Brent hasn't been in every lineup, Brett sure as hell hasn't been, Eric got kicked out ages ago (for good reason), & these 2 new guys are just scabs to fill in. I happen to like the evolution of the band, & the last thing I want to see is FP '89. Newsflash: It's 2007! There already IS A FASTER PUSSYCAT! TAIME'S BAND!
I realize that if you put the circa '89 version in front of the right crowd it works. I've seen FP enough times to know that there are plenty of cut-off jean jackets, mullets & way too-tight jeans with cuts all over their pants like Def Leppard at the shows. There are also plenty of people who like the new sound. Some times when they play, everyone is into it, sometimes half the crowd leaves because they can't handle a band sounding differently than 20 years ago.
Again, glad that all that matters to you is whether you'd fuck the band or not. I'd rather listen to good music than decide who I liked based on fuckability or hair styles.

I disagree about Taime being stuck in 1997, but Brent has stated that his version of FP was playing the music "as it was recorded, no remixes, no BS", so he is stuck in the 80's.

The fact that people like you wouldn't accept a band like Rolling Stones making new music in a different genre is why most bands are scared to change. If I were Mick Jagger, I'd crap out "Satisfaction" every night & collect my $5 million too, don't get me wrong. I had looked forward to hearing what things would sound like with the rise of Dancehall a couple of years ago. But the only stuff that seemed interesting were The Bug and M.I.A.
