Good video. It's an atv that was made street legal. Idk what's wrong with people today in all this "correctness". "it's not all terrain, stop calling it an atv." yada yada yada. If your not intelligent enough to understand that this idea derived from an ATV, then maybe you shouldn't be commenting. Great video, awesome toy, thought of the idea and searched it. =-P good to see someone did it.
Wow, a lot of sh!t talkers. If it works for you, then theres a market for it. I cant stand SUVs but there are people that swear by them. So quick to judge when they too have specific needs and wants.
I thinks its a great idea. I was actually building one of these in my head. Mine was going to be all aluminum, it was going to sit much lower to the ground and it would be powerd by a Ford 5.0 motor. It was going to be a totally new machine and think of the performance !!
I hope it dosent sound like I'm talking sh*t and you guys are much closer to building something like that than I am.
who cares what its called... its freakin awsome!! buy this, or a sportbike... nice to have options, i like the four wheels better than that can-am thing thats out, dumb looking thing... i bet it wouldnt be hard to add a little suspension lift to this for you haters, if you can afford it u can get it modded!! AND FYI check out the subaru one, AWSOME AS WELL!!
@vlad220 Or the point of a sports car that can't do Baja? Or the point of a sport bike that can't do triples? Or the point of a racecar if it doesn't have a place to haul your groceries?
@ATVTVCOM You don't call a sports car a baja truck, or a race car a grocery getter. His point was, it's not an ATV, so don't call it one. It's a quad, but NOT an All Terrain Vehicle.
@daBlade80 You could call a baja truck a racecar, and I've seen grocery-getters used as racecars. Or you could just say this is a cool toy and quit trying to worry about the fact that it doesn't go off road.......
@ATVTVCOM well, technically a baja truck is a race truck, and even if you use a grocery getter as a race car, it's still a grocery getter. And I'm just saying, it's a cool quad, but it ain't no atv. Now, what I would love to see is that STI quad that guy build with some good digging tires on it floating through a mud pit
They made that smart car , come on what is it a quad with body around it and that's legal give me a break your risking your life in that car ,right make it legal already!!!!???
@slapoutz Oh wow, let me check. Yeap, just as I thought, this thing was not intended to go through more mud than your civic. Odd, tt was intended to do donuts around your civic while still getting from your house (well, obviously not your house) but from home to a nice cafe up the coast faster than you can dig your civic out of the the mud. Plus it seems to attract a higher class of onlookers than civics ;-)
@ATVTVCOM lol i was just saying atvs should be made for offroading this isnt an atv more like a street bike with 4 wheels. and ive only got my civic stuck 1 time and that was because i was being stupid and knew i should have stopped and just pulled the trailer around by hand to the back it had rained alot the previous day so the yard was mush and i couldve backed out till i was to stubborn, civics will do more than people give credit, i pull atvs with mine =).
appears to me like you have to make it. just like turning a bike into a trike, add the duals to the front, then you'll be legal, BUT you'll get pulled over all the time, and change the title to quad (in some cases 'moped') its alot of work, but keep in mind to check local laws. theres always a loophole to every law
Huh? Didn't know that wheelies were a measurement of performance or handling? NASCAR and Formula 1 cars don't wheelie but they go like stink and have remarkable handling.
The only thing with this is that it doesn't look like it can go on "all terrain". Due to the low ground clearance. It could be called a POV. - Pavement Only Vehicle. Ha ha.
In Norway you can buy a atv and drive on the roads. They are registrated as a mc, but you need a car lisence to drive it. I enjoy my Outlander 800 max year round. In the winter i move snow with it and in the summer i have fantastic trips along the Norwegian roads. I get the same "freedom" feeling as on a mc.
But why dont they allow ATV's to be street legal? They are basically the same as a motorbike, but with 2 more wheels giving you alot more balance. That thing is hidious, but I guess if thats the closest we are going to get.. why not. But I would prefer the T-rex over that any day.
Yes four wheels gives you more balance at low speeds but at higher speeds you can't lean sideways like you can on a bike. I think it's the rollover hazard that has kept them off the streets in most states.
Actually I think what has kept them from being "legalized" for highway use in many states is that the states don't know how to classify them - although they have 4 wheels they do not have any of the safety features of a car and yet motorcycles are classified in their rules as having no more than 3 wheels. Only the government can be so confused ;-)
A few years back I saw some Kodiak's with road tires and PA plates. Honestly if you just get the added necessary equipment, speedo, turn signals, road tires, I believe that is really all you need. I have always wanted a street legal raptor.

this is not an "ATV" this vehicle is not designed to go on terrain that is not paved, therefore it is not an "ATV".

Also street legal in Ga. Just needs what a motorcycle has. Spedo, turn signals, etc
