  • Laughed my ass off as soon as I saw the metal zone.

  • wanna know how I got metallica's sound ? easy, EMG 81/60, a slight chorus for the clean sound, and a good distortion, using a traditional V eq.

  • thumb up, if you click random everywhere in the time bar for some music. Man! Play, not talk!

  • 1 question kinda off topic, the roland daisy chains how do you actually use them ? 1 end is input and then the other is the output right?because im planning on buying one and i wasnt sure what the hell it is ; o

  • Haha!! This guy is obviously not into metal or Metallica at all. He should stick to what he knows. Good luck with that, mate...

  • failed!

  • MT2 NO

  • good, not the best, but good. ù.ù

need reverb, chorus on the overdriven sound. and you'll have it good.

  • needs chorus

  • who is a tall? Oo

  • metallica DOESN'T USE FUCKING PEDALS (except ride the lightning, but they used FUCKING TUBESCREAMERS.) and this is NOT EVEN CLOSE.... hey if you want metallica tone, get yourself 8 fucking mesa boogie mark II's and a marshall 1960 cabs and put them in a room in the shape of an arc. then place 8 mics to each cab carefully. then youll get that ''fantastic and gritty'' tone. metal zone is the most horrible pedal on the market...

  • @wewocewslaysemos it's called improvisation. it's like you need to be operated in the hospital but there are no tools needed to operate, what does the doctor do, complain while the person is dying?

  • @ayawlex its called an improvisation, a bad one...

  • @wewocewslaysemos u mad bro? lol

  • porn

  • want metallica sound ?

    Use any amp, use MT-2

Put the low - tone to full and the high tone to 3/4

    Distortion to 3/4

    Level to full

    And you'll get metallica sound

The sound in this tutorial is nothing sound like metallica

  • @Paunk8452 neither is the MT-2

  • @Paunk8452 want to sound like metallica? (Tip: you need a tube amp)

  • Im pretty sure you meant tutorial video not tuition video

  • just use a fullbore metal

  • Dude, stop making these videos, you're embarassing yourself. This sounds nothing like metallica, it's horribly fizzy and thin. This is the thrif video I've ssen from you, and you always miss the ball by a mile!

  • You are making Boss pedals look bad, when in fact they are awesome.

  • Not even close. Mesa Mark II, Mesa Rectifier & Diezel amps. If you can't afford those amps get a line 6, problem solved. With a line 6 u can get all those amp sounds plus classic marshall & fender amp sounds. But with the ability to record your guitar signal with NO noise, & a better all-around tone. Your setup is noisy. Does Marshall even have a quiet amp? I've owned a JCM-2000 DSL Super Lead & the last two MG series solid-state marshall amps. I ditched "old-gold" and a bought a Spider IV.

  • @bluboy21 You ditched a DSL for a Spider?

I guess that's you. I personally find the Spider series to be completely unable to get me what I want. It's too fizzy for me usually on higher gain settings, and I need fizziness to not exist.

  • why does everytime he turn on a pedal in his video he gets feedback? seriously I have a long pedal board and I dont get this much feedback unless I'm using my Boss Feedbacker.

  • You don't need an overdrive pedal with the Metal Zone. Get a grip on yourself bucket head.

  • doesnt the MT2 have the ability of what the od3 is doing if you turn up the level or distortion?????

  • @superdavey69 The MT2 kicks ass!

  • @c197373 it does but does anyone know the answer of my question? do i need to go and get a od3 to get the sound of metallica?

  • would a boss sd1 instead of an od1 make much difference?

  • Thanks.

  • btw... metallica doesnt like pedals, also for solo's its an overdrive with A LOT OF WAH!

  • would the boss super overdrive work with a danelectro FAB metal pedal?

  • you suck

  • Why the fuck were you using the neck pickup to play this riff? James uses the bridge for distortion and the neck for clean.

  • my acoustic has a better Metallica tone than this shit

  • YOU SUCK!!!!Buy Mesa boogie mark iic+ with triaxis preamp and then you can start to talk...

  • Marshall+tube screamer

  • @271189a They use Mesa Boogie

  • @TheHuMoCa James runs his diezel vh4 into a boogie cab, kirk runs his signature Randall into a boogie cab live, back in the 80's when they started out it was Marshall plexi>>>>>Tube screamer, does anyone else have questions?

  • @271189a diezel + tubescreamer

  • @doktorlindblood Whatchoo talkin bout willis?

  • Well the main thing i've learnt from this video is a lot of metilica fans are dicks...

  • you can do it with the MT2 by itself..

  • FAIL

  • my line six spider enter sandman tone sounds way closer than with all that expansive equipment

  • youre so fucking stupid

  • why does this guy only use boss pedals? I'm pretty sure Metallica doesn't even use them. why is he trying to copy artists tones anyway?

