Kobe isn't just a phenomenal player, he's a phenomenal interviewee. All of his answers are either witty or very intelligent and thought out. It's not just "oh we gotta play better defense" or "oh i believe in my team we can do anything" and whatnot. He's actually quite thoughtful.

I still hate him, though. I'm glad that of all two of the teams that beat him in the Finals, my Pistons were one of them.

Just yesterday I was doing shooting drills with some excellent shooters. All of them were talking trash ALL the time. And I gotta say, I LOVE it. Why? Not because I'm an asshole, but because the trashtalk is a challenging thing to the opponent. It brings confidence to both parties. As a person you shouldn't be arrogant or selfish, but it should be A OKAY to have a little bit of that on the court, because it always raises your game. You always want to back up your words or prove others wrong.

I agree with what he said. Sometimes you need to make selfish decisions when your goals are high or you won't reach them. Arrogance is a nasty thing to see in a person, but it can be a useful trait in basketball. You aren't as likely to make big shots if you have any doubts. I think arrogance and selfishness are two ingredients required to make a basketball player like Kobe Bryant. They won't get anyone anywhere by themselves, but its a different story when mixed with determination and talent.
