From someone who has been a life long Queen fan.I am so happy I saw them in concert I hope Freddie knew how much people loved him.he was a beautiful, brave amazing.talented man.with the most purely perfect voice I have ever heard..did what he loved until the end..Queen a brilliant group of 4 perfectly matched men...their voices..were made for each other! Have never heard anyone else who comes close.to their musical genius this bands music will live on.Farrokh Bulsara sweet..lovely man RIP
I have always liked Queen since I first heard them on 8-track, Sheer Heart Attack. The Night before I saw them in concert. The Morris Civic Auditorium, South Bend Indiana. 1974 I Think. They have not ceased to Amuse me so far, nor do I expect them to in t5he future.I love their music.
Anyone who is a REAL Queen afficionado, fan, nerd, or whatever I am....realizes that this song is just brilliance....it has everything you would ever want in a cool song....even the singalong at the end....
95% of teens these days listen to the same crappy pop over and over again. If you're one of the 5% who still listens to real music, thumb this up, then copy and paste it to all POP Musics you KNOW!. Don't let the spirit of rock and roll die
Rainbow 1974 is one of my favorite Queen concerts - I'm completely entranced by their delivery. Every word and note of each song so carefully conceived and delivered. Amazing! Queen!

An Evening With Queen 1974 - 1976 2DVD set featuring Live at the Rainbow 1974, Live at Hammersmith Odeon 1975, & LIve at Hyde Park 1976 available at Tommygunvideo website
Check out Dream Theatre's cover of this song: Tenement Funkster, Flick and Lily of the Valley. Brilliant cover, even Brian May likes it, and its my Alarm Clock setting on my mobile phone!
first song Queen sang when I saw warming up for Mott...they blew Mott off the stage (and I love Mott the Hoople)...just knew they were going to be great...when Freddy came out and sang "a word in your ear"...god...."from father to son"....
Yeah totally Queen had a metal side. They were pioneers in the heavy metal genre; didju know that their song ogre battle is considered to be the first thrash metal song written? i mean listen to this song heavy distorted guitar and intense shredding if that's not metal then i don't know what is
queen obviously had a metal edge in 70's.May clearly influenced tony iommi from black sabbath.also the melodies with 2 or 3 guitars written by may influenced riffs from iron maiden
Oh yeah it is a great song and stone cold crazy is another good example it influenced metallica they did a good cover of it on their Garage Inc. Album
@SomRandomLoiterer189 for sure, well Queen is not only metal and rock either, they're sort of a mix of everything. But yeah, the heavy riff in this song was definitely used by Judas Priest, and the soloing that Brian May does here, K.K. Downing from Judas Priest used quite a bit I think. There's something about Brian May's style that's more metal than all those bands that base everything on image.
The black/white was my first. I was having serious difficulties with my old man when I was trippin in my room across the hall from my folks. ha ha Oh yeah I was jammin on Father to Son big time. This is so cool. Queen shook the fucking house!!!!
They opened with this when I saw them at Kings College gym in Wilkes-Barre PA opening for Mott the Hoople...from the opening line ("A word in your ear")...I was blown away by the POWER of Freddie's voice...to this day the greatest male voice I have ever heard at a R&R concert...Paul Rogers second...lots of others follow...
sometimes I cry when i hear this song... it reminds me how important it is for fathers to take care of their children and assure that they know that he will be there for them always... i guess i never got that.. well, i did from close friends whom r like father figures... but not from my real father ..
That's an epic track from Queen II. What a pleasant surprise to watch such a good video recording and super-tight performance. Gotta love the take-no-prisioners middle-break: royal metal! Brian is on Sabbath mode on this one ;-)
This cd (Queen 2) is so underrated. This song if freakin killer. I got a chance to see them with Billy Squire in the early 80's in Detroit. Still one of my top 5 concerts of all time. Brian May is a MASTER!!!
my dad has only been to a few of queens tours and he has collected many audios of his own with songs on it that were only played scarcely like Jailhouse Rock
THIS IS THE SONG I USED IN MY M.A. THESIS ABOUT STAR WARS TO EXPLAIN DARTH VADER/ LUKE SKYWALKER Jor El/ Kal El film relationships. True classic indeed. Brian harold at his philosophical bloody best bar white queen - about Robert Graves White Goddes of course:-)
But you don't have this quality of The Rainbow. That is for sure because i obtained mine personally and did not download it. Go to learn more about Queen songs.
Listen the fist albums and many live shows between 73 - 77.
If this is not metal, you dont know what s it.
Note; I dont wrote that Queen is a metal band, but they have heavies songs
Eduranzoni 2 years ago
I think Queen was in the 1970´s an art rock- band and semi- heavy influenced.
And they had their melodic side too.
After all, they were Queen, no further comments about that.

i agree.
