yes i can hear, and i hear epic, hardcore and beautiful sounds of nightwish. what i know about music is that it shouldnt have such narrow minded boundaries to it. to be honest it is frankly embarrassing to see your post. what makes nightwish better (to us fans) than other music, is its ability to be unique and creative. it combines many different styles (none being pop). music is art and good artists are original and dont copy everyone else. thats what i no about music.

Both of you are partly wrong, The original Idea was that Nightwish was to be an acoustic band, atmospheric (He had played in metal bands before) After recording the first Demo (Very campfire-ey) He added Metal components because Tarja's voice was to powerful AND Tuomas enjoys Phantom of the Opera (Counts as an opera) and some others (thats why the covered it :) Sources: The official Nightwish Biography
