This song and indeed the entire album Exile is based on the concept that God and the Devil are the same being and that Heaven and Hell are the same place. A kinda what if.. scenario that God,Jesus and other commenly praised deities etc are not really the kind, benevolent beings that man interpreted them to be.

this song is part of the concept found on the "Exile" album. It was used on the movie "Dark City". Its not about Satan per se, but there's a far more reaching idea that ALL religion is bad, which is basically the whole concept of Numans work since Exile was released. And NO, we wont be turning to you or god when all hell breaks loose, and we wont be turning to anyone else either, because while you are busy praying, we will be enjoying ourselves laughing at your stupidity!
