You should always put off "AGC", this should be used in only low light situation. If you shoot in this kind of good light and if AGC is on then images would be over expose. Just try to shoot in AGC off and use all manual controls and see the result, I am sure stunning images you will be able to produce.
@global38th It was always on AGC, but some shots where made with "Backlight Comp." = on and some other shots were made with several different A, S, and M settings...
