  • loved this beat since the first time I heard it - FINALLY, nearly a decade later, I can put 16's on it. Much respect to Comm, Dilla, and especially Tony Allen

  • I flipped some ish on this beat......track is crazy

  • The origianl is better. ASIKO by Tony Allen

  • Damn my brothas...now growing up in a Nigerian household, I would listen to Fela all the time. I used to be amazed at how funky those beats were. And to have a master of the Beats J.Dilla flip it...show judt how ahead of his time he was. We still haven't caught up to his mastery yet!!!

  • you say you got ones then bring that shit!

you say you got guns then bring that shit!

    R.I.P. DILLA!

  • this is my favourite beat !!! jay dee you're a master

  • Yo, this beat reminds me of Welcome 2 Detroit AAlbum

  • CALL THE FIRE DEPARTMENT...THIS IS A FOUR ALARM BLAZE!!!

  • there aren't TOO many samples that are just outrageously crafty. This is easily one of the top five...especially when you throw in the line "In the habitat of cadillacs and battle raps and niggas that travel at the speed of need" - it's the perfect translation from the origin of beats with "Asiko" to the breakbeat loop generation of hip hop

  • THE BEATS THAT DILLA BLESSED COMMON WITH! WOW THE VERSES COMMON GRACED THEM WITH.. ITS KIND OF SAD TO SEE HIM TRY TO STAY RELEVANT NOWADAYS, THIS IS ONE OF MY FAVORITE ALBUMS OF ALL TIME... SO PURE.

  • @OTOWNNMAXER I mean Common is still ill tell this day though..

  • DJ Premier

  • @seboufdu59 How the fuck do you leave out SHOWBIZ?!! Or for that matter, KANYE and BUCKWILD??! Slap urself!

  • @LAGTONE - Kanye ? For lil' wayne, jay-z, T.I or brandy's albums ? We talk about hip hop mate, so let kuntye work in the mainstream.

  • @seboufdu59 I c kanye got ur attention. Just admit it, he's top ten material. FACE IT.

  • @ MannyManolo718...No diss to Premo cuz he's still 1 of my fave producers ever. You got it twisted though about Dilla. You say he's too monotonous. When Premo is the 1 who tends to be very monotonous. That's actually my only criticism of Premo.Dilla takes the sampling skills of cats like Pete Rock and Premo but the musical perfectionism of Dre and combines it.Yet he always managed to be original with his music. That's why Dilla is the best hip hop producer ever in my opinion !!!

  • Yeah Preemo is one of my favs but most of his beats are just loops and some aren't that dense.

  • This album deserves to be called a classic...

    R.I.P. Dilla

  • 9th wonders soul samples are ill dont even hate Sean Price bitches Com sense = one of de best

  • r.i.p dilladog

  • Yo why you faultilly rhymin bout anally assaulting females

Like half retarded to be rappin about sodomy - Pardon me? Respond if you gotta - ignorance it only hardens me

It's God damned disheartening the nonsense your barking Me? I'll stick to spittin rhymes - Maybe you should take up gardening

or take a leave of absence since yer style is less than startling

  • dont stick to spittin rhymes....stick to that mcdonalds asst manager position!

  • can preemo take a 60's sample and take letters to MAKE the vocals say spliff's ?

  • started at :45

ain't nobody going rhyme over this?

i know its Com Sense, but damn this the shit

off the dome, but it still make sense

tho it ain't making cents, wasn't why i commit

hit you with this like a wild pitch

that's coming from the heart, like when a chicks bent

talking like, boy you know you can hit

turned and showed, both places i could hit

  • obviously this guy under me is just trying to get a negative reaction out of someone, hahaha to say that people are DUMB for thinking hes the GPOAT is DUMB within itself. HANDS DOWN EVEN IF HES NOT UR FAVORITE, U STILL HAVE TO RESPECT HIS SH*T,! HE HAS ENUFF UNDER HIS TITLE TO COMPETE WITH ANYONE< and people who say sh*t like that probably havent heard alot of his sh*T.

