Watching some of these matches 20 years later, I'm listening to Bobby Heenan and realizing he's mentally retarded. But he sure made the WWF and the matches fun to watch. The WWE of today just can't compare to the WWF of the 80s and early 90s. The "rasslers" and the commentators - Gorilla Monsoon, Bobby Heenan, Jim Ross, etc. - made it entertaining.
@jamal2021 being overweight doesn't neccesarily mean you're going to be strong..take yokozuna, how many big guys did he pick up and slam??? all he did was wobble his fat ass round the ring n a few karate chops.Mabel from MOM, he was another boring wrestler, wasn't particularly strong either, just fat.
this was a scripting f*** up by the WWF....at 4:10 when animal decks earthquake, typhoon enters the ring, no tag made..all 4 wrestlers end up outside, (earthquake and animal still legal men in the ring) count out awarded to natural disasters on account of typhoon being the legal man in the ring. match should have been a double count out. ignorance is bliss...when we watched this 20+ years ago we didn't know it was fake and rehearsed. RIP Mike Hegstrand and John Tenta!
back when it looked more real and these guys had moves and the charisma to go with their look . not everone looked the same either nowadays it all carbon copies
Never thought I'd describe a fat fucker like 'Quake as a "great athlete" but the man is a sick athlete. Credit where it's due. Holler if ya hear me, player.
LOD had more speed, but they were nowhere near as strong as the Natural Disasters. Using those steel chairs at the end was not very good sportmanship. They still had the belts. No wonder Jimmy and his fellows felt robbed.
no i think animal is dead..... i could be wrong though .... i thought i saw him on one of those wrestler's tribute videos....don't quote me on that though cuz like i said i could be wrong lol
I remember watching a royal rumble around my friends house in the early 90's. When quake entered the ring he did his trademark (jumping up and down, shaking the ring) and everyone was shit scared of this 6'6 beast. After he proceded to kick ass without bothering to take names, it finally took about 5 men to throw him out. It was awesome. Anyone know which royal rumble that was?
Typhoon was amazing with how he could handle his weight in the ring! he moved about as good as anyone
