change it back to this song.

I would list this has one of the top ten rock songs ever.

    Tekakaromatagi

  • the harmony kicks in and the horns just makes it wicked. This is tight. John Lennon must be smiling down right now

on his partner, Ringo did kick @ss.

  • I believe this song had to do with the breakup of the beetles.

  • bama 3417 stated , "I believe this song had to do with the breakup of the beetles".

Bama3417- - - Can you elaborate on that please? I know Paul and John had some issues, but I thought Ringo was cool with his fellow Beatles??!! I am a Beatle fan and would like to know the real truth about John, Paul, George, and Ringo or maybe a website that discusses that issue. Thanks

  • You might want to check the wikipedia entry on the topic, it's pretty elaborate :-).

  • so harsh - "clearly a much better drummer than anything else... "

  • Jeez, they should give the guy a break, I mean he was playing the piano in the middle of a ski slope wearing large gloves for crying out loug!

  • I really can't imagine that that piano-playing wasn't a joke of him :-).

  • Wish I could play the piano with mittens like that...heh. I love Ringo.

  • great great song

  • I just love! this song.

  • Check out the original George Harrison demo elsewhere on youtube...

  • True words have never been spoken, peace & love.

  • Playing piano with mittens? I don't think so!

  • It is my only favorite song by Ringo. In fact - it's one of my all-time favorite songs ever.

  • lol it was handed to him by george. so technically its not his =P

  • so he just made it with a little help from his friends haha

  • I totally concur... but it is still a great song :-) .

  • One of Ringo's better songs.

  • reminds me of help with the whole skiing thing

  • This is the coolest Ringo ever was in his whole career. That's okay because the rest of the time he was cute as heck, funny as can be and generally just a good guy. We appreciate his part in the great machine called the Beatles, more, every year. luv yu Ringo!!

  • Ringo's easy going lifestyle will make him the longest lived, drama free Beatle of them all. A lesson there someplace..

  • Ringo on a snowmobile--AWESOME! Great song whatever the history behind it. Super guitar work by George, as usual.

  • its funny how hes peckin at the paino keys with those thick ass gloves on lol. good song though :)

  • OK.
