Jehovah's Witnesses rarely use the phrase "end of the World."
In fact they actually call it "the end of the system of things."
The reason is that JWs have very different idea about what the "end" is compared to Christendom in general who think of it as Nuclear War or some huge catastrophe and one most likely by human hand or error.

This is no more than attempting to figure out the meaning of what the end (not THE END) of the Gentile Times would mean. Indeed they DID end in 1914 according to the BIBLE'S prophecy. You may choose not to believe that. Fine. But there is no reason for any FALSE accusations about being a prophet.

The chapter before speaks of "the battle of the great day of God Almighty", so this is about Armageddon.
So you see that Russell associated Armageddon with 1914, as he later did with 1915, then 1918.

I remember 1975 very well and the years leading up to it. The book "Freedom.. Sons.." examined when Adam was created. It said clearly that is was an *IF* and Adam was created in 4028BC, then 1975 would mark the "end of six thousand years of human history."
Indeed I also clearly recall there was a discussion among witnesses themselves, for how long Adam was by himself before Eve was created? It was Eve's creation that ended the 6th creative day and started the 7th. Many thought it may well have taken YEARS, so 1975 would NOT have marked 6000 years into the 7th day.
Indeed I think that's obvious now, we are still NOT yet six thousand years into the 7th day.
Since Jesus said no-one knew the hour, many a witness discounted 1975 as possible.

Jehova has always used imperfect men to spread the truth. i.e. david, paul. therefore Russell was a tool used by Jehova.Third, according to proverbs 4:18 the true religion will be progressive revealing more truth as time passes. Your right and your wrong. Jehovah's Witnesses individually do not claim to be prophets but collectively the annointed have been called Jehovah's prophet by the 'Watchtower Magazine'. Sooooo collectively the annointed(the 144,000) are false prophets and will be punished by Jehovah. There is still time to repent. Publicly admit your sins and beg for God's forgiveness. What makes you think it is near now at this time? Don't you think that those who lived in the 14th century must have thought it was near in their time? Any reading of the history of the 14th century shows it to be one of the most awful times in history. Great Natural Disasters, The little ice age in which world temperatures fell, advancing glaciers, heavy rains, crop failures, famines and epidemics. The Black Death in which some estimate that almost half the population of Europe died.

My facts would be nothing to you, but they are to me. I have the Wt's from July 1879 to July 1919 (the original Wt reprints printed by the Wt org itself in 1919) then my collections starts again in 1942 untill 2005. The Awakes, I have from 1955 untill 2006. Plus several old books like the studies in the Scriptures series.
I can give you quotes from all the 6 Armageddons that were predicted and you would just need to purchase those Wts or books on ebay.

well, i know miscalculations were made in the early history. the 1975 thing, the wbts never gave that date. my mother was a witness then. some people formed there own opinions and went off on there own, sold homes etc... that was there fault.

I was downtown passing out Gospel tracks and a JW gave me an invitation to their "Keep on the Watch" conference that will be held for 3 days this month in my ctiy. I am seriously considering going for one of the days. Anybody have any advice?

Jehovah's Witnesses rarely use the phrase "end of the World."
In fact they actually call it "the end of the system of things."
The reason is that JWs have very different idea about what the "end" is compared to Christendom in general who think of it as Nuclear War or some huge catastrophe and one most likely by human hand or error.
JEHOVAH'S WITNESSES DO ***NOT*** BELIEVE IN THAT KIND ON AN "END."
Read Revelation 19 and THEN you will have a better idea.

Let me explain something:
Often when two people use the same words, they may actually means something differently.
For ex: After 9/11 many Muslims said "It is God's Will."
Many Westerners were INFURIATED when they heard this. But they really had no reason to be upset, as that phrase meant something different to Muslims.
From a Muslim's point of view it meant it could only have happened if it had been allowed by God.
It didn't mean God MADE 911 happen.
This often also happens to JWs.

It was Eve's creation that ended the 6th creative day and started the 7th. Many thought it may well have taken YEARS, so 1975 would NOT have marked 6000 years into the 7th day.
Indeed I think that's obvious now, we are still NOT yet six thousand years into the 7th day.

Jehova has always used imperfect men to spread the truth. i.e. david, paul. therefore Russell was a tool used by Jehova.Third, according to proverbs 4:18 the true religion will be progressive revealing more truth as time passes. Fourth, Matt. 7:15-20 shows that you can discern false prophets and workers of lawlessness based on their fruit.

Your right and your wrong. Jehovah's Witnesses individually do not claim to be prophets but collectively the annointed have been called Jehovah's prophet by the 'Watchtower Magazine'. Sooooo collectively the annointed(the 144,000) are false prophets and will be punished by Jehovah. There is still time to repent. Publicly admit your sins and beg for God's forgiveness. The Almighty is capable of forgiving all sins no matter how great. Repeat before it is too late.

Any reading of the history of the 14th century shows it to be one of the most awful times in history. Great Natural Disasters, The little ice age in which world temperatures fell, advancing glaciers, heavy rains, crop failures, famines and epidemics. The Black Death in which some estimate that almost half the population of Europe died.

what if it is true that the end of the world will come maybe today, tomorrow, next week or next month? I'm not a religious guy but i remember a reading from a bible, something like, Jesus will come without a warning. its like a thief that he will rock our world something like that. so i believe that we should be prepared for it.

They draw too much attention to themselves by going door to door, so I decided to investigate the religion by gathering a collection of old books. So I ended up with a pretty big collection of Watchtower books and magazines.
I have some inspiration for comedy so I decided apply it to the Watchtower nonsense. Islam is an other fuck up religion that draws too much attention but people are too politicaly correct to expose it much. I guess they're scared. I may start joke account for Islam.

My facts would be nothing to you, but they are to me. I have the Wt's from July 1879 to July 1919 (the original Wt reprints printed by the Wt org itself in 1919) then my collections starts again in 1942 untill 2005. The Awakes, I have from 1955 untill 2006. Plus several old books like the studies in the Scriptures series.
I can give you quotes from all the 6 Armageddons that were predicted and you would just need to purchase those Wts or books on ebay.

well, i know miscalculations were made in the early history. the 1975 thing, the wbts never gave that date. my mother was a witness then. some people formed there own opinions and went off on there own, sold homes etc... that was there fault.
