ITS JUST A LITTLE BABY CONCERTO a small handfull of themes strung together into 13 minutes of awesomeness, This work is the equivalent to being hit over the head with a bottle of vodka.
I question the importance of when a composer starts composing great works. I find the chase for outstanding performance at an early age rather silly. Mozart syndrome, I suppose.
Dang......Richter understands Prokofiev, and he is also from Russia like Prokofiev too.......the beginning of this movement, he plays it soooo scary....I LOVE IT~!!!!
This is the most intelligent rendition of this movement that I have heard so far. Richter left portions of his technical power in reserve. Only using it in certain passages of this very lyrical rendition. Argerich was too high tempered in several recordings that she has made of this same piece
@slothvader Don't yawn at me foo I'm yo daddy and Im saying that you cant listen to any more Ravel unless you wanna get bashed in the head by another vodka bottle. Me and your mother are going on a double date with Prokofiev and Richter ( we call them Richtofiev ;) there inseperable ;)) You better not stay up past your bedtime otherwise were all going to rape you.

dang...that is still, for me, at least, perhaps the definitive performance of the prok 1.
imagine writing that while you're still in school. only prokofiev and ravel were so gifted among the moderns, that i can think of.
i'm sure some here can further my education.

...Shostakovich, 1st sym....written at the age of 19, while still in school...blows me away each time i listen to it!

@slothvader Yeah Ravel sucks, so that only leaves Prokoviev, how is that for furthering your education??