  • ya moms ass b!

  • Asiko! Asiko! Askio!

  • Dilla... illa J... Jay yancey... the best .... and some say his beats are alright. please pull your head out. compare this beat to the original sample and youll see how nasty and smooth this man was. pay homage and respect. RIP J DILLA and thank you for your tracks.

  • i agree, jd was the best!

wat was the orig sample 4 this track?

i wanna hear how he flippd it!

  • ......Dilla IS iite.

    He's no Preemo.

....or Hi-Tek.....he was like an iller 9th Wonder. IDK why so many people sweat him.

  • Hi-Tek ... are you serious, Hi-Tek was good when he was with Rawkus records since he signed with sorry ass aftermath he became sorry himself.

compare hits and albums dilla has done compared to Hi-Tek then speak.

as for preemo yeah hes hot but preemo can cant chop and flawlessly layout a track like dilla can.

  • WHAT???? PrEEMO Cant chop like DILLA? ahahahahahaHAAHAHAHA

    AHAHAHAH. you dont know shyt.

NO1 can chop like DJ Premier......Nobody.

  • ya your right i give you that about preemo but he has to scratch in his choped segments, he is good hes damn good. but dilla still the shit!

  • preem said it himself that dillas production was just on a level above his

  • Preemo is in my top 3 producers but most of his beats are just 5-10 second loops, a lot of dillas beats change up somewhat. Top 5 (In No Order)

    1.Dilla

    2.Madlib

    3.Preemo

    4.Just Blaze

    5.Dr. Dre

  • @Womb2daTomb1 lol u clearly prefer sampled beats over compositions because theres no way those produces are better than Dre

  • @Womb2daTomb1 so true about preemo

not knockin him as a producer he's one of the greatest

but you just cant beat dilla pete rock or madlibs sound.

  • @esthebeatprovider . nah! dilla is nice but premo kills all!

  • @sfknns lol, nope.

  • @seboufdu59 , LoL yep!

  • who is "Dilla"

  • Pretty much the beat maker.

  • whoaaaa

  • You say you got guns, then bring that shit. You say you got ones, then bring that shit

  • wow i fuckin hate you

  • Not me.

  • this beat alrite

  • understatement

  • justice for all minorities/ my family is my priority/ show no inferiority/ destined for glory/ the stars shining before my very eyes/ bury the lines deep within to keep these precious jewels/ for you may deepend on em later/ the world is full of haters/ and fakers and naysayers/ traitors and false saviors/ halt the devilish behavior/

  • i love the snare. i sometimes wonder why dilla when he started making the beat, why he would keep the double snare?

makes the song so orignial and memorable

  • its actually sampled from an Afro-beat Musican, Tony Allen: an Nigerian Artist

  • yeah Asiko, i just wonder why he kept the double snare, you know what i mean.

  • I remember when I first heard this track when the album came out. I literally thought it was physically impossible to make a beat funkier than this. i was like "That's it. This is the height of funk. Can't get no further."

    RIP Dilla.

  • J DILLA!!!

  • oh intelegent, who the hell is this

Can conform ta any containment an tha element still be strongest/

Check Naziz and GDz an see where rebel flagz low fa tha departedhickz

  • this is a top 5 track for me. The whole album was ridiculous.

  • Only jaydee could come out with this hot shit

  • this beat was probably such a pain in the ass to do...alot of precision cutting with this...but if anyone could do it it was definitetly Jay Dee.

  • This beat is sooo tight...dilla was a genius.

    Rest in peace brother

    big up for the post!

  • It's Fela Kuti, isn't it?

  • Ah found it elsewhere on Youtube, it's Tony Allen, Fela Kuti's drummer. So basically Fela's band without him.

    It's gold.

  • yes it is. Asiko.

  • wierd beat,but dope

  • common & dilla are a dreamteam

    this beat is sick

  • guh this beat is too fuckin addictive
