please please please please could you tell me how you created the effect you did @ 0:50... it is so beautiful... What type of a lens - film - zoom - fps - shutter speed - motion - colour correction (if any) did you use? I've always wanted to capture a shot like that... always.
I exported it off Final Cut Pro into ProRes, and the source file is still sitting in my computer, but I uploaded this video before Youtube allowed HD uploading. There's a 720p version posted as well.
can you please tell me how to avoid display of date,i want to shoot a short film but i dont know how remove it,i dont want the date to appear...the camera is hdv 1080i HVR A1U
I have one and I shot a short, it's here on youtube if you want to see it, to not display the date you must go to menu click on DATE and it let you choose between the date being on or off, it will continue to appear in the screen but not in the record footage.
Hey what did you do to get this footage in such a low light atmosphere. I would really like to know since the I often hear that this camera isn't good in low light settings, and your footage is truly great.
Hi! Thanks for posting this test. I have this camera and have loved it EXCEPT for the low-light performance. Your footage looks great but anytime i'm shooting in anything less than perfect light I do not get a good picture. The blacks almost have some blue in it. It looks really bad. Not nice and clear like your shots. What were your settings when you shot this?
This is a great camera considering it has great sound and awesome images come on people plus its a good size and doesent cost that much not plus it has night time mode and it looks great even if you dont use it for hd movies thats right it looks even awesome if you just use for normal dvds
i love the hvr a1u..i bought the hvr a1j imported form japan and it has beautiful picture quality...better that the canon hv20...Just talking video in low light condition aint that great
For my purposes, this camera has suited me wonderfully. It really depends on what your needs are. I needed a small unit that I can carry along with all my accessories in a relatively small hard case. This is the 2nd-lower end pro unit from Sony. If you need more, I HIGHLY recommend the HVR-V1U. It is a little too big for my needs, but has some impressive features the A1U lacks.
i haven't worked long enough with the HV20 to gauge its performance vs. the A1U, but since I use Canon for all my photography needs, i can assume that the quality is as good or better than the A1U.

If you don't like it, go complain on the Internet.
Oh wait...you already did that. Feel better?

no its Portland, Oregon

Actually, the new hand held Sony HDD cameras are much cheaper and produce better quality images. See what you can pawn the A1U for.

My Sony A1U has pretty crappy low light performance. Since it's a 1 CMOS chip, why were you looking for it for its low light performance?

Because I have no money. LOL

how do some people get video on youtube looking just as good when they upload it?

Its all about how you export your video, what compression/codec you use.

If you could get a full refund for what you paid, would you exchange this cam for anything else or absolutely stick with this?
Thanks, I'm doing a prelim search.

what is this song???
if there's a possible chance can i get a copy...comment me back, if possible
misteralmuranas710 4 years ago
The song is called 'colorblind' by counting crows. it is featured in the 1999 film 'cruel intentions'.
i sliced out the middle of the song, and I intend to make a longer version of this video that uses the full version of the song.

is this camera better then the Canon HV20, from what i have seen it looks like it.
