@TheBishulama , Chinese people already freed Tibet when they kicked the slave master, Tenzin Gyatso, out of Tibet in 1959. That's why the Serf Emancipation day is celebrated every year. LOL!
Hello bloody Maohammet,, Your name start with MAO ,, so,, you support chinese government of Communism,, listen, care fully whatever you bloody communism cruel and proudy concept do but Democracy will win end of the day,, What is good about Chinese progress in economy ,, that their nationalists has to protest against China in another nations,,
@sharmacareer, look dude, I am not communist but a proud Chinese. Don't assume people who stand up for their country or people as Communist. If you are so great, why don't all you folks leave Australia and hand the land back to the aborigines. LOL!
Ass hole Dalai Lama disinvited to Special Olympics
A letter from the Dalai Lama's office that came across the citydesk indicates that an invitation to attend the Special Olympics World Games opening ceremonies in Boise next week had been withdrawn.
Nobody knows how its come to the protest. I think there are chinese involvement in this case.
In Tibet, since 1987 it was always CALM. The China communist party have to find a way how they can inwardly make the tibet matter an end, therefore they stage a revolt.
Do you know what happens next? The Chines Police arrest innocent humans and torture they! But this not just in Tibet also in CHINA!
Ur points are incorrect since Tibet was NOT always calm since 1987. March 10,2008 was the fiftieth anniversary of Dalai Lama's exile to India. that's where the issue comes from.
By the way, are you a journalist? Were you in Tibet last year's March? How could u conclude that Chinese Police arrested INNOCENT tibetans!?!
While in general, I agree that there are case of illegal arrest in China, but please admit that this also happens in ur countries no matter u are from US of Europe. Latest news, a 12 years old black girl was shot and die by a US police and the court concluded the cop innocent. Can u conclude that US is a dictatorial, undemocratic and racial discriminated country from this single case? If u can, I would accept ur opinion, Otherwise u r following double standards
The BBC is also biased for not complying with international regulations on legal standard names because it never uses the correct name, "Persian Gulf," in its reports. What it does is that it vandalizes a historical name, of which is a part of the Persian heritage. This is not only an insult to my country. But, it's also an insult to journalism as a whole, since it promotes inaccuracy and dishonesty, not to mention an insult to historical/geographical truth!
i'm not agreeing with the violence. & u really cannot compare the situation in Tibet to gay rights in the western world... Believe me, you have a lot more rights & are more likely to be accepted than once upon a time. Think where you'd be now if there hadn't been protests for gay rights & many of the protests turned to riots also. but, it paid off, didn't it??
when peaceful protests fall on deaf ears & the only response the people get is the heavy handed police action. Then yes it'll turn to riots. We can keep going round & round, you will not change my mind. Sorry.
Also capital punishment being applied to minor offences so forth & so on.I assure you that if Tibetans were granted autonomy over their lands the riots would stop protesting's not a crime however whenever there are protest in Tibet the police apply heavy force whether it's warranted or not
eg 4 you
If the USA suddenly decided to invade China & enforced their ideals & beliefs all the while proclaiming that they were elevating the quality of life BELIEVE me every chinese person would protest
that's exactly what i mean about about censorship & infraction of freedom of speech. you've made my case in case you hadn't noticed.obviously China would not publish the correct number(that proves nothing)
there are numerous accounts of the number of deaths & most agree that it was closer to a million. If the PRC had nothing to fear nor hide there would be no need for censorship on media coverage. The mere fact the gov has such a stranglehold on their people also proves breach of human rights
where to start.. BTW(u're turning this debate into an anti-China sentiment which is not what i mean at all) but as u ask... there's the lack of freedom of speech, censorship, Capital punishment, the invasion of Tibet which saw over a million tibetans killed and treated as a minority in their own country, the policy that any monastery in Tibet can only have a total of 700 monks, need i go on, or do the examples above suffice?? Don't blame the people in Tibet if they've had enough!
