The way the million dollar question is formed is; that although seeming easy, it is a very deceptive and tricky question. All the other incorrect answers are composed so they will seem more likely to be the correct answer. So the contestant will focus on those other answers while completely and subconsciously ignoring the obviously unlikely and correct answer.
Smart lady. She didn't let greed persuade her into doing what most people would have done and gone with Turkey. She said she had a strategy and she stuck with it.
Yes, she's a wise woman. And I know the 'most people' you mentioned are exactly those contestants in Japan. Almost all those contestants decided to go for the final question, and slightly more than half of them lost.
Just check it out, you'll realize most of those contestants who missed the final question are from Japan.
She didn't go for the million dollar question because she understand it is always better to play this game safe than over-risking. Otherwise, she'll did the same thing that happens the most in Japan, getting the final question wrong.
For the final question, I will never risk it unless I'm exactaly 100 percent sure (like Nancy Christy). I rather lose the chance of winning the jackpot, instead of losing tons of money. Getting the final question wrong is embarassing, and I fear of hearing that scary theme.
The Dan Weisman rumor was a hoax that started on Wikipedia. Probably some kid trying to impress someone. In regards to your Ask The Audience statement, most people who say she is the first person to have it available for the $1 Million question are referring to the syndicated version of the show, in which case they are correct.
you know what?! lyn is one of my friends and she would be hurt if she saw that comment. keep ur fat yapper shut because i dont see u in the hotseat winning $500,000!!!!!

When the answer was about to be revealed, Lyn was pointing like 'Turkey's gonna light up'.
But when C lit up, she was like, 'Oh, thank god...'
