  • playback

  • nice

  • There guitars are much less stuck in there armpits now..

  • Anyone know the reason why Mike pender left the group, was there a bust up or was it for musical reasons,I would be interested to know

  • I didnt knew this song until heard it at World Snooker Championship as John Higgins walk-on song. Damn this guy has some taste!!

  • you ARE, in fact, mistaken...written by Jack and Sonny, first released by Jackie

  • of course einstein alive see the drummer

  • where can i download this version of the song pls?

  • from eurotops check out charleene's version its not bad

  • Gimme Smokie any day.

  • Matt Lucas on lead vocal..Ha Ha Ha.

  • John Higgins :)

  • Iets cut the small talk, Nobody performs Needles And Pins as good as the Searchers......Tezza the Manch...........

  • Jack Nitzsche and Sonny Bono co-wrote the music and lyrics. Jackie sang it first in 1963 followed by the Searchers in 64, and any number of others afterward.

  • If I'm not mistaken- this was written and sung by Jackie DeShannon

  • MEGADETH

  • Same drummer Billy Adamson ,for all these years 1969-1998. I understand he has retired (as we all do) to France. Good Luck Billy...and thanks.

  • Very nice, but for me Smokie sing this song better than anybody else!

  • Albert Einstein on drums

  • @nunotraumas Naaaaaa, not Albert Einstein... looks more like Phil Spector.

  • Wow, the new sound. That killed the 60's version a tad though. Anyways, glad to see Franke still slapping that bass!

  • Don't like the sound at all

  • Wow, I am a big fan of the Ramones version, but this is good too.

  • Too bad they mixed it so as to remove almost all of the jingle-jangle 12-string sound that made the song.

  • John McNally & Mike Pender were the true originals of the Searchers. Sometimes when a band has all it's elements, luck, friction magic can happen. Then it's hard to maintain. When it was Pender, McNally, Curtis and Jackson that was it.. Period. I saw them Live on Ed

Some times when bands lose an ingredient they can't re-create that magic. The Stones lost their edge when Jones died, The Who with Moon, Izzy leaving GnR. Zeppelin was on the money when Bonham passed and retired the band..

  • great song!

only moan that they stand mime in this clip

  • Yeah, the drummer could have done more, but this tune doesn't call out for too much. It could be easy to over-play. Just a matter of opinion, like most tunes. I like to play this one. It's simple, but fun.

  • Frank and John = REAL Legends

  • i've seen both Mike Pender's Searchers, and these guys - and the latter are FAR SUPERIOR. Their live shows are epic. This is a backing track for some cheapo German show, so their efforts cannot be properly judged. They are proper rockers. PLUS, the guy on the left has been with them longer than Pender had.

  • The vocals are good, it's the drumming skills that are soooo lacking! Chris Curtis drumming style cannot be brought back, and this drummer makes no effort. Let's hope their new drummer puts forth more energy where it is required.

  • nice mullet

  • brilliant, brilliant song

  • I'll repeat, recorded version, lip sync, whatever, they didn't change the dynamics of the song as so many artist do, but enhanced and improved it way beyond the original.

  • I am blown away. Always liked this song but this live version may be the best live performance 30 years after original I have ever experienced for any artist ever

  • a recorded version of an old song but in no way a live preformance.

  • just brilliant

  • Who and how many of these guys can call themselves original Searchers.

  • Frank Alle (Bass) & John McNally (guitar) Smart arse.

  • And I suppose if Ringo and George were in a group they could call themselves the Beatles hey.

  • Actually Frank wasn't an original Searcher, he took over from Tony Jackson. Still, If the "Beach Boys" can tour with one original member, why not the Searchers?

  • Pedant.

Frank joined in 1964, from Cliff Bennets Rebel Rousers & his debut was the hit "When You Walk In The Room".

I think that classes him as being "Original".

  • Did he sing on Sweets for my sweet, Needles and Pins, Dont throw your love away, Love Potion no 9? No to all of those. Im happy to be a pedant if it means I know my facts. Why not visit wikipedia and get clued up?

  • I agree with MattyDoable, 46 years in a band makes you pretty authentic eh!

  • Mike Love made a mockery of the Beach Boys name after Carl Wilson passed away. There is nothing wrong with touring as the Searchers they have one original member and another member from the early/mid sixties.

  • From an emotional point of view I agree with you, but if what you say about the Searchers is true, it also, unfortunately, applies to the "Beach Boys," who have one original member-Love and another from the mid sixties- Bruce. it's curious that the current Searchers lineup is not offensive to original fans, while Love's money-grubbing machine certainly is.

  • I wonder what happened to Bamber Gascoin' he's a drummer for the Searchers lol..

  • Pins and needles, needles and pins. When a man marries, his troubles begin.

  • Wow. They sound great still and have all aged pretty well.

  • 130552261254

doch, gibt es noch. z.B. Fool's Garden

  • schade, daß es heute solche musik nicht mehr gibt!!

  • Billy Adamson didn't sing but the latest drummer of 10 years Eddie Rothe does.

  • awe the drummer doesnt sing anymore

  • i want that drummer in my band!!!!

  • envejecer para esto, me cago en mi puta vida

  • great song, but im sorry, tht drummer, bless him, makes me feel like sayin quite loudly GREAT SCOTT! lol

  • What's up with the disco/yuppie/hollywood version? Sounds like it should be in an 80's Molly Ringwald/Jud Nelson teen movie.

  • fab song! it's awsome to see the searchers are still going! well i think they are!

  • What's up with the mullet?

  • Go see The Rockinghams version!