BTW u ask why the GOV doesn't trouble anybody else. I believe China holds the record for breach of human rights so it's a case that the people know that if they speak out they'll be tortured & likely killed. also a small question in the vid i see 2 men stoning another they're not wearing nationality I.D cards over their head so it could be any number of scenarios happening & not the 1 titled. but check out the vid it's in reply to... cannot mistake it at all nor conjecture!! i rest my case!!
i thought i was quite clear. i said the CHINESE GOV SHOULD STOPTHE OPPRESSION OF TIBET! what does that entail... AUTONOMY... i don't believe western media & if i were u, i wouldn't believe the chinese media either!! face it, China is run by communist oppressors... If Tibetans wish their freedom as is displayed by the protest, they're entitled to it. Also i don't think it's accidental that foreign media cannot report in China. now YOU think about that. don't always believe the enemy is the West
mr dalai lama u are terrorist.... u must apolgise for the burning down of masjid in lhasa..... dont worry my dear muslim brothers in tibet... we wont forget ur plight... look out tibetans... khilafah is coming soon...
Free Tibet... You could just as well say Free Basque-Land, or Free Flanders...
Btw if Free Tibet would go free, all the other ethnic groups in China would want to be independent to and the "communist" party might collapse (like all the other dynasties did) by there own people. Everybody would move in to the cities (which they can't do now) and favelas like in Sao Paulo would turn up where the maffia control the streets and where there is a general poverty, disease and hunger.
To the western media, they will say the two red guys are actually police and the one in the motorcycle somehow he wants to FREE TIBET ! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
I don't see this "Free Tibet" campaign going anywhere. It's more like they're promoting violence. I don't get why people still want to "Free Tibet" when the Chinese government helped Tibet when 90% of it's citizens were serfs.
North Korean women sold into Chinese farms live like animals, beaten and sexually abused by their Chinese husbands. In many instances North Korean women have to please all of the men in a Chinese household just to get food.
How much longer must we sit and watch these women live such horrific lives in North Korea and be sold off for just W46,000?
source: united nation annual convention on human rights 2008.
u rnt even north korea so u making stufff up cusae we kicked ur ass in korea war? wat do u guys have trying to be like the US well atleast say stuff like dat when u have the power
hey these kids need guns so they can take on the chinese army aye. thugs like china aren't going to listen to diplomacy from Tibetans that unfortunately in their view 'don't have bargaining power'.
All nationalist Tibetans are to China are hurdles to having an apolitical olympics. Here's a way to show China, don't watch the games.
If people came into your country and colonized a once-sacred land wouldn't you get fed up?
Ugh you commenters are so ill-informed. So a few youths beat up some Chinese people? Thats like complaining that some Jewish people fought back during WWII's holocaust! If your people were victims of genocide, what would you feel like? Sometimes the youth cannot handle the nonviolence that the Dalai Lama and other monks try..
i've been hearing alot about free Tibet, and how bad china is and everybody should boycott the Olympics, why is that?
oh yeah america the country that has stolen from the native Americans
or Australia the country which was stolen from the aborigines and theses people did not even get recognise as people till the 1960's and england which boasted about its empire which where all stolen (too many too list)
what the fuck?
i look at the western culture and the damage it has caused already
I wanted to ask a Free Tibet person, rioter, protester whatever....can you explain to me what the fuck does all this mean. I've been hearing it everywhere..
well.. if you are suggesting this is fake.. i don't see why they make a fake video with only so little people.. even it is real it seem to be rather weak.. sinse there are no store been destory, nor anyone been hurt really..
How about free Iraq first, I think more people have died there over Bush's lies and oil than Tibetans have died in the past century. Fuck the US, its just trying to embarass the world's next superpower when in fact it doesnt give a shit about Tibet and some monks because they aren't christians.
you're equating extremist muslims with tibetan buddhists?? they wish to be free from chinese rule but, they are oppressed. I think it's about time they revolted!
you say the Dalai Lama is fake! he has made numerous pleads for people to make it a peaceful protest. FREE TIBET!!
you would call the situation in which they find themselves at this mopment of time, freedom?
i'd call it oppression, personally! but, we're all entitled to our opinion... still i say FREE TIBET from Chinese rule!! & thank you... i can now can myself a genius!!
wow...how you enlighten me w/ ur words (it's sarcasm in case u didn't get it)...i stand by what i wrote, & no amount of queer comments will change it. if you DO have a point i dare you to actually make it, rather than merely calling names... how much of an idiot can u be, that u do consider Tibet free, when for years they've been trying to gain autonomy... Tibet is oppressed by the Chinese governament FACT... & no i don't get my facts from CNN...
