Halo had the best twist in any video game. I mean, if you'd never heard of Halo before, started playing through it, The Flood was the very last thing you expected to see. And that music was eerie as all hell. That music should be in the top 10.

I personally think Halo 1 is the best halo game for its fun gameplay and new concept. I hated Halo 2/3 for their renowned bad fanboy community crying and shouting troughout the whole game.

Also this music certainly does not belong in the top 10/20 or even 30, simply because the Halo soundtrack doesnt really contribute to its atmosphere. it is good music but it doesnt belong in Halo. Other games like : Mario 64, Chrono Trigger, Banjo-Kazooie and Assassin's creed fitted their music perfectly.

I must disagree, it was fine orchestral music that fitted the driven gameplay nicely. I almost always prefer good score music over most "computer games music". The captivating Gothic 3 Soundtrack is another instance of such excellence.

I agree with the Gothic 3 soundtrack :D, bwah maybe i'm not a fan of today's fps's. they are too much of em and they always seem to be too serious. for me a game is all about fun. I used to be a ''hardcore gamer'' but I stopped because i didn't really enjoy it anymore. so I deleted Counterstrike and call of duty 1/2/3/4/5. Put my xbox360 in the corner and replaced it with a good old n64 to play some Banjo-Kazooie and Goldeneye :D

well this song got a award when it came out...not compared with any other older ones in the past. At the time this game came out it was good. but not in the whole game history. In the new gen games it would be one of the bests but not the best of all time.

Actually, I think this is an element from the "Truth and Reconcilliation Suite" that gets commonly confused with the main theme, being it is the same melody. The one thing like lacks is the heavy input of the vocalist that comes in in the middle of "Halo."

Halo is a good game - a great game, even - but yeah, it is kind of overrated. Everything it does, some other game has done better, but it does work all those myriad elements into a cohesive, accessible whole in a way few other games have. That said, Halo's soundtrack is second to none, easily one of the best soundtracks to any action game ever.

Thats why MLG has Halo as its most watched event. Its actually a really good game. it brought the idea in of being able to fire 2 completely different weapons at once. most games dont have dual-wielding. also it brought in the idea of Hijacking or Skyjacking ur opponents and enemies. i will say that there are things that need to be worked on. Like the character models. when ur opponent fires, their bullets are coming out of the air not the gun. but still its not shitty.
