  • Ive kept listening this for oh how many months, years?

    this is the best ever.

  • I love this piece from the first time I ran into it on an episode from "The Addams Family", when Lurch was playing it.

  • me quedo impactada. solo dire hermosa, hermosa. una obra maestra

  • @chutdigadut This piece has to be proud. Should it not, the word heroic should be taken out of it, and Horowitz never would have performed it. Horowitz playing a piece more than once is any time span is a rarity. Horowitz playing it at least three times recorded, one in Moscow and one at the White House, it must be observed with an attentive mind. Beautiful, except for his banged out chords at 3:16

  • @miliona1re amazing isn;t it

  • @MrNoookie que?? esto si que es impresionante!!!

  • note" Chopin composed this piece when he was 12 years old.

  • @MrNoookie I think you mean Chopin was 32. He was born in 1810, piece was written in 1842. Simple math there.

  • @MrNoookie No, he composed it in 1842, when he was 32.

  • @Boesendorfer290 yeah he was 32, but just close your eyes and try to add specific images or scenarios you experienced as a child...idk about you, but this piece sounds childish. It's an anthem for racing your bike around the neighborhood, lighting fire crackers and building a fort in the woods or chasing girls around your yard with mud on your fingers. Perhaps he wrote this FOR when he was 12. Keep your inner child... tag your it. :P

  • @Williama15k What kind of smoke do you use man?

  • @MrNoookie You're thinking of a different Polonaise, not the opus 53. ;-)

  • ESPECTACULAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • i think i heard that music first on an old Tom and Jerry cartoon. great music!

  • Beautiful! And thank you for the video. So this is what the homeland of my ancestors looks like.

  • @reganBuffalo It is a beautiful land.I went to Poland 5 times in the last 3 years.I'd like to go to Zelazowa Wola one day.

  • @miliona1re Zelazowa Wola is amazing! I got there every year when i visit my grandmother in Poland. Its so lovely to sit outside of the house and listen to a Chopin concert.

  • @miliona1re im sure miliona1res poo quite a lot too. it rhymes.....

  • @reganBuffalo and sounds like.

  • this is one of the best pieces by Chopin for me, so very Polish love it !

  • Reminds me of Oliver Cromwell....

  • I like Argerich's version too...

    __`•.¸.•´_*●♥ Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒჱ◕‿◕ BELLISIMA GRACIAS

  • I love Poland and Chopin :)

  • Great performance... But I prefer by far Horowitz: his interpretation isn't so perfect like this, but the feelings he transmits are unequaled

  • My husband, who is a classically trained pianist, plays this piece frequently and well. When he heard this he said Pollini "nailed it". Fantastic.

  • Pollini is Genius

  • Oj jak tesknie za Polska :(

  • Io amo questa sonata...che meraviglia!!

  • @miliona1re yepp but adding that im not a very big fan of classic piano.

maybe its just THAT good :D

  • there is no doubt about it...

    pollini=perfect chopin!!!

    great.

  • I think Maurizio Pollini is probably the greatest living pianist.

  • Poland is one of my favorite countries in the world. A man named Arthur Blessit dragged a 12-foot cross around the world for 30 years. He said the friendliest countries in the world to the cross of Jesus Christ were Poland and Papua New Guinea. When he walked through Poland, thousands of people walked off their jobs and followed him for days. The countries most hostile to the cross were the USA, Canada, Spain, and Morocco.

  • @watutman interesting. However he seems to say that Spain is also friendly to the cross :O

  • @cappko

If you need to enhance Chopin, because you find it "boring", and call the people who doesn't feel it the way as you do "idiots", then JUST STOP LISTENING CHOPIN.

  • this is called the only art ever existing

  • This is pure Chopin with no distortions. Thanks for posting. Horowitz destroys this piece, as he does so many pieces.

  • @goodguysdoll idiot... horowitz had so beautiful accent in his performances, that I doubt that there will be any other pianist like him.. LISTEN! This is beautiful performance, but the one played by Horowitz is a less boring one :P :O

  • @goodguysdoll i agree; horowitz makes loads of mistakes all the time.

  • The best version out there!

  • Che meraviglia...

  • This is great!! Thanks for posting this!

  • Wonderful piece of art...

  • My favorite performance of this work.

  • @watutman : mine too...
