Amen to that. I will certainly have a very special place in my heart for this lovely woman. I watch the movie "Sarafina" at least 3 times a month and I watch the video of her singing Soweto Blues at least once a day. I love Mama Africa.

Just searched "Miriam Makeba Time" and it looks like it was in their on-line edition. Miriam Makeba is featured #24 of 45 of the Time Magazine 2008 Person of the Year. Wonder what USA Today's problem is. They published a letter today about Eartha Kitt but not Miriam Makeba. The letter I submitted was brief enough, under 200 words, and they published one of mine about seven or eight years ago so it should be acceptable.
Very disappointed to see USA Today gave no mention of Miriam Makeba in its article 'Passages' (Fri/Sat/Sun edition; 12/26-28/2008). The article lists many famous people that passed in 2008. I will write a letter questioning why no mention was given.

There's a great album called PATA PATA, it is quite old but I got a copy a couple of years ago, I ordered it from a local independant record store.
It was well worth the money cos there was alot of great other material on there too.

No hay palabras que puedan demostrar el agradecimiento que le debe la humanidad para tan importante personaje, importante fue su carrera como artista pero mucho mas tracendental lo fue su voz, voz que no solo sirvio para deleitarnos con tan maravillosa melodia sino, para dibulgar a vivo llanto el clamor de un pueblo que vive y que sufre y que, a la final todos en el mundo hacemos parte de el, paz en su tumba .
