  • Great work too bad i cant get my thumb around. Kind of the only good way to play it

  • @rampagejackson29 That is too bad indeed. No way to learn how to do that or maybe get a thinner neck? It'd really open up a world of possibilities

  • Awesome lesson thank you very much

  • im sorry if this question has already been asked or addressed, but is that a roller nut on your stratocaster?

  • @rekcilkcid Yes that's an LSR Roller nut and the tuners are Gotoh vintage kluson staggered locking tuners. A great combo! Great tuning stability

  • great playing and lesson ! I would learn this song but I can't find the tabs on this Link ...?

  • @GuitarEd48 Check out all the info underneath the video (click on 'more') There is a link to the pdf and I just checked. It still works

  • @JazzInc thank you for answer, the problem was my iPhone ;-) it can't open the PDF Link, I tried it with my laptop and there it works :-) thank you so much also for the great fre lesson + Tabs .

    Cheers

    Ed

  • I love this sound!

  • Thank you so MUCH!

  • Love it!!

  • THANKS SOO MUCH!!! echt dat was perfect and die strat it echt prachtig C;

  • @FreaquedeMusique Dank je! Zelf gebouwd.

  • Nicely done. Great one.

  • Wish I could read music well enough to interpret that PDF.

I'll just mime you for now...

    Dm

  • i cant believe you made this! thanks so much, saved me a lot of time trying to suss it out. You have a great musical ear and play very well, thanks again!

  • Thanks for this great little track ! beautiful sound... greetings from france !

  • Man, this is gold! Great lesson, a tiny slice too advanced for me but great way to explain everything that count in the song not just bare bones structure like others.

    Tnx.

  • @smokymcpot24 *hahaha* thanks man! Made my day

  • Great video! and..thanks for the tabs on this!! Cheers!

  • Fantastic lesson, you made what I thought were tough concepts, easy to master and that's a great skill to have!!!!

  • @fullback72 Wow thank you so much! Making me blush here! :-)

  • I can't get your pdf to work...

  • Thanks so much!

  • What amp are you using?

  • @tubingforever a Redplate BlacknBlues

  • Best Tutorial I've Seen Yet!. Most people just play it, and tell you how to play along. I love how you've integrated aspects of music theory into your lessons. I wish I had watched this before I learned this song. It would of saved me sooooo much time! Keep it up!

  • @Fo0O0oTBall thanks man!!!

  • Oh crap, I think I accidentally bought the Deluxe package, alright, who do I make the check out to?

  • Thank you sooooooooooo much! Great Job!!!!!!!!!!

  • @acousticblu you're very welcome. Very glad to help!

  • Thank you for this video

  • And I even put you between my favourites in my computer!

  • But I like your video really much!

  • Atitude and accent! haha

  • You're dutch?

  • @L1EN2 Yes indeed. A certified cheese-head. Why?

  • Don't worry about the "wierd guitar faces". Playing guitar without making a face is like eating food without tasting it.

  • @gododot *hahaha* I'm stealing that as my new motto

  • Top rated comment says it all. You're amazing

  • Thank you!!!!!! fingers are hurting but i got to learn it!

  • @tomb05 *hahaha* great! That's the way to do it. Dedication and Determination! Thanks for sharing

  • @QuotenMensch in one word.... THANKS!

    and you're very welcome!

  • This is awesome, bro. Thanks so much!

  • thank you so much for the effort, thank you sooo much for the tabs!

  • you're a man!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1111

  • Are you dutch?? and btw what guitar is that! it sounds amazing!!

  • @FreaquedeMusique Hi, yes I'm Dutch. Thanks! I made the guitar myself. It's a JazzInc strat with alder body, off-center joint, brazilian rosewood fretboard, Stainless Steel 6105 frets, Leosounds Vintage Player 66 pickups custom-wound to my specs with custom stagger, Callaham Bridge assembly and an LSR roller nut

  • @JazzInc Ik hoorde het aan je accent xD but that "strat" is great, its sounds amazing and really John Mayer! its sooo smooth! (;

  • @JazzInc Hey, what was your custom wind (requirement) and how much did it cost you extra? Thanks.

