I enjoy playing it simply because I love playing KH. Yes it has nothing to do with the story, but it's perfect for people like me who just wants some more to play while waiting for KH3. I have played them all with the exception of CoM as they wont release it in Europe. BBS was a brilliant game and I dont see it as a spin-off. The two games for the DS were ok. But I'm getting really tired of all the consoles they use! I'm not buying a 3DS!

358/2 days had an amazing story, but playing it was dreaful and repetetive, it's like the creators didn't care how long battles were, and if you died, you have to beat that boss thats hard to even touch all over again!
This game is like the opposite, the gameplay is very fun! and impressive for DS, cutscenes without video are pretty weird and kinda kill serious moments but w/e, storys not reallly good at all, but whatever, it reminds me of the light hearted KH1 before it got super emotional.

I got this game. It's pretty cool. It combines pretty much all of the Kingdom Hearts games. It has the battle system of KH1+2 and Birth by Sleep. And the RPG system of 358/2 Days. It's pretty awesome.
@SuperSajayin2Gohan in an interview done on Nomura about the new kh 3DS game Dream Drop Distance. he said that they are working on a secret ending to hint at the story line of kingdom hearts three! But Dream Drop Distance doesn't come out till early 2012-mid 2012. so it wont be till 2013-2014 that kh 3 comes out:/ i figured id tell you there IS a kh 3 and everybody doesn't believe it

I was wondering if this game is worth getting. I read reviews saying it doesn't fit in the story and stuff and also I only really played KH CoM (I got to Maleficent when she turns into a dragon then lost the game D:) And well I was also thinking of getting KH BBS and KH 358/2 Days. I was on layer 5 of the Olympius Coliseum, and I was so close to beating that 3 headed monster... I paused the game... Let my little cousin get ahold of it, and BAM there I was on the very first level, Destiny Islands. AGAIN. He had saved it in the slot where I had saved my game... I don't know If I can ever play that game anymore now... T-T

Well I liked Birth By Sleep most, not because of the graphics, but because of the story. These characters are new to the series and they are already liked by everyone. In Days everyone already knew all of the Organization besides Xion. Birth By Sleep also introduced a new gameplay mechanic of the Commands (which is exactly the same as in Re:Coded)
Days' gameplay was kind of the same as what we've seen before. Besides the cool leveling system, that's all Day's brought.

Wanna know when KH3 comes out? The KH team will start working on it once they finish both dream, drop, distance and Final Fantasy Versus XIII. So how long will that be? Well, KH:3D will come out in a couple years. Versus XIII will probably come out at the earliest 2012, and even that's a stretch. I'm thinking Versus XIII will be finished somewhere around 2014.

I don't mind that they rehashed KH1. It's a great portable update to the series, and teh gameplay is fun. Now you don't always have to plug up all the playstation to play Kingdom Hearts, and this game provides more or equal replay value. Well that's my opinion anyways.

Re-Coded looks nice and nostalgic and everything, but I still wouldn't buy it. Even though I really enjoyed Birth By Sleep and Kingdom Hearts 2, I just stopped caring. Call me crazy, but I think that they should've stopped after Kingdom Hearts 1. The story for the first one was simple and sweet, but they just started being confusing and adding a crapload of random ideas and fan service to make the new ones. To this day, I still don't understand the point of a lot of things in KH2.
I enjoy these kind of games because they reveal little by little more of the storyline making everyone want Kingdom Hearts 3 more. Just ordered this game should arrive tomorrow :D

@Nat3500th People are upset because the story is barely moving forward. SE and Disney are milking this franchise for as much and as long as they possibly can. While understandable, when the plot becomes more convoluted and rehashing becomes commonplace with each side game, fans will get upset. KH3 is wanted because people want to see a conclusion to the story, not innumerable mediocre side stories. Truth be told, I stopped at KH2. It came nowhere close to KH as that was near perfect.

@mikers003 Kingdom Hearts 3D was the tenative title (Otherwise known as "temporary title") for Kingdom Hearts: Dream Drop Distance. Notice how there are 3 D's in that title? That's why there's a 3 in the working title.
Kingdom Hearts series is all about the story. Those who disagree are really missing out a lot if all they think about is fighting, fighting and fighting and to get on with KHIII.

