We've started a TEFL social network where we are trying to build a community of TEFL teachers around the world to meet and share experiences and tips. If anyone is interested take a look at tefl-me.com. It covers lots of areas and has a blog, forum groups individual profiles and a map to indicate your location in the world to help you meet other TEFL teacher when you are on the other side of the world.
@maym86 iv'e typed this so many times with not much feeedback...i am planning to go to prague to obtain my tefl certificate. my questions are, is the program difficult? do you have any control on where you end up afterward the course? (i really dont want to be in thailand or argentina) and how much money am i looking at bringing with me? also i have no previous teaching experience
@uzavas I would recommend going here tefl-me.com and post the question in the forum as there are a large group of TEFL teachers who visit the forum. The TEFL course can be difficult and you will have to work hard but it is achievable. You do get to pick where you go but some places are more competitive than others. I think that it's worth a having some money £5000 or £1000 just in case but you will get your flight refunded and get paid well. You don't need previous experience.
How about a network of people scammed by TEFL ?