So where did you get your facts from? Tell me which ethnic minority group are not oppressed. Was the Irish; Welsh and Scots not been oppressed by their English masters for centuries. Were the indigenous people of the so call British Empire not been ruthlessly murdered by their white conquerors? Free Tibet, a Tibetan's dream but the Whiteman's conspiracy to gain control of the region after 2 centuries of unsuccessful conquest. Will I am assumping that you are white and English.....
if we're assuming, then i can only assume you're chinese.
2 if you want 2 talk history, we'll be here all day. i first became aware of the tibetan situation, when i started making plans to visit. the bureaucracy just to enter into the country is astounding.
no, the whiteman is not trying to gain control, but yes the chinese governament is abusing, torturing & oppressing the tibetans. if everything was as rosy as you'd like me to believe such protests wouldn't be taking place. i'm not white BTW
So enlighten me with your understanding of the issue. So you said you encountered bureaucracy when trying to enter the country, and assumed that I am Chinese. Yes ethnically I am, and I too encountered the same treatment when trying to enter Tibet, so what difference does that make?
i was replying to nobonesar, who told me i got my facts from CNN & again i will say... should people not learn from errors past, rather than perpetuating it? yes, in the past all you said did occur, & in some cases it still does...but, i no more condone those actions than i do the Chinese govt action in this day & age towards Tibet. Also, somehow you seem to excuse the situation as Well, that's how it is in China. If people do not speak up against it, it will never change. & that's a fact
There's no denying to the Chinese government torturing and abusing Tibetans. Is the same fated suffered by other 56 ethnic groups in China. Torture is a common crime used by the martial police to control individual's freedom; anyone opposing the communist party will be torture & murder.
Whiteman don't wanted to control Tibetan, umm so whiteman don't wanted to control Africa or exterminate the Aboriginals people.
forgive me, but you seem to counteracting merely for the sake of arguing... who is denying that many a race suffered at the hands of the white man..is this your only argument, that as the white man did it so should the chinese? Have you ever been to Africa? the white man relinquished their control of those nations quite a few decades ago, i should know. Moreover, those nations are now trying to rebuild themselves with the help of the white man. What China is doing in this day & age is despicable
Bullshit. U beleive that shit about the white man relinquishing their control because then u can sleep better without remorse of consciousness.
Nothing has been relinquished. Its the ones who control the money that has the power... The same is the case in all of the western capitalistic world... What else!!
Again..if you wish to speak about the African, then i advise you go there 1st. I am of african descend & have been there a few times.. Trust me the white man no longer has a chokehold in Africa (unless we're talking weapons which is a separate matter). Again just because the white man did it eons ago it means the chinese can as well??(get a grip). The white man has tried to "correct" their ways, the chinese gov. should relinquish power in Tibet. That is all i'm saying!! you don't have 2 like it
unlike you, i don't get my facts from UT...Thank you very much!! Again, you're merely counteracting for the sake of arguing!! i'm not talking about the past..i'm talking about NOW!! the Chinese govt should stop the oppression of Tibet!! If i've said it once, i've said it a million times & i'll keep saying it!! FREE TIBET!! whichever guise it'll come under!!
Rioters are so young and naive, they don't know the true history and persecution of their grandparents by the Lama king and warlords when they were slaves. Treated worse than animals! Brothers and sisters of the world. Please don't believe the lies of the lamas who made grandpa slave! Please don't allow Tibet to be run the same way as it was when 95% population was slaves under lama. Life is not perfect, but is much better now. We now have hospitals, education, there was police and safety.
Ok, Mao's army was one of them, but don't forget that it was also invaded by the Mongols, British, Nepals, and Russians, then finally China came along. Then afterwards China sents thousands of workers over there to help set up a civilized, educated society. Guess that was a bad idea huh...
If you haven't from history already installing a religious or any government by majority, especially separating race is a bad idea; take for example Hitlers regime or the unsuccessful KKK.
What does that have to do with this video. This is about Tibetans STARTING the riot, killing and harming innocents, and everyone is saying FREE TIBET crap.
In the words of Mr T, I pity the fool who believes this crap. Just some bullshit made to convince people that the Chinese are doing the right thing by invading Tibet and murdering innocent people who simply don't agree with their communist policies.
CHINESE ARE THE MOST RACIST COUNTRY IN ASIA!!! They say that Korea and Japan are racist.... THE CHINESE DONT EVEN GIVE RIGHTS TO UIGHURS AND TIBETANS!!
BOYCOTT 2008 OLYMPICS, CHINESE ARE BARBARIANS!!!!!!!
