Well here's the deal: a plane needs thrust to gain speed.. And that's why they clear the path behind the plane because if a car gets too near while the plane is gaining speed, it would be blasted out of the way by those big huge engines! That driver was lucky the pilot stopped the plane otherwise that car would end up on its side a few meters away xD
