@thetev1s While liking dubstep, there's little doubt that quite a lot more musical competence is needed to create such a "remix" (I'd rather call it version, though). This is not mixing, this is completely revisiting a piece
@bluestreek004 I can picture that, haha driving up to the university, getting lost. Then from an overhead view of the city driving around, then speed up the video.
Absolutely amazing work. I don't think my brain can fully handle the awesomeness that is Zelda and Jazz at the same time, but all the same I am loving this.
I cannot express to you how much I love this piece. I listen to it everyday, and sometimes on repeat. Usually I could never repeat a song, but there are multiple moods and such incredible playing, I always give it at least a second listen.
Man. I'm getting a keyboard sometime in the next couple of months. I have no skill whatsoever at it. But I now have a goal. I want to get good enough to play this song.
It's cool since I'm playing this piece, several other people wanted to play it too and it's getting quite famous at my place. I just would like to know what u think of my new version?
Nah I had a few pages up. Was looking for dragon quest 9 and kept getting surveys. I filled one out and realised I had signed up to some text message service. I feel like a mug and now I am sending stop to these numbers but not getting the messsage I have been cancelled. I just put a fiver on my phone and then got 3 messages from these people and now have 50p!
well, i've taken a break for this song and going to put it later on youtube because i prommised, my teacher says that mij technique is not advanced enough so he wants to practice Bach with me. i'm now at page 6.
the first section of page 3 is VERY hard and takes lots of practises
and i would like to know if you can play the song and why you chose a D chord in measure 48 (because i think its not that good :o) however i realy like the part after the solo breaks and everything else ofcourse :p
@kentokhromatic Personally, I find the run on the last two beats of m.30 harder than m.48. I don't know why, because it doesn't seem like it should be that hard X(
@nintenpianist149 (continued) I'm primarily a composer, so I have not learned this piece yet, though there is a performer here learning this piece. I'm glad to discuss and revise any technical issues (playability).
The DM arpeggio is dissonant against the FM7 chord at the beginning of the measure (M3 in DM = F#) , but it is meant to give a polychordal spice that's quite common in jazz. If you find the dissonance really unpleasing, F# can be changed to F(n), but I would prefer to keep it jazzy.
I just can join the others and praise your work, it's really fantastic!
Right now I'm practicing it and I might upload a video when I got it fully working, but there are some parts I have problems with (I'm playing mostly classic)..
@thegritsch wow, please keep me closely in the loop about this! I'm very enthusiastic to see your result. Let me know what parts you have trouble with, maybe it'd help to discuss it.
@kentokhromatic I will do my best but at the moment school is keeping me busy (graduating soon) I will just upload my imperfect progress once i get a camcorder, hope u don't mind.
@thegritsch I love seeing progress reports, as an instrumental composer it's very interesting to me to see what passages are easy, and what others are challenging, so I don't mind seeing in-progress videos of my pieces or arrangements at all =)
aren't the high parts of 3:17 the ending of Link's Awakening? When the fish is rising to the air in a cutscene? Really nice re imagining of the song though. I've had this faved for months now. Just decided to comment now <_<.
Haha I jest, if you did anything to do with the Song of Storms I'll be extremely happy. I know you could do an awesome job if you played around with that.
I just wanted to thank you again for this wonderful rendition, I happen to enjoy playing some Jazz on my Strat Trumpet as a hobby, and it makes me feel good to know there are people who use music as a form of expression and really pour their heart into it.
Because dubstep remixes are too mainstream :D awesome job, though

nintenpianist149 1 year ago
@nintenpianist149 Hi Ninten, m.48 is very hard, I should have written that as an ossia (optional) with this easier flourish in the sheet music.
After the first 4 16th notes instead of the 8 32nd notes, have 6 16th note triplets, starting after 4th 16th note [G5]:
F#5 A5 F#6 ascending, D6 B5 F#5 (descending), to land right after on the eighth note D5.
kentokhromatic 1 year ago
@kentokhromatic Personally, I find the run on the last two beats of m.30 harder than m.48. I don't know why, because it doesn't seem like it should be that hard X(