Free all the black people in US. An unarmed 23 year old black man, Sean Bell, was shot to death by the police hours before his wedding. The cold blood murderer was discharged by the court.
In short, US State Department and US intelligence community finger prints are all over the upsurge around the Free Tibet movement and the anti-Han Chinese attacks of March. The question to be asked is why, and especially why now?
Among related projects, the US Government-financed NED also supports the Tibet Times newspaper, run out of the Dalai Lama's exile base at Dharamsala, India. The NED also funds the Tibet Multimedia Center for "information dissemination that addresses the struggle for human rights and democracy in Tibet," also based in Dharamsala. And NED finances the Tibetan Center for Human Rights and Democracy.
How many people check old BBC archives? Wu, a retired Berkeley professor who left China after imprisonment as a dissident, is head of the Laogai Research Foundation, a tax-exempt organization whose main funding is from the NED.
Harry Wu is another prominent Dalai Lama supporter against Beijing. He became notorious for claiming falsely in a 1996 Playboy interview that he had "videotaped a prisoner whose kidneys were surgically removed while he was alive, and then the prisoner was taken out and shot. The tape was broadcast by BBC." The BBC film showed nothing of the sort, but the damage was done.
The SFT was among five organizations which this past January that proclaimed start of a "Tibetan people's uprising" on Jan 4 this year and co-founded a temporary office in charge of coordination and financing.
Another especially active anti-Beijing organization is the US-based Students for a Free Tibet, founded in 1994 in New York City as a project of US Tibet Committee and the NED-financed International Campaign for Tibet (ICT). The SFT is most known for unfurling a 450 foot banner atop the Great Wall in China; calling for a free Tibet, and accusing Beijing of wholly unsubstantiated claims of genocide against Tibet. Apparently it makes good drama to rally naïve students.
The most prominent pro-Dalai Lama Tibet independence organization today is the International Campaign for Tibet, founded in Washington in 1988. Since at least 1994 the ICT has been receiving funds from the NED. The ICT awarded their annual Light of Truth award in 2005 to Carl Gershman, founder of the NED. Other ICT award winners have included the German Friedrich Naumann Foundation and Czech leader, Vaclav Havel.
American intelligence historian, William Blum states, "The NED played an important role in the Iran-Contra affair of the 1980s, funding key components of Oliver North's shadowy "Project Democracy." This network privatized US foreign policy, waged war, ran arms and drugs, and engaged in other equally charming activities. In 1987, a White House spokesman stated that those at NED "run Project Democracy."
The first acting President of the NED, Allen Weinstein, commented to the Washington Post that, "A lot of what we [the NED] do today was done covertly 25 years ago by the CIA."
The NED was founded by the Reagan Administration in the early 1980's, on the recommendation of Bill Casey, Reagan's Director of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), following a series of high-publicity exposures of CIA assassinations and destabilizations of unfriendly regimes. The NED was designed to pose as an independent NGO, one step removed from the CIA and Government agencies so as to be less conspicuous, presumably.
As in the other recent Color Revolutions, the US Government is fanning the flames of destabilization against China by funding opposition protest organizations inside and outside Tibet through its arm, the National Endowment for Democracy (NED).
The NED has been instrumental in every US-backed Color Revolution destabilization from Serbia to Georgia to Ukraine to Myanmar. Its funds go to back opposition media and global public relations campaigns to popularize their pet opposition candidates.
With help of the CIA, the Dalai Lama fled to Dharamsala, India where he lives to the present. He continues to receive millions of dollars in backing today, not from the CIA but from a more innocuous-sounding CIA front organization, funded by the US Congress, the National Endowment for Democracy (NED).
According to declassified US intelligence documents released in the late 1990s, "for much of the 1960s, the CIA provided the Tibetan exile movement with $1.7 million a year for operations against China, including an annual subsidy of $180,000 for the Dalai Lama."
The Dalai Lama's second-eldest brother, Gyalo Thondup, established an intelligence operation with the CIA in 1951. It was later upgraded into a CIA-trained guerrilla unit whose recruits parachuted back into Tibet, according to Parenti.
As author Michael Parenti notes in his work, Friendly Feudalism: The Tibet Myth, "during the 1950s and 60s, the CIA actively backed the Tibetan cause with arms, military training, money, air support and all sorts of other help." The US-based American Society for a Free Asia, a CIA front, publicized the cause of Tibetan resistance, with the Dalai Lama's eldest brother, Thubtan Norbu, playing an active role in the group.
