When I was a kid I flew on Transair YS-11s out of Churchill, Mb. They also had a few F28s as well..

When i was really really really young I used to love watching Piedmont's YS11s @ SDF, loading up for the 11 stop service to DCA.

Sounds exactly like the HS.748, which is also Dart engined. It's a truly magnificent noise!

The screeching whine must be deafening!, you don't need earplugs standing 40-50m away from a Saab 340, but for a Jetstream 31 or one of these you do.
