Freakin' Gruene Hall...Hell ya...seen some of the greats play there up close and personal over the years. Awesome memories. A true musician's place ta gig without worrying about playin "popular radio music".
Yea , Who were you thinking of last night ? I remember listening to Freddy on the radio when I was young . Man does he have a missed voice . love you Freddy
a great man that never sold out...he kept his own style..not sure about other places but he could sell out every place he played in texas...thank you Mr.Fender for all the great music you put out...god bless
reminds me of the old cholos(my uncles) haha blasting this music at like 2 in the morning talking about there younger days haha and past gf's haha good times
So glad to find this vid hadn't heard this forever! Most ppl you ask about this song have never heard of it...boy are they missing out!! "Who were thinkin of when I was making love to you?" LOVE IT!
Awesome song!!!!! Yeah!!!! Viva Texas and the mexican and white people that made up this band!! God bless them forever!!! Indeed, it's German based music through the loyal mexican country known as Mexico!!
The SDQ, Freddy Fender, Falco. O and on. and on. Music is music. Greatness is greatness. Search out each of theses people. Then come back to the Tornado's
fantastic. These performers were and all great on their own. Sometimes it is about the music. These guys proved that it is always about the music. Miss ya Freddy.
there own mix of country with conjunto with tejano. such talent.. man i wish they bring this music back to the founders of this great music the TEXAS TORNADO'S brought to the great state of TEXAS
These were artist of great talent and stage presence. Loved Freddy Fender as a solo artist. But you see he was bigger and better than being a solo act. With his as well as the others, it was more about the music than a fat paycheck, If I were a producer, I would make new young artist watch and learn from these older acts. They really never go out of style.
I hear that they are playing in San Diego, on October 17th, 2009. Flaco and Augie played here a few years ago, at the 4th & B. Freddy was sick that night.
My wife, Letty, and I were at Freddy's last concert, at Steven's Steakhouse, in the City of Commerce. Augie was there, as was Allen Rich, Charlie Rich's son.
Thanks, I really do feel blessed and honored to have known Freddie and Doug personally and both Augie and Flaco are still great Friends and we all live in San Antonio. They are super great! And still performing, they performed in New York this last weekend and will perform here in San Antonio, Next week.
Thanks for your great Comment and God bless you as well.
This brings tears to my eyes, since I knew all of them and got to work with them in the last years as a group...Miss them as a group tremendously!! Glad we still have Augie and Flaco. May God give both of them a long life and great health.
Willie Nelson has played with the Texas Tornados, but he has never been a member of the band. Search "Freddy Fender Flaco Jimenez Volver Volver" here at Youtube, to see Willie play with the Texas Tornados.