Leaving aside at this point the claim of the Dalai Lama to divinity, what is indisputable is that he has been surrounded and financed in significant part, since his flight into Indian exile in 1959, by various US and Western intelligence services and their gaggle of NGOs. It is the agenda of the Washington friends of the Dalai Lama that is relevant here.
The Dalai Lama urged that Pinochet not be forced to go to Spain where he was wanted to stand trial for crimes against humanity. The Dalai Lama had close ties to Miguel Serrano, head of Chile's National Socialist Party, a proponent of something called esoteric Hitlerism.
That sole friendship, of course, does not define a person's character, but it is interesting in the context of later friends. In April 1999, along with Margaret Thatcher, and former Beijing Ambassador, CIA Director and President, George H.W. Bush, the Dalai Lama demanded the British government release Augusto Pinochet, the former fascist dictator of Chile and a longtime CIA client who was visiting England.
When he was 11 and already designated Dalai Lama, he was befriended by Heinrich Harrer, a Nazi Party member and officer of Heinrich Himmler's feared SS. Far from the innocent image of him in the popular Hollywood film with Brad Pitt, Harrer was an elite SS member at the time he met the 11 year old Dalai Lama and became his tutor in "the world outside Tibet." While only the Dalai Lama knows the contents of Harrer's private lessons, the two remained friends until Harrer died a ripe 93 in 2006.
The Dalai Lama travels in what can only be called rather conservative political circles. What is generally forgotten today is that during the 1930's the Nazis including Gestapo chief Heinrich Himmler and other top Nazi Party leaders regarded Tibet as the holy site of the survivors of the lost Atlantis, and the origin of the "Nordic pure race."
Dalai Lama's odd friends In the West the image of the Dalai Lama has been so much promoted that in many circles he is deemed almost a God. While the spiritual life of the Dalai Lama is not our focus, it is relevant to note briefly the circles he has chosen to travel in most of his life.
The Dalai Lama has been on the CIA payroll since the late 1950s. He is an instrument of US intelligence. An understanding of this longstanding relationship to the CIA is essential, particularly in the light of recent events. In all likelihood US intelligence was behind the protest movement, organized to occur a few months prior to the Beijing Olympic games. Dalai Lama: America's Puppet
I followed your line of events and thought up to a certain point, but when you talk about the US supporting the pro Tibet/anti Chinese sentiment, you lost me. If your previous statements had any truth to them, then this one can not be true. This position would be in direct conflict with the US's failure to recognize or support Tibet. As well as their granting of "Most Favored Nation" to China. What other country can continue to send tainted products into the US without any retribution?
The US news media are filled with stories about events unfolding in Tibet. The sources of the reports are shadowy and unknown. If past practice is any indicator, it is likely that the U.S. State Department and the CIA are their primary sources
Similarly, in 1959, when the Dalai Lama fled to exile in India after a failed revolt and declared Tibetan independence, Britain, India and the United States again continued to accept Tibet as part of China.
For political and economic self-interest, these democracies instead continued to accept Chinese suzerainty over Tibet. Consequently, when Mao Zedong sent his army to incorporate Tibet into the People's Republic of China in 1950, Britain, India and the United States not only did not assist Tibet, but also blocked Tibet's appeal for help to the United Nations.
Tibet became (de facto) independent in 1911 after the Manchu dynasty fell. But this independence was never accepted by either the Chinese governments that succeeded the Manchu or by Britain, India and the United States, the democracies with whom Tibet had the closest ties.
Understanding Tibetan history requires an understanding of the key role that the United States and other democratic nations played in molding both sides' views and influencing their decisions.
The uprising was initiated with murderous pogrom-like attacks by Tibetan gangs on non-Tibetan members of the population, including the Muslim Chinese minority. Numerous deaths of non-Tibetans provoked a reaction of the Chinese security forces.
The plans were developed with the collaboration of the US State Department and the self-proclaimed Tibetan Government in Exile and call for high profile actions along the route of the Olympic Torch Relay and are supposed to reach a climax in August during the games in Beijing. The campaign began already last summer and is now profiting from the current uprising in the west of the People's Republic of China that is receiving prominent coverage in the German media.
