I dont know whats worse... the fact that the routine is slow (not that theres anything wrong with it - im pretty sure both dancers could go extremely fast) ... or the fact that political correctness has managed to get todays society into thinking this is perverted, personally i think theres nothing sweeter than two generations sharing the same passion for dancers a these two :) ... ahh well, good dancing :)
@bxgirl and Hyruleland: Correction, the boy featured in "Invitation to the Dance" is NOT the same child actor in "Anchors Aweigh" That was Dean Stockwell in 1945. Just wanted to clarify...
From the 1956 MGM film "Invitation to the Dance", Gene Kelly's long dream to film a concert piece void of a plot that entirely featured dance. Though it was a box office disappointment, the film has many great choreographed numbers and was one of the first films to feature live action with animation. David Kasday was brilliant here with Gene Kelly.
David Kasday. He had quite a run during the '50's as a child actor, both on TV and in the movies. And he had bit parts in "An American in Paris" and "Singin' in the Rain", which is probably how he came to Kelly's attention. Kid sure could dance. Wow!

This is great - thought i'd seen all of Gene Kelly's work - David Kasday is tremendous - what a talent.

Wonder whatever happened to David Kasday? He just disappeared from performing after the early '60's.
