  • Thats a load of horse shit, you have got to be Irish to be Irish. Sayin it otherwise dont make no damn sense. Just because you can make some mountain dew or ya wear green britches dont make you a Mic.

  • YOU DON'T HAVE TO BE IRISH TO BE IRISH

  • @wuschel28021991 Do you just need to be drunk?

  • @arizonaafield No, you need, first, good sir, to know how to make the stuff that gets you drunk yourself in an old metal trash can using only rain water, (irish) potatoes, sugar, and yeast. And some good long legs from running from those bedamnded taxmen.

  • @Thrawn6211 And don't forget the tears of the Black and Tans :-)

  • Comment removed

  • I rather get the people at my wake to drink their brains out, sounds better then mourning...

  • @Skullhunter1180 I've just recently understood that we all should be happy all time and never mourning. Life's too short to be sad! So get the people, get the pipe, get your hobbies and get the drink and... be happy!

  • @rosocole Good point rosco, and you don't need to be Irish to live that .....but it helps..lol

  • @LakittyCatRules Good luck with that one PAL!!! lol BTW Sleep wit yer azz against da wall ...ok......

  • I can never pronounce that last Gaelic phrase properly. 2:40

  • @Terrakinetic I'm a Kennedy but cannot understand some of the dialect....sigh.........

  • @Terrakinetic The phrase at the time you indicated isn't Gaelic at all, it's merely accented English; helpfully, the poster spelled the words somewhat phonetically (ex: Thunderin' Jaysus' instead of 'Thundering Jesus'). The words are sung pretty quickly however, which could account for your confusion. ;-)

The only two words in this song that aren't English are 'avourneen' (darling/sweetheart) and 'shillelagh' (a cudgel-like walking stick). Hope this is of some help!

  • @PeculiarReader It's Thanam 'on dhoul (your soul to the devil). I can pronounce the versions that replace it with English.

  • @Terrakinetic OK, that makes sense. Sorry about the misunderstanding!

  • voll porno;)

Cray chur is actually supposed to be "the creature". It's slang for whisky, and sounds that way since it's pronounced with such a thick accent. :)

    LONG LIVE IRELAND!

  • In certain parts of the south, the tradition of the Irish wake is still used as an excuse to tell tall tales and drink until you don't know where you are. I know this because I've attended a few. The only piece of advice I've got is that you never try to drink the small Irish grandmother under the table...never works.

  • I have been to many wakes they are great celebrating the persons life instead of mourning the death.

  • Ireland heyho!! Ireland Heyho! Ireland Heyho! Let's raise up our jar's!

  • Irish I was drunk

  • Hello to Irish from Pays Basque

  • 13 people are from northern ireland

  • @venom258

    Try Great Britain.

  • @venom258 You're an idiot. Ever been to Derry?

  • @venom258 not all north irish m8 .. ;) only the secterian prods ;( ....they are the 1s who hate what they reallyare ... irish ;) they only cling on 2 the british thing .. cause they got no real identity ... ;)

  • @venom258

So are the Irish Rovers. And 15 people are just fools..

  • @venom258 Yo I'm from Northern Ireland and I fucking love this song, They're probably from Britian

  • @dantepheonix13 No, I have certain ties to Britain (not blood-ties, but Britain played a major role in my child years), and I can tell you, I know no one from there who wouldn't like an Irish song. Question is, who doesn't feel the need to sing along?

  • @wimopy Yes, you don't necessarily have to be Irish to enjoy this, and have a larf at DEATH..just human?!? lol

  • @venom258 I'm from northern ireland ye cunt and I love this tune

  • @venom258 why do you have to spoil the beauty of this song by digging up old wounds?

  • im american and ive never heard of irish music..... When i did I was like WTF THIS IS AWESOME!!!!

  • real irish folk dont go around saying they how irish they are, or celebrate st patricks the way americans do.

  • @mikeymac77 That would be pretty pointless now wouldnt it. To go around telling all the other Irish, that you are Irish, seeing as though they already know. It's about pride in your Ancestry for Americans... Bugger OFF

  • @mikeymac77 Nah, the Irish just celebrate St. Patricks Day the other 364 days a year. Happy St. Paddy's Day to you just the same.

  • Happy St Paddys Day -- Quebec, Canada !

  • HAPPY ST. PATRICK'S DAY from the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA =)
