(do not take that part seriously or i may hang myself) he is a bit like ichigo, born with a massive amount of reiatsu and the more he fights the stronger he gets (like a saiyan in DBZ), add up them then take into account how many fights he has had and how much he loves to fight... do you really expect him to be weak? as for the lack of bankai it doesnt define how strong they are just their relationship to zanpakuto

@fenrir139 i don't expect him to be weak.i just don't see how its possible for him to now be one of the strongest characters in the show just by skill,experience, fearlessness,and reiatsu even though he was considered to be one of the weakest captains earlier in the show. Also, bankai is supposed to be a shinigamis strongest power so a bankai can show how strong someone is.But kenpach is an exception. He doesn't need one to beat the strongest foes whereas someone like hitsugaya does.

@Dantethedemon16 ah see i have to disagree, bankai simply augments your powers, each one increases it a different amount based on the type of bankai it is, for example ikkaku's bankai increases his destructive power while hitsugaya's increases his defensive abilities, also kenpachi wasnt considered the weakest, he was considered the most reckless. if you remember he took on tousen and komamura at the same time and took on both of their bankai's and nearly killed tousen in the process

@Waidesama they have improved, but not in terms of technique, but raw power: (not gonna spoil much) renji and kenpachi have been confirmed to kill 2 new enemies at the height of their power, which was pretty high considering circumstances (even ichigo was surprised at their powerboost)
