Okay I am a bit of a music snob, I look down upon shyte bands of taoday. However, The Kooks have made a GREAT, pop-rock single here. Finely crafted and sung. I do not see how anyone cannot like this song. 5/5 as a pop recording. Now not all their CD is to the level, and perhaps a few corny lines "...life is like a papercup..."but wow, this song really creates and emotive response with a melody and chorus that are simple and smashing. The guitarist is GREAT, tasty licks.

@ikilledgsus lol. im not american im actually from the caribbean. but u'd have to be ignorant to not know how much british rock was influenced by american music. your heroes the Yardbirds for example were trying unsuccesfully to imitate music from the mississipi delta when they developed their sound. Mick Taylor from the Rolling Stones uses Nashville tuning on Wild Horses, just to provide one example. This American influence has been passed down the generations, and exists slightly in the kooks.