  • 0:57 nuff said

  • My Cube-15 XL sounds more metallica like than this....

Dude you need more gain *_*

  • lol the overdrive pedal OoO

  • NE SERI . . .

  • Fail o-o

  • bad:D

  • ...FAIL....

  • why do people care about the tone of an artist? the important fact is that you make your own tone

  • doesnt sound like it at all lol

  • no

  • buy a mesa dual rec or a mark 2c+ ,iv or v

    or a diezel vh4

never a boss metal zone they sound awefull

  • @munchy040 Really, Because no offence or anything but i can get a great metallica tone through my pedal.

  • @metalshredder14 yeah i used to think that aswell when i was 15 y,o

then i got a tube amp and seen the light :)

  • @munchy040 HaHa, :) i want a tube amp but as you said, im only fifteen and i cant afford it.

  • @metalshredder14 best advice i can give u is just save your money and dont waste it on pedals like the metalzone trying to emulate the sound of a tube amp !

i did this for years and ended up with a whole heap of shit pedals and guitars and amps !

than i sold it all and bought what i really wanted.

where as if i just saved in the first place i wouldnt of had to go through all that crap !

  • @munchy040 HaHa thanks for the advice :)

  • if yo want to sound like metallica just buy a mesa boogie dual rectifier

  • i will make a metallica tone video, i use the mt-2 metal zone too although i have a much more james hetfieldy tone

  • the mid is scooped all the way down, ever since master of puppets.

  • u dont need the over drive...u can get a better metallica tone only with the metalzone..

u were not even close to metallica's tone..

  • the easiest way to get their tone is get a line 6 spider 3 or spider 4 amp with at least 75 watts and use the master of puppets setting, or the for whom the bell tolls setting with a humbucker guitar. sounds way better than this lol

  • is this guy retarded

  • i can do better, way better with a peavey vypyr 15w

and y dont need pedals dude

  • BULL CRAP!

the secret to their sound is compressors

they use them to sound louder, turn the gain up and use and compressor

    but remember

    PLAY FUCKING LOUD!!

  • bitch sounds nutin like metallica, bgelais, way better and hes exact

  • are you deaf you whore? nothing like metallica

  • thanks, i finally had the metallica tone! i only have the mt-2 thou...but the sound is pretty much the same!

  • nice sound but not even close to metallica.

  • that tone sucks get a mesa boogie mark 5

  • not enough gain you could use 30 more metal zone pedals :P

  • wtf?! metallica tone?i dont think so!!!

  • Sounds like crap! You just can't get a metallica-tone with stompbox-distortion imo

  • @finsmi True. But they did use pedals for at least the first couple of albums. Unfortunately not everyone can afford a tube amp, or even a good solid state, so the pedals are the best they're gonna do in their room with their 15 watt practice amp

  • Here's some metallica tone search bgelais

  • MESA MARK 4 would make you happy, buddy, rather than that digital crap like metal zone unfortunately is..

the 4 gives you 75% of metallica distored tone

    ROCK ON!!!

  • *turns off at 0:10 upon seeing a Metal Zone*

  • big piece of shit

  • i think you just need a noise gate so you dont have to keep your dist level low... ^_^

  • They key to getting the metallica tone is NOT using a bunch of stomp boxes. They use Mesas with the EQ scooped on the early stuff. If you can't afford to buy a Mesa Head (or any large amps/good heads) Just get a 15 watt practice amp with a lot of gain (ie Peavey Vyper, Marshall MG) and scoop your mids. Although not perfect, you'll get a lot closer than using a bunch of stupid pedals.

  • shit

  • Why bother with two pedals? the metal zone and e.q. on you amp will do it!

  • this help to expand sound range! so thanx dude!

  • hahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha dont make me laugh men! you suck! you really suck!!

  • He's not even playing the main riff right LOL...learn it first bud

  • I dont get it whty some people say its not even close, maybe they did not finish watching the whole video. Very interesting video.. :-)

  • Fail!

  • not even close you freeking brit bastard. you could not be more wrong. please nobody take advice from this man.

  • this sucks, my valveking can do so much better than this without any effects

  • totally fail. i can do better on guitar rig 4.

  • this sounds much better than the nirvana one.

  • no, just no....i can get closer with my line 6 spider 3 15 watt amp and an ltd ec-1000....... not near enough gain and the guitar your using has pick ups that dont have enough output

  • dont understand why these homos are saying this doesnt sound like Metallica. First, Enter Sandman and pretty much the whole Black Album has lower gain than their other albums. Second, this is for poor people, these pedals and a decent clean tone amp would only cost around $250. Mesa Boogies and Marshalls cost people their buttholes. This is really close to Enter sandman tone.

