  • Thanks for sharing knowledge, check out my Whitney Houston dedication Mastermix using this concept

  • and how did u get it to chop but BPM rather then hit points?

  • how did u get the sampler out to npc in?

  • I drag the sampler into the slicer & it automatically cuts its worse then anything i have ever seen in my life lol. this is a job for cubase

  • Jo thanx man !

  • Idk if you have FL10 or not, but I dont see anything in the settings that allow for both of those windows (FPC n Slicer) to be open at the same time. I had it worked out on FL9, but idk what it is with this FL10..

  • Legend man, just the info and help I was after. Thanks a bunch.

  • Comment removed

  • Helped a lot... Check my beats

  • my question is how do i get the pads to stop playing a sample once the pad is released...i only want the sample to play while i'm holding down the pad.

  • this is the only tutorial that actually helped, thanks so much dude! i really mean that

  • @the0ryyy glad i could help

  • is it possible to spread the sample on all the pads as tune - like the mpc? meaning - the bottom pads will play a lower tone of the sound and the upper pads play a higher tune

  • @Shake3music yes it is... i own a 2000xl, so i know what you mean!

  • @Shake3music thats where "cut by 1" comes in. hit me back if ur not understanding anything and ill help out as much as i can.

  • Thanks for the help!!

  • @Xionra no prob!

  • got them beats..

    thats what she said...

    obscene planet...

    takeover

  • Perfect

  • tanx fo hep

  • Thanks for you tutorial! But I got problems:

    - when im tryin to find the tempo, it never give me the real tempo

    - when i slice the sample and i play on my mpd, the chops are not assigned to the pads in the good order (ex. first chop pad 1 bank A, second chop pad 8 bank C). But when i use fpc, there is no problem when i push the pad

    - Maybe you explain that in your video, but im not good in english: how can i bring all the slice on the pads of the fpc? (not one by one)

    Thanks for all

  • but i dont ned a mpd i could use a keyboard too right

  • Great Vid, youve ans wered a lot of my problems with trying this setup. Is it possible using this setup to use the bottom 8 pads for a sliced track and have them cut as per the al green riff and the top 8 pads set to non cut so other loops can play out? Hope this makes sense. what im looking for is a vst that will let me play a loop in nuendo and then be able to trigger different loops from a nanopad , like a live jam.

  • where u get ur sounds samples from

  • I still dont understand how can he shows both FPC and Slicer, because he is talking like a "DIRTY BRONX NIGGAH YO NO WHAT M SAYIN YO"

  • Nuice tutorial. Thanks alot but that didn't solve my problem. I got a sample chopped and dropped on my fpc. Did what u said 'cut 1 by 1. I played the chopped sample. Arranged it on my step sequencer over a drum kick but each time the chopped sample lands on an empty space ( a break) without a drum kick backing it up, the sample continued to play. I would like it to stop immediately there is a break on my sequencer. I hope you understand my question. Thanks in anticipation

  • @jamhal73 i would try chopping off the part of the sample that plays out too long

  • @haymaker6543

  • I Really Appreciate This Tuto Man, Your A Genius!!

  • Thaaaank you!!!! Was too hard tryin to just sample wit the slicer.. preciate it!!

  • Great turtorial. Thanks for posting. I really don't understand your math with the chops in each bar. If there are four beats per bar and you have 2 bars. When you slide each bar into 4 chops, wouldn't you have 8 chops and not 16 chops? or did you chop each bar into eight pieces? Thanks.

  • Yo good lookin on this 1 B, I Ben tryin 2 find out how 2 use my MPD like my MPC...So when i drag the sample to FPC, it automatically send the sample 2 my MPD?? If not, How do i get the sample into my MPD after i chop them??...

  • thanks man

  • thank man!!!

  • hey man, thank you for the tutorial....i actually just got my MPD yesterday, so im still kinda new at this...i tried to assign one chop to each pad like you did, but it didnt really work....everytime i hit "learn" for each chop it would still play the same chop on a different pad. if you have any solution, please let me know!

    thanks!

    -Chris

  • thanks doozy, good look

  • This is exactly what i needed!!!!!

  • thanks for this tutorial homie

    informative!

  • yeah man .. one question i dont know how to cut even samples from songs i cant never cut them with the riddim if u kno what i mean

  • Good tut HotHandz, I've used the slicer before but not combined with the FPC. Shit I gotta get a good MPC, this computer keyboard shit ain't cuttin it anymore!