According to this information, the campaign is being orchestrated from a Washington based headquarters. It had been assigned the task of organizing worldwide "protests" at a conference organized by the Friedrich Naumann Foundation (affiliated with the German Free Democratic Party - FDP) in May 2007.
Conference reports and the research of a Canadian journalist reveal that a German Foreign Ministry front organization is playing a decisive role in the preparations of the anti-Chinese Tibet campaign.

1. No other country's government official recognises Tibet as an independant country. What makes you think you pitiful western student campaigners think it should be?
2. True, the ROC government had little control over Tibet due to warlordism, japanese invasion and civil war. But does that mean any part of the country can claim independance? No it doesn't.
3. Tibet has been part of China from the Yuan Dynasty through Ming, Qing, ROC and now PRC.
Stop living in that past.forgive and definitely not forget-however also learn not to do what they did.remember china tried to conquer other nations in its long history too.remember china colonized vietnam for one millenium-you didnt know that huh dummy. that is way longer than the time the euros dominated asia...continue below
Tibetans are not chinese--get that in ur brain. vietnam kicked dirtyt chinese out of vietnam with force but the tibetans are nonfighters--they are weak and you support a china that suppresses other asians. "sxith" u dummy-dont know what ur talking about
what will be the consequence if tibet is freed from the china government? US will not help them because there is no oil and other natural resources! the tibetans are living peacefully recently, don't disturb their life by creating chaos! u ppl have done so in Myanmar, don't do it in other countries! the ppl as shown in "Poso" and "Hunted like animals" need your help more than the tibetans! use your wisdom if u have!
what is so important of Freedom of religion and speech? u look at india, the biggest democratic country in the world, but they are not united bcoz of different religion and ethnics! think abt it!
They do need freedom but only for religion or speech. but i am thinking that if they really have freedom for everything, China would have been 'freed' to several countries. Their society is full of greediness. they'd rather split to several small region ruled by themselves. (the premise is they do have freedom for everything) You have to look at different aspects, not only on politics; We also need to consider the impact of degree on the humanity by their eduation.
China is weak nation that can only pick on a nation without a military like Tibet.Hey China-try doing that to Japan-yeah i thought so.Some of you might say that China is a nation that can fight in that it made the US retreat during the Korean war.Remember that without Truman - Big MacArthur would've nuclear-bombed you back to the pre-stone age.Remember Nanking where the Japanese took the city without firing one bullet because its defenders got out of "Dodge".I'm Asian and I support a free Tibet.
im asian too, but ask your US to fuck off fr Iraq n afgan! don't ever invade other nations! US should return the america land to the native and fuck bk to Europe before you ask china to free tibet! understand?
I'll tel you what is really going on. Taiwan and Japan are building network of BUDDHIST TERRORISTS called "The Base". Meantime, secretly they are developing WMD. So right after the Olympics you should annex them. A good date for the invasion would be September 1st 2009. This will give you time to burn Reichstag and bomb your World Trade Center. By the way, Tell Hu Jintao tu lern how to paint and to buy himself a cowboy hat.
of course if anyone come into your home and fucks everything up then you have every right to beat the shit out of those communist cunts.

Ass hole Dalai Lama disinvited to Special Olympics
A letter from the Dalai Lama's office that came across the citydesk indicates that an invitation to attend the Special Olympics World Games opening ceremonies in Boise next week had been withdrawn.
goldenkey007 3 years ago
Nobody knows how its come to the protest. I think there are chinese involvement in this case.
In Tibet, since 1987 it was always CALM. The China communist party have to find a way how they can inwardly make the tibet matter an end, therefore they stage a revolt.
Do you know what happens next? The Chines Police arrest innocent humans and torture they! But this not just in Tibet also in CHINA!
How they chinese people can ignore that?!
It's very doleful...
Khelen87 3 years ago
Ur points are incorrect since Tibet was NOT always calm since 1987. March 10,2008 was the fiftieth anniversary of Dalai Lama's exile to India. that's where the issue comes from.