But anyway Id go with a vypyr 30(I have it), I got a decent Enter Sandman tone out of it and its only $200.

  • what guitar are you using

  • 'Tallica doesn't use any pedal at all. They use a Mesa Boogie head and some Marshalls. They use the EQ on the Mesa. They only use footswitches

  • lame!!! if you want metallca tone you have to use a marshall halfstack or if you dont have money for a marshal of a mesa boogie or rack effects buy a line 6 pod x3 live(because metallica uses xt pro and the only difference is that the rack is mounted in a flor board) or a boss gt 10. or an easyer idea buy a digitech distorsion factory and a delay pedal, tweak them and plug them into a mixer and speakers.

  • Poor guy, give him a break, There'll be people who find this helpfull.

  • this guys retarded, shit sounds cheap. I got a boss gt-6 and i can kinda get close but thats closer to godsmack

  • Toss the pedals, and buy a Mesa Boogie. And you got Metallica tone. OH-EM-GEE!

  • this sounds nothing like metallica mate!! bit of advice stop doing these videos!!

  • @meah941 Yeah he should have used only the metal zone on max gain and not use Od

  • Sorry but get a Mesa/Boogie MKIIc+, Quad preamp, MKIII or Triaxis preamp.

Anything else is not going to cut it at all and BOSS is not going to give you any quality tones in the long run or sound like you!

  • aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa what is this shit

  • "There's a very simple technique for switching on a pedal....use your foot.."

    Why even made this video,moron.

  • @Pannemat fukin hell ur a snobby 1 lol

  • well for one thing he's playing the distorted part of the intro the same way as the clean part is played.......

    they're actually played 100% different...

  • this sounds nothing like metallica. not nearly enough gain there bud

  • @Metal4Life56 ex-fucking-actly...he doesn't even play the stuff right too

  • just use metal zone and u got a one like metallica dont need do all that shitt!

  • ummm.... The doesn't even remotely sound anywhere near metallica's tone. Wheres the distortion at? Wheres the heavy?

  • lol he said twang

  • omfg! he doesn't you a metal zone pedal retard!

  • I dont think this video is supposed to be giving a spot on metallica tone, just a basic idea...

  • It's for people who don't have the money to buy a Mesa Triple Rec or Dual Rec, sure with the metal zone you can get a bit closer than what he has on the video but it's never going to be exact unless you have a Mesa with an EXP with active EMG pickups

  • actually i know kirk hammet has used a boss metal zone in alot of his leads. i read it in a kirk interview in a guitar legends magazine

  • @meah941 they really dont, use much more gain than that, its more a matter of that tone, being layered across 5-6 tracks on protools. most classic metal songs, in recording, arent as gain saturated as they sound, you build that big sound up with with layers of multiple tracks.

  • to get the metallica tone you cant use pedals, its all amp distortion kirk only uses a tube screamer for his leads the rest is from the amp, a pedal can only go so far

  • turn all the mids down - there you go metallica tone

  • I have the best tone! whoever is interested, just ask me in my channel so I tell you step by step, really i swear it's the best tone ever, but you need a marshall mgdfx, that's the only problem.

  • NO ONE GIVES A FUCK

  • then why do you see these videos asshole!

Go with your friends to hear fuckingg, lady gaga or someshit of those.!

  • u mean lady gay guy!

  • jeez, even i have a better tone

  • not even close!

  • i know right

  • WOW - the metal zone 2 does a better job all on its own - no need for OD. You only boost tube amps, not distortion pedals. Good story though...

  • Pedals doesnt get you to metallica tone. Tone is about multiple amps..mesa boogie mostly, and multirecorded tracks and miking

  • Well, you're right, but I guess everyone (?) knows that : i may be completely wrong, but i think the video's purpose is to propose to try to achieve a decent and, non expensive way to approach metallica's tone . But i think that the most common mistake people do (mostly beginners) is to use way too much gain on their setting . I've always seen hetfield's tone as a "big crunch" , chuggy and with this typical "cut" you can't have with high gain , wich tends to "liquify" the sound .

  • very true

  • I HATE ENGLISH ACCENT

  • ammm jaja i have a metal zone and a digitech rp2000 soo the 2 ones! sound like metallica sound m ur sound sucks! really sorry ;D

  • interesting, do you have the amp settings?

  • I make these vids with a friend of mine - register on the website and you can contact him directly regarding amp settings, cheers.

  • @artofmixing You sound like a douchebag. No one wants the hassle of signing up to a new website just to find out your shitty settings. Give it up or don't make the stupid videos.