  • yeah i was going straight from edison into fpc, this makes more sense.. you should turn down the sample rate in your asio driver settings to remove the delay, say roughly 256

  • thanks

  • fuk it,i give up on fruity loops, shit is fuckin dumb

  • aint no point in tryna use fruity loops unless you got a full setup, without a real drum machine thing its, keyboards,n all the shit you got,its fuckin pointless,

  • iono a damn thing ur talkin about,i am fucking horrible at making beats,i wish knew how,im so horrible i fucking hate it,shit fucking angers me,iono the fuk u talkin bout

  • yo i been workin wit fruity loops for 4years. newknow how to run eyhing except the edison equo and fpc. i love the mpc but didnt know how the fuck to use the fpc!!!!!!! good lookin bra!!! that was well needed!!!

  • @hfvgnfhfh thanks a lot fam!

  • @hothandzent Thanks for takin the time brotha, and your a good teacher. Peace!!!!

  • nice bra

  • thank you!!

  • good post man. im just having trouble finding the settings that allows FPC and channel settings to be up at the same time, where is it at?

  • damn that beat is phat

  • thank very much!!

  • Thanks man your a big help.

  • Thank you!! more coming real soon!!

  • how did you migrate the sample u cut with fruity slicer into the pad like that?

  • Same answer I just gave to @OfficialDJCrack

  • thanks this tutorial came into good use.

  • Thank you for watching, glad I could help homie!!

  • how did you get the chops into FPC?

  • Drag them in from the slicer is how I do it... Did you figure it out?

  • thanks you helped alot

  • not a prob! I try!!!

  • @ first i was like I didn't know A.I. made beats???

    ...Dope explaination.

  • lolololololol... Good one!! lol Thanks for watching im really over here lol'n

  • Cheers, another good tutorial. A request from me would be do make a tutorial where you start a beat from scratch, pull a sample, work with the midi controller to chop the sample, make the beat. I'm new to all this and your tutorials have been helpful to me so far. Keep up the good work.

  • @27CD Thanks a lot for the love.. same thing goes for you that i told @MrMshr00m

  • Ah ok. Well I've got FL Studio 8 and an M-Audio Trigger Finger as a MIDI controller.

From what I understand it's more or less the same as having an MPD16/24, unless I'm wrong?

Just a tutorial where you take a sample, gets the bits you want from it and use your controller to chop the beats. It's more a case of knowing what to use from a sample and where to use it in the beat.

  • how do i record with fl , like i wana record what im doing with the sampler help !!!!!!

  • @MrMshr00m i need to know your setup b4 i just go into "how to" not everyone's setup is the same!!

  • thank you mate, but actualy got a sampler so i dont need help anymore , but i am very glad to see you wouldve taken the time to help a chap out, thank you mate :)

  • I didnt understand how you dragged all the 16 chops of your samples to the fpc at all. i can only drag the top part of the fruity slicer (the one that is currently selected at the time)

how did you drag all 16 at once?! and then make them playable in the FPC

  • @cKunke2 inbox me.. let me know you need me to remake that part and ill get on it a.s.i.c.

  • thanks alot homie! one question, how do i record what i hit on the pads to a beat i already made? and is there any way of using my pc keyboard as an mpc?

  • meaning what? did u make it in fl or r u importing it? i highly doubt you can use a keyboard as.. or should i say like and mpc and/or mpd..

  • i kinda did it by pressing ctrl T but i still cant seem to have all the pads, and when i record it doesnt take em well.

  • i would say your better off getting a midi controler of some sort vs. using your pc keyboard, although some ppl do do it!

  • its only a matter of time, what do you suggest? mpc? mpd? or a midi keyboard?

  • thanks man, the sample auto detect tempo comes in handy (y)

    peace!

  • not a prob.. thank you!!

  • Good looking

  • sure, thanks for watching

  • much help homie thanks;

  • anytime!!

  • you fuckin changed the way ill make beats in the future and ive been makin beats scince 82 and have been transitioning frm hardware to software i rock fl 7 but have eight and nine too fuck the mpc now thanks dog really

  • when u sample song like kanye do do u sample them with the vocals or with out the vocals and just the beat

  • either or.. it just depends on the sample itself!

  • he chops his shit up w the ensonic asr10 and mpc

  • are you stoned bro? ;D

    great tutorial

  • lol naaa I had a long night prior to making this vid.. (bar) no smoking for me. and thanks!

  • this helped me big time homie. Hopefully you can do more videos demo'ing edison (if you use it) and slicex.. shalom ach...