  • @nicoooh Custom impedances (5.8, 5.8 and 6.8 k) and custom 10" stagger. Was only 20 oe 30 bucks more

  • @JazzInc I have watched this video probably 10 times just to hear you play it, and honestly you speak English better then most people in the US, you don't sound illiterate like most Americans. (I'm American)

  • Does it sounds good at an acoustic guitar too?

  • @atlegut hmmmm, I don't think I could pull it off on an acoustic

  • this helped me so much, thanks for the tabs and the awesome lesson!

  • @ayanacampbell You're very welcome :-)

  • Hey joost. Just a heads up on your tone - absolutely amazing in my humble opinion. Anyone who says to the contrary was listening to a different clip!

  • @Mrbluesy1 thanks man! It's all a matter of taste I guess, but @Carthsgtr my guitar has no resemblance to the clapton strat except for the grey color (and that's not the same either). The pickups are different, different caps, no preamp, different neck, fretboard, etc

  • wel that sounds like shit

  • @xxxm0ris

The tabs are relatively nice. Couple of stuff ups but I don't think I could have done better. Not a fan of the guitar. It sounds a bit like the Clapton strat which I was never a fan of.

  • the clean sound is amazing!

  • @Mijicm *hahahaha*

  • @Mijicm LOL!!! wish I had his dads car collection! "When Cameron was in Egypt's land...."

  • Thanks for the lesson, Paul Rudd.

  • @theactor19 slapping da bassss

  • You, my friend are just a youtube jem. And I really mean it. I just commented on your Martin Laurence Juber video too. You do it all. Keep up the great work!

  • @Fichtezxc Man I'm literally blushing and it's way too much credit, but thank you very much. I really appreciate it

  • really great!

  • Thanks for the fantastic performance and tab,top man!!!

BTW,is that a Highway 1 strat you got?

  • @Lefthanderz Thanks! and you're very welcome! No it's a strat I built myself

  • great instructions and tab. thank you so much

  • THANK YOU SO MUCC :D :D :D

  • TheRealRayJ said it right, thank you very much. Greeting from Serbia.

  • The tabs are slightly off from what you play in the video

  • hey do ya reckon you could do a tab and tutorial for gonna find another you on mulholland ?

  • @cocoblues78 Sorry. I hate doIng tabs. Only when I really need it and there are no alternatives

  • nice playing .....you look like the guy who plays kenny powers friend on hbo

  • great demo! thanks for sharing.

  • Cheers, For the greater good and all that jazz

    great help

  • Man, thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you . Did I mention that I'm grateful? Thanks for taking the time to put this together... very much appreciated.

  • @mahon257 *haha* you're VERY welcome

  • " She shar , c shar , c sharp minor, wow "

Echt geweldig man, thanks!

Je zou meer tutorials moeten maken ;-)

ps.

  • Wow, this was so helpful, thanks!

  • PDF tabs, HD, theory, note-by-note analysis, great playing, *and* a nice guy? The f**k? I feel like I owe you some money or something. You better do this for a living.

  • @TheRealRayJ *haha* no never quit my dayjob, but I am an enthusiastic amateur. Does that count? ;-)

  • Thanks to spend your time to do this awesome Lesson ;)

Un grand merci pour le PDF ;).

    Davy - FRANCE

  • @davyxtra27 De rien :)

  • Amazing lesson dude, couldn't have asked for more.

  • @Wtsmyageagain That put a smile on my face! You're very welcome

  • does anyone have the tab to this?

  • @o0olli3ee Are you kidding? As the title says, I provide tabs for this here. You can find the tabs in the 'info' section under the video. :-)

  • Jazzinc, GEWELDIG!!

  • what pickups are in your 'Strat'? Sounds great!!

  • @DetroitDen Thanks! They're a custom set of Leosounds Vintage Player 66 pickups

  • what sound !!

really good sound man ... what equipamment are you using?