By the way, are you a journalist? Were you in Tibet last year's March? How could u conclude that Chinese Police arrested INNOCENT tibetans!?!
xkshq 3 years ago 3

Think where you'd be now if there hadn't been protests for gay rights & many of the protests turned to riots also. but, it paid off, didn't it??
devilish84 3 years ago
when peaceful protests fall on deaf ears & the only response the people get is the heavy handed police action. Then yes it'll turn to riots. We can keep going round & round, you will not change my mind. Sorry.
devilish84 3 years ago
Also capital punishment being applied to minor offences so forth & so on.I assure you that if Tibetans were granted autonomy over their lands the riots would stop protesting's not a crime however whenever there are protest in Tibet the police apply heavy force whether it's warranted or not
eg 4 you
If the USA suddenly decided to invade China & enforced their ideals & beliefs all the while proclaiming that they were elevating the quality of life BELIEVE me every chinese person would protest
devilish84 3 years ago
that's exactly what i mean about about censorship & infraction of freedom of speech. you've made my case in case you hadn't noticed.obviously China would not publish the correct number(that proves nothing)
there are numerous accounts of the number of deaths & most agree that it was closer to a million. If the PRC had nothing to fear nor hide there would be no need for censorship on media coverage. The mere fact the gov has such a stranglehold on their people also proves breach of human rights
devilish84 3 years ago
where to start.. Don't blame the people in Tibet if they've had enough!
devilish84 3 years ago
BTW u ask why the GOV doesn't trouble anybody else. I believe China holds the record for breach of human rights so it's a case that the people know that if they speak out they'll be tortured & likely killed. also a small question in the vid i see 2 men stoning another they're not wearing nationality I.D cards over their head so it could be any number of scenarios happening & not the 1 titled. but check out the vid it's in reply to... cannot mistake it at all nor conjecture!! i rest my case!!
devilish84 3 years ago
i thought i was quite clear. i said the CHINESE GOV SHOULD STOPTHE OPPRESSION OF TIBET! what does that entail... AUTONOMY... i don't believe western media & if i were u, i wouldn't believe the chinese media either!! face it, China is run by communist oppressors... If Tibetans wish their freedom as is displayed by the protest, they're entitled to it. Also i don't think it's accidental that foreign media cannot report in China. now YOU think about that. don't always believe the enemy is the West

Will I am assumping that you are white and English.....

no, the whiteman is not trying to gain control, but yes the chinese governament is abusing, torturing & oppressing the tibetans. if everything was as rosy as you'd like me to believe such protests wouldn't be taking place. i'm not white BTW
devilish84 3 years ago
So enlighten me with your understanding of the issue. So you said you encountered bureaucracy when trying to enter the country, and assumed that I am Chinese. Yes ethnically I am, and I too encountered the same treatment when trying to enter Tibet, so what difference does that make?
cont....
hakkawarrior 3 years ago
i was replying to nobonesar, who told me i got my facts from CNN & again i will say... should people not learn from errors past, rather than perpetuating it? yes, in the past all you said did occur, & in some cases it still does...but, i no more condone those actions than i do the Chinese govt action in this day & age towards Tibet. Also, somehow you seem to excuse the situation as Well, that's how it is in China. If people do not speak up against it, it will never change. & that's a fact
devilish84 3 years ago
There's no denying to the Chinese government torturing and abusing Tibetans. Is the same fated suffered by other 56 ethnic groups in China. Torture is a common crime used by the martial police to control individual's freedom; anyone opposing the communist party will be torture & murder.
Whiteman don't wanted to control Tibetan, umm so whiteman don't wanted to control Africa or exterminate the Aboriginals people.
hakkawarrior 3 years ago
forgive me, but you seem to counteracting merely for the sake of arguing... who is denying that many a race suffered at the hands of the white man..is this your only argument, that as the white man did it so should the chinese? Have you ever been to Africa? the white man relinquished their control of those nations quite a few decades ago, i should know. Moreover, those nations are now trying to rebuild themselves with the help of the white man. What China is doing in this day & age is despicable
devilish84 3 years ago
Bullshit. U beleive that shit about the white man relinquishing their control because then u can sleep better without remorse of consciousness.

Again just because the white man did it eons ago it means the chinese can as well??(get a grip). The white man has tried to "correct" their ways, the chinese gov. should relinquish power in Tibet.

