@Balnazzardi Because if they wanted to, they would have to pay *a lot* of monnies to the original creators of the songs (OST, OP, EDs and insert songs). Which isn't a bad thing, but given that they maybe had a certain budget to work with when they bought the rights, they probably couldn't afford to do so.

Maybe it turned out to be cheaper to create original songs through their own music team than to purchase the licenses and hire someone to re-record them all. Just my two cents!

@debunkedmyth Well could have only re-recored the theme song Butter-fly,pretty much all other countries they did that but didnt re-record any of the other songs, but used them just like that (for example evolution song Braveheart can be heared in Japanese in other language versions)

And if the worst dubbing company in the history (Agapio Racing Team, just search their videos,even though you cant understand Finnish, you know its terrible) had money to pay for songs,how didnt english dubbers...

I know this is gonna sound like otaku-blasphemy, but I enjoy this opening a LOT more than the Japanese one. The Japanese song just doesn't flow with some of the imagery, such as Devimon appearing, TK watching Angemon evolve, and the shot with all the "bad" Digimon looking like they're about to feast on them. This one makes it fully clear that the digital world is full of dangers at every corner, and they've got to fight to stay alive.

I don't know which opening you guys grew up with, but I (can't emphasis that enough) grew up with the English one, so of course it's great! The Japanese one is also really good, it's catchy and groovy, and I just finished listening to the German one as well. It has the same music as the Japanese one, but just translated into German, but I prefer the Japanese one over the German anyway.

I recall this show. From a writer's perpspective the show storyline was pretty catchy. I actually met and took a picture of Richard Epcar who was the dub voice of Myotismon. He and his wife Ellyn Stern are wonderful people. Mr. Epcar was so....deliciously evil as Myotismon.

this is the opening I grew up with too.... but that doesn't mean that the japanese one isn't good...

in fact, in every other country, the japanese opening is the one that people grew up with, so maybe they feel the same way you do!

the english version captures the idea of a digital universe very well (it sounds very electronic)

but the japanese version also brings about the thought of the beauty of this world, and the wonderful things it brings...