  • @frognano Thank you. The guitar is of my own brand. The amp is the awesome RedPlate BlackTweed Special into a 212 cab. That's it.

For recording I use a set of Rode NT1as into an EMU 0404 USB 2

  • Awesome! so great playing with feeling and great sound :-)

    Cheers

    Ed

  • Thankyou !

    That was fantastic,Joost.

    Yet more beautiful playing.

I am really looking forward to hearing and seeing Neillian on his new baby, too.

    You 2 should get together.

  • @msCottonpicker Thank you for your kind words. And Neillian and I converse daily!

    :-)

  • Hi again,Jazz, Where did you buy the neck with the 10 radius? I would like to make my own. Your pickups sound great too, nice choice. What color is the body ? it looks different, but my monitor isn't that good.Which one of your strat 's is your fav.I am going to listen to your amp demo too. I am a lover of great tone too! Thanks

  • @stratomars Hi, I sent you a message, hope that helps. The color is my own custom color, which is quite a dark metallic grey between pewter and charcoal frost metallic

Look forward to hearing what you thought of the amp demo

  • Jazzinc I see you are not using your WW 10 here. your playin an tone is so nice and you said you put this one together your self, great job. I also like the feel of a 10 in. radius and I was wondering where you found it? You don't see them around too much unless it is already on a guitar like a ww 10's. You know great tone and have a feel to match. keep em comin!

  • @stratomars Hi, Yes that's right. I took the best features of a number of my favorite strats (a lot of the WW10 features) and made my own with all my favorite specs.

I used the 10" radius and the neck profile and the frets (6105) and the wood types from the WW10. Other specs on this guitar came from other guitars.

  • im a novice at guitar could you tell me what what key/scale is used in the medley? thanks good video!

  • I could tell even before the video started playing that you're Dutch =)

Anyway, great playing and great tone! And thanks for tabbing! I love this version too.

  • @bmwcabron OK, now I'm curious. How did you know?

  • @JazzInc It just struck me when I saw you. You look a bit like some Dutch friends I have. You seem to be tall, they have similar haircut... and the orange shirt ofcourse ;) Hup Holland! ;)

Thanks again for the tabs and tutorial! Great stuff!

  • What amp and settings are you using when you increase the reverb? Also how do you like the rode NT1A mic? I am torn between the NT1A and AT4040

  • @CharlieMac1977 The amp is a RedPlate BlackTweed and the reverb is coming from a TC Electronic G-Force which is built into the amp head and plugged in the Dumbleator FX loop of the Redplate. No other FX, just the reverb and the tone is all the Redplate. Most awesome amp.

I really like the NT1a. Best mic in that price range IMHO and even beats mics the are multiple times its price

  • Hey , Awesome job covering this song ! if you get a chance i'd like to hear your feedback on my version of this song...anyways, keep up the good work

    Tyler

  • thanks man, good job !!

    time to work...

  • Really fine tutorial, Joost!

I like John Mayer's music very much and you play it great with a wonderful sound from your self-built guitar. Bravo!

    Cheers,

    Bernd

  • sound quality fantastic a beautiful tone

    neillian

  • and now without a pick... :)

  • Hi Joost,

Goede vid ook, keep up the good work!

  • @vallorus Dank je! Ik ben er ook erg blij mee. Echt helemaal mijn gitaar geworden.

  • Yay !!!

Thank you so much for this lesson and the TAB !!

Your guitar sounds awesome !! Congratulations ! You have many talents !

Would love to have more videos from you, both acoustic and electric guitar videos.

    :)

  • @vybuot Thank you!!! I'll keep trying

  • Thanks for doing this!

By the way what kind of Strat is that? Looks nice

  • @dompascarella Thanks. I made this one myself. You can PM me if you want pictures. It's 2-piece Alder with off-center joint with a quarter-sawn maple neck and a Brazilian board. 10" radius, Stainless Steel 6105 frets and custom wound Leosounds pickups (based on his Vintage Player 66 pickups)