In 1987, a White House spokesman stated that those at NED "run Project Democracy."
azzip900 3 years ago
The first acting President of the NED, Allen Weinstein, commented to the Washington Post that, "A lot of what we [the NED] do today was done covertly 25 years ago by the CIA."
azzip900 3 years ago
The NED was founded by the Reagan Administration in the early 1980's, on the recommendation of Bill Casey, Reagan's Director of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), following a series of high-publicity exposures of CIA assassinations and destabilizations of unfriendly regimes. The NED was designed to pose as an independent NGO, one step removed from the CIA and Government agencies so as to be less conspicuous, presumably.
azzip900 3 years ago
As in the other recent Color Revolutions, the US Government is fanning the flames of destabilization against China by funding opposition protest organizations inside and outside Tibet through its arm, the National Endowment for Democracy (NED).
azzip900 3 years ago
The NED has been instrumental in every US-backed Color Revolution destabilization from Serbia to Georgia to Ukraine to Myanmar. Its funds go to back opposition media and global public relations campaigns to popularize their pet opposition candidates.

With help of the CIA, the Dalai Lama fled to Dharamsala, India where he lives to the present. He continues to receive millions of dollars in backing today, not from the CIA but from a more innocuous-sounding CIA front organization, funded by the US Congress, the National Endowment for Democracy (NED).
azzip900 3 years ago
According to declassified US intelligence documents released in the late 1990s, "for much of the 1960s, the CIA provided the Tibetan exile movement with $1.7 million a year for operations against China, including an annual subsidy of $180,000 for the Dalai Lama."
azzip900 3 years ago
The Dalai Lama's second-eldest brother, Gyalo Thondup, established an intelligence operation with the CIA in 1951. It was later upgraded into a CIA-trained guerrilla unit whose recruits parachuted back into Tibet, according to Parenti.
azzip900 3 years ago
The NED at work again
As author Michael Parenti notes in his work, Friendly Feudalism: The Tibet Myth, "during the 1950s and 60s, the CIA actively backed the Tibetan cause with arms, military training, money, air support and all sorts of other help." The US-based American Society for a Free Asia, a CIA front, publicized the cause of Tibetan resistance, with the Dalai Lama's eldest brother, Thubtan Norbu, playing an active role in the group.
azzip900 3 years ago
Leaving aside at this point the claim of the Dalai Lama to divinity, what is indisputable is that he has been surrounded and financed in significant part, since his flight into Indian exile in 1959, by various US and Western intelligence services and their gaggle of NGOs. It is the agenda of the Washington friends of the Dalai Lama that is relevant here.
azzip900 3 years ago
The Dalai Lama urged that Pinochet not be forced to go to Spain where he was wanted to stand trial for crimes against humanity. The Dalai Lama had close ties to Miguel Serrano, head of Chile's National Socialist Party, a proponent of something called esoteric Hitlerism.
azzip900 3 years ago
That sole friendship, of course, does not define a person's character, but it is interesting in the context of later friends. In April 1999, along with Margaret Thatcher, and former Beijing Ambassador, CIA Director and President, George H.W. Bush, the Dalai Lama demanded the British government release Augusto Pinochet, the former fascist dictator of Chile and a longtime CIA client who was visiting England.
azzip900 3 years ago
When he was 11 and already designated Dalai Lama, he was befriended by Heinrich Harrer, a Nazi Party member and officer of Heinrich Himmler's feared SS. Far from the innocent image of him in the popular Hollywood film with Brad Pitt, Harrer was an elite SS member at the time he met the 11 year old Dalai Lama and became his tutor in "the world outside Tibet." While only the Dalai Lama knows the contents of Harrer's private lessons, the two remained friends until Harrer died a ripe 93 in 2006.
azzip900 3 years ago
The Dalai Lama travels in what can only be called rather conservative political circles. What is generally forgotten today is that during the 1930's the Nazis including Gestapo chief Heinrich Himmler and other top Nazi Party leaders regarded Tibet as the holy site of the survivors of the lost Atlantis, and the origin of the "Nordic pure race."
azzip900 3 years ago

Tibet: CIA-Sponsored "Uprising"

Freedom of expression, for one thing. Second: elections, which Taiwan already has because on a de-facto basis, it is not controlled by China.

FACTS:
1. No other country's government official recognises Tibet as an independant country. What makes you think you pitiful western student campaigners think it should be?
2. True, the ROC government had little control over Tibet due to warlordism, japanese invasion and civil war. But does that mean any part of the country can claim independance? No it doesn't.
3. Tibet has been part of China from the Yuan Dynasty through Ming, Qing, ROC and now PRC.

what is so important of Freedom of religion and speech? u look at india, the biggest democratic country in the world, but they are not united bcoz of different religion and ethnics! think abt it!
waynehyl 3 years ago
