  • What version is this? How would one find it?

    Thanks!

  • Bravo Dmitri!

    It's out of words.

    Zeev

  • And the winner is...

    Dmitri Hvosrostovsky...

    Best Don Giovanni

  • @Dogaradodia He is great but I like Simon Keenlyside as Don Giovanni too. maybe more:-)

  • Pauvre Donna Elvira !!!

Leporello est décidemment aussi diabolique que son maître ...

    Mise en scène géniala !

  • Dimitri hvorostovsky:

    straordinario!

    Bravo!

    Grazie per il post

  • what the hell is this????? Besides, I don't like Horo, he is more a Dracula than a Don giovanni (I know, this aria is sung by leporello and there is no Dracula in opera, but if there was he would fit)

  • e diventato basso ?hahahahahahaha, prima volta nella vita mia vedo un tenore di interpretare il ruolo di basso !

  • Certified Intergalactic!

  • It's not even the entire aria. I can't understand this rendition for my life. Why? Nothing at all is any good here - can someone explain just what they're trying to communicate with this?

  • and yet 'Phantom of the Opera' appeals to you

    go figure

  • Can you post the first scene of this Opera, "Notte Giorno Faticar" ? :D

  • Tenortone21 seems reluctant :-) I love that scene, too, including the opening credits. Tenortone21, if you don't hurry, I'll upload it myself! ;-)

  • wonderful! where is the rest?

  • I don't like this performance.

Listen to Giuseppe Taddei's rendition,it's wonderful.

  • bau bauuu

  • Bau bauuuu

  • non mi piace....

  • eh! hvorostovsky, did someone tell you that this aria is supposed to be ironic and "funny" and not scary! Please take a look at Terfel or at Ferrucio Furletano: they will teach you how this is supposed to be done! I still believe that this guy whatever his part is looks and acts like dracula. I hope one day you will find a "metteur en scène" (who is really to blame here!)that will reveal to you that opera has a lot to do with acting and "having fun".

  • The correct spelling is Ferruccio Furlanetto.

  • What's this from? Not the song the recording. It looks like a movie quality.

  • "Don Giovanni Unmasked" which is a movie within a movie from Leporello's point of view.

  • was soll diese hollywoodisierung?

  • In places, rather.

  • Well, there is not much variation in dynamics and it sounds too forceful on places but it's not the worst I've ever heard. Jose Van Dam's rendition is worse.

  • Well you sound like kind of a prick, but I am compelled to agree with you.

This is the most terrible serious attempt at this aria I've ever seen.

  • He may not be suitable for the role but he sings this aria powerfully and well, if inappropriately.

  • but he also plays don giovanni. how could they have him in scenes together? and at least he's trying to be funny...

  • here's what i don't understand; is he playing both leporello and don giovanni? how does that make any sense?

  • It should be " marchesane, principesse "

    not "marchesine principesse"

  • According to the Bible, i.e., Schirmer Arias for Bass, it is marchesane, not marchesine. So you are correct. Oddly enough more than one respected professional sings it as marchesine. I wonder why?

  • Actually, they all sing "marchesine". Which makes me wonder even more. I'll look for Ricordi edition.

  • I would like to know the answer too. I don't speak Italian myself. So I'm afraid don't know which is correct.

  • The "Bible" is wrong...according to Ricordi score it is "marchesine". My bad...

  • Hi from Italy;no wonder about the "marchesine";in the libretto it is written "marchesane" but it makes sense also with "marchesine";the first is an old italian word for "marquise"(the more modern one is "marchesa");the second means "young marquise".

  • This was good!! I LOVE this aria!!

  • Orbazzano:

Il "film" è di Kanada (2000).

    regia: Barbara Willis Sweete

    direzione musicale: Richard Bradshaw

  • Hey Guys pretty soon I'll repost this video correctly so it'll be of better quality ok =)

  • Dimitri sounds wonderful, but would it kill him to actually act sometime?

  • You're so right! He looks dead on stage... It's so sad from someone this FANTASTIC!

  • If you ask who is the director, it`s Barbara Willis Sweete. (I am not sure, because I never learnt any Italian and can only guess what you mean...)

  • What on earth is the Commendatore doing there?
