They were each given 10 to 20 years and the U.S. military, having too much admiration for the platoon leader played by Sean Penn, let them all out with 2 years good behavior. I find it, frankly, diabolic that you're lying about this on purpose.

But even if the film is just REMOTELY accurate, it absolutely breaks my heart to think of what that poor girl must have gone through. Not really. He is being directly confrontational in this scene and is for most of the film, The only thing he really dosen't do himself is kill her. I think the reason is he was not pure evil, Clark was. Penn's character was a man who lost some of his humanity in war, and thats why he did the horrible things he did, but he still could not commit cold blooded murder.
