Shambler's Castle - a Quake mod for Doom3

I would be quite keen on being part of the team that takes this project further. I have quite a lot of Quake1/QW mod experience.

My idea of what to do in the first place:

- implement original maps

- original hd sounds

- get more monsters from Q1 in

What ever happened to this project? He was making a perfect Quake! It's updated, it has ALOT sharper sound and ALOT better AI and graphics. A true tribute. If it's dead get that birch to keep working on it!

I'm not sure I like it, some parts look right, but others look far too excessive for a 'Quake' styled map, which is supposed to be dismal, silent and ambiguous.

WOW! This is amazing. PEople do amazing stuff with mods.

This should have been quake 4, back to its dreary medievel roots, that was coolest. Even Quake 2 had a little bit of that feel to it. Dunno what quake 4 was inspired from, far too much like a poor mans doom. Just my opinion!

Unfortunately morph611, that's what happens to most mods. It's a miracle Classic Doom 3 was finished and released. I'm not kidding, it was nothing short of a miracle. A group of around 10 guys working from every corner of the globe. We never met in person. It's extremely tough to keep teams together, keep everyone working on their stuff, and to stay motivated.

I love scrags! They're so much fun to fight, especially over high ledges so when you kill them to death, they fall all the way down. Even funnerer if they fall into liquid hot magma. XD

Wow, that is an amazing job on recreating the Quake 1 enemies! Even though it is just insanely stylish it still retains the Quake dimension's feel. I think I might go out and get Doom 3 just for this. XD Quake 1 forever!
