Hello! How do we see the 3D trees? We've enabled 3d layers, and checked out Athens, San Francisco.. the buildings are 3d, or we reach street view, but no 3d trees yet. Appreciate your help.

That would be fun. But if it is as crappy as these 3d trees are, I would hate to see what the people would look like.

To have trees on every patch of satellite data would require an algorithm that places different species of trees based on the shade of green the data indicates. Of course, there are thousands of species of trees, so they'd have to keep it simple: Douglas fir, maple, and palm trees. There that's it.

Question: What is the system used for "placing" trees? Obviously you can't inventory every tree in the Amazon forest and make that the basis for each tree viewable in 3D Trees. (Although, with Google, who knows??) OTOH, I can see how that WOULD be conceivable for, say, Central Park in NYC. So are different systems used for different places?

I have a question!  I've recently downloaded Google Earth 6. I switched the 3D trees on while in San Francisco and on ground view, but they won't turn on! I tried waiting a couple minutes for it to load, but nothing! What is the problem?

I spent the whole video playing snake... This is SO cool! At the beginning, click the screen twice to pause then unpause annd press the up+left arrow a couple times. The little loading circle can be used to play snake! not even kidding, try it!

Google is a huge company, so it probably uses very expansive HD screen recorders. I don't know how to record google earh for free, but you can use the trial version of camtasia studio for 30 days: it allows to record your screeb in hd, but you need to purchase it.

It's in the 3D Buildings Layer. The option only showed up after I set the language of Google Earth to English(US).
