  • The "dub" in dubplate is an allusion to the plate's use in "dubbing" or "doubling" the original version of a track. The name dubplate also refers to an exclusive, 'one-off' acetate disc recording pioneered by reggae sound systems but also used by drum and bass and other dance music artists, DJs and sound systems.

  • there were several great songs on this LP; Ready or not; Johnny Quest; Superman; got 5 on it. Yea i still got this "CD"

With over 1.6 million total views on YouTube, my channel is widely accepted as having THE BEST mixes on the Internet! DnB/Dubstep/Drumstep/Glitch - I make the nastiest and best blended BASS MIXES you will hear.

  • why do you have 2004 I knew some one who had this in like 1997 no later than 1998

  • @moejuggs I have strangely enough never heard this particular version before and I am an aphrodite fan. It might be that recent. There is def a version from around 97,98. I have the white label version on vinyl that i believe is mixed by D.J.Zinc. that i have had since way back then.It is a little more minimalistic and quite different and it does with out the killing me softly samples. it is really nice for mixing!

  • DJ hype can jog on.

  • @mettlepuck yeah.. so i agree tupac should rest in peace.. i just don't see how you think of that listening to this song...

  • @goldenj27

He played this at a party I went to in 2001 so it's definitely from before 2004, might be a late 90's remix indeed. I'm not shure though. I don't think he ever released it.

  • Dub step version is bad ass too. Just reminds me of Noisia.

  • this song always dissapoints me because THIS one is a *real* banger, not this garbage like "ukfdnb" or shat

  • this is aphrodite's remix, hype and zinc have also remixed it ,i know coz i have all 3 of them on vinyl.

and yes dubstep came from bassline/garage its the same tempo between 135 and 140 bpm the only difference is the drum pattern ,the snare is on the 3rd beat hope this clears up a few things.

click on my channel ive done my own dnb remix of ready or not 2011 stylee want a free copy leave a comment and subscribe ill inbox u a link peace dj riski

  • Aphrodite?? Err,Dj Hype kids...learn your shit people;]

  • @timmihendrix1 Yo Dj Zinc, Dj Hype, Aphrodite all did this in their own way and there is a Dub Step version too that i dunno who did it. but everybody is entitled to like their own version of preference.

  • Tune<3

  • I've always been a little embarrassed to admit that I'm not really sure what really *defines* and *separates* dubstep, DnB, garage, ...so on and so forth. It's comforting to know that y'all don't really have a clue either. Perhaps someone has a clue, though, of what actually separates Country from Western? I'm a little confused on that one also.

  • @cwellerding western referred to "western swing", a dancable style with more electric and horn elements than the standard blues-influenced country song. DnB is, to me, breakbeats around the neighborhood of 170-180 bpm...anything is just a sub-genre.

  • breathtaking.... wonderful....

  • haha u didint even spell roni size right

  • I first saw Aphrodite in 96 or 97 at a club in Kings Cross Sydney, it was my real first experience seeing a DJ playing jump up tracks live, the club was small but had a great sound system, Aphrodite was playing in the center of the clubs back wall. As we walked into the club, he dropped Bad Ass, my E kicked in hard causing me dry reach, it was the best!

  • epic stuff

  • @CJAF420 50 pple now g

  • Comment removed

  • @CJAF420 make that 55 and counting

  • Here's my two pence on the topic, Jungle came first thats a fact! When the music industry got interested they didnt want jungle it was too raw, Ronnie Size and others with a mellow jungle style became known and marketable as D'n'B they could sell that in shops as thats what it is drums and bass, but die hard junglists wont have it so jungle still made it into shops and this is defo jungle! Whatever you want to define it as its a heavyweight tune!

  • @speedyp99 Hmm, I dunno, tbh. there is the mainstream d'n'd and the "other stuff." I've been to many a warehouse where the dj was playing hard as fuck d'n'b, real dirty and deep shit. I never considered Ronnie and that other lot true, they just sounded way too produced. Grooverider's "Jack the Ripper" is another heavyweight tune. i still think Jungle is a very different and distinct genre to true d'n'b, both great sounds, but both different.

  • @StuartRobertM Agree with you Jungle and D'n'B are different styles but like with Garage being an offshoot of house, D'n'B is an offshoot of Jungle. Without going into political mode the point I was making is that sometimes music appeals to those who were not the intended market, (public school kids going to Fabric etc) the uppers of society cant have an underground style of music being listened to by their children so they rebrand it water it down (like you said with Ronnie Size) then its ok.

  • @speedyp99 Word ! knowledge for the unwise.

  • @speedyp99 this is DnB, original remix (by DJ Hype) was also DnB, the original, Ready or Not by The Fugees, was also a cover. Also, technically, stating that jungle and dnb are diferent genres of music is bullsh*t. Also, describing dnb as being "mellow" and commercialy friendly is like stating a shot in the left temple is preferable to a shot in the right..

  • @pah967 So is Ska the same as Reggae? Is Funky House the same as House? No they originated from the later and deserve to be judged as a single genre. I going to pretend that you didnt just try to say Jungle and D'n'B are the same thing, if I dont pretend you didnt just say that then I can take you seriously otherwise I'd have to take it that you talk from the crack, straight from the crack so help you god! As for shots in the left temple and right... what you on about son? Dont do drugs!

  • @speedyp99 tl;dr

  • @speedyp99 thers lots of types of reggae ska was the early form dat led to reggae roots rocksteady dancehall and so on

  • @MrGreg187 which proves my point there are many types but they started with one and that one progressed into many. Jungle first others followed. It neither gives higher status or claims to greatness it just sets a timeline which shows its evolution.

  • @speedyp99

Jungle IS drum and bass. It's a different style or form. The same way dubstep is a different form of garage, but it still garage. I would argue that Jungle CREATED drum and bass, thus in turn jungle became drum and bass. Either way I fucking love it. Listened to it for 15 years and never going to stop! DnB for Life! :) Peace.

  • @djvertical Just too correct you sorry but dubstep is not a different form of Garage.......I think you may find that Dubstep was created from Drum & Bass by slowing it down

  • @Richardcld

Ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha! I think you'll find your wrong, so, so wrong, I don't even know where to start! I'd probably go learn some music theory and history, before trying to 'correct' people... Unless your statement

is in jest, then it's pretty funny! :)

  • @Richardcld No mate, i think you'll find Dubstep came from garage!!!

  • @speedyp99

I will second that, Jungle came first. Pre-dated by Dn'B, but before that happy hardcore.

  • @speedyp99 YES MAN BIG UP ALL OLD SKOOL JUNGALIST

  • Comment removed

  • @speedyp99 I dont know the whole history but I do know a good tune from a bad one! n this is a good tune, thus it brings me back to old school music, that I love! this tune is (for me) just Epic and the turns in beat are sick. May I stand corrected maybe but I do know a little about music (what is good n not) but I dont follow in depths about who has made who and so on... so far this tune RIPS! Alas, just enjoy ppl who like it and those who dont...it dont matter, search another tune! Peace out!

  • @speedyp99

Jungle is a style of drum and bass, same as tear out, jump up, drumstep, liquid, techstep...

  • @djvertical jungle cam first.... tear out breaks ftmfw!!!