@NeVeRSoFtx I have an Xbox 360,PS3 and most of the other consoles too and i'm not a moron,i found the GBA and NDS games just as fun as the others,though 358/2 days did get a little boring towards the end but the ending was fulfilling.Appreciate the games and developers,each game had a nice story and connects to the others,birth by sleep and RE:coded technically showed KHIII's plot.

I don't mind that they rehashed KH1. It's a great portable update to the series, and teh gameplay is fun. Now you don't always have to plug up all the playstation to play Kingdom Hearts, and this game provides more or equal replay value. Well that's my opinion anyways.

DAMN this looks like it has a slightly watered down Kingdom Hearts 1 graphics and youtube usually has pretty crappy quality. Once you see what it looks like when playing this on the DS itself....DAMN!!!!, Thats some shmexy graphics for the DS, screw you haters.

@eftultimate Seriously we shouldn't treat them like spin-offs... I mean, just like you said, without KH:CoM KH2 is pretty confusing... That means they play a significant role in the KH chronology... Not having numbers behind Kingdom Hearts doesn't mean it's a spin-off..

@lipwen94 they're not even spin offs! a spin off would be like the kingdom hearts game released for v cast THATS an actual spin off not because it was released on a cell phone or it didnt have as good of graphics as the others but because it had nothing to do with the story, what a spin off is

@Nat3500th dude gameplay is cool n all but kh fans want a good story and the story for this seems like they threw it all at the last minute. the opposite can be said for 358. story wasd fine but could have been presented better but gameplay was utter shit. kh3 will and should fix these problems

@Nat3500th Come on im a kingdom hearts fan but this game is a stretch, it re uses the same envirorments characters weapons and music. The story sucks hard easily the least interesting out of any of the games and It doesn't advance the overall story at all and is a cheap cash in. I can fully understand peoples frustration when they see games like this coming out instead of kingdom hearts 3.

I personally don't mind the spin offs BBS was amazing!
But they really should just put the spin offs on psp only. The ds isnt that great on quality, and the controls are crappy for Kingdom Hearts gameplay.

Re-Coded looks nice and nostalgic and everything, but I still wouldn't buy it. Even though I really enjoyed Birth By Sleep and Kingdom Hearts 2, I just stopped caring. Call me crazy, but I think that they should've stopped after Kingdom Hearts 1. The story for the first one was simple and sweet, but they just started being confusing and adding a crapload of random ideas and fan service to make the new ones. To this day, I still don't understand the point of a lot of things in KH2.

I enjoy these kind of games because they reveal little by little more of the storyline making everyone want Kingdom Hearts 3 more. Just ordered this game should arrive tomorrow :D

@Nat3500th People are upset because the story is barely moving forward. SE and Disney are milking this franchise for as much and as long as they possibly can. While understandable, when the plot becomes more convoluted and rehashing becomes commonplace with each side game, fans will get upset. KH3 is wanted because people want to see a conclusion to the story, not innumerable mediocre side stories. Truth be told, I stopped at KH2. It came nowhere close to KH as that was near perfect.

@K1nd0mC4rD in a way it actually is the KH3 for now coded and 3d are a prequel series that exceeds past KHII so until the real kh 3 comes out this is the KH3 that was supposed to take place after kh 2

@mikers003 Kingdom Hearts 3D was the tenative title (Otherwise known as "temporary title") for Kingdom Hearts: Dream Drop Distance. Notice how there are 3 D's in that title? That's why there's a 3 in the working title.

Kingdom Hearts series is all about the story. Those who disagree are really missing out a lot if all they think about is fighting, fighting and fighting and to get on with KHIII.

@NeVeRSoFtx I have an Xbox 360,PS3 and most of the other consoles too and i'm not a moron,i found the GBA and NDS games just as fun as the others,though 358/2 days did get a little boring towards the end but the ending was fulfilling.Appreciate the games and developers,each game had a nice story and connects to the others,birth by sleep and RE:coded technically showed KHIII's plot.
