soulful and meaningful song. It is also quite mystifying. I love the Beach Boy collaboration. I first heard this song when I was like 7 years old. I'm not a huge Chicago fan, but this track is truly timeless....
Beautiful backing vocals by the Beach Boys makes this Chicago song more special (not that Chicogo isn't special all by itself) - RIP Dennis Wilson - 1996 -
@spectres0024 weird---i came here to say that this song reminds me and came from an era of "The Beach Boys" "Holland" album---i did not know (rem?) they sang background
About a year ago I heard this on the radio and thought,"Is this a Pink Floyd I've never heard?"I was driving and couldn't write down lyrics so I had to wait months later to hear it again and made sure I wrote the Chorus..Worth the wait-An incredible song and should be more popular on the radio:)
I was absolutely shocked when I found out the Beach Boys were associated to this fantastic song. Thanks again chissykim for sharing this album with us! :)

I can't believe how well the guy sings around 2:35 to 2:45. Talk about tuned up and strong.

@switz223 That's Peter Cetera signing the bridge. Terry Kath sings lead on the song.

geez, music used to be what music was supposed to be. Our new generation of musicians are a sad joke.

Awesome how the 'Boys blended perfectly with Terry's husky voice.

I've always loved this song. Even as a little kid it filled me with a sense of melancholy and longing.
