Consider that Bush's deficit spending was for tax cuts and the Iraq War (temporary) while Obama's is for stimulus/development (semi-permanent).

Look at history. Our entire national debt comes from Republicans. Take out 700 billion that was accumulated before 1980 and all 10 trillion of it belongs to Ronald Reagan, George Bush Sr. and Baby Bush. I am still looking for the fiscal conservative that republicans keep talking about.
It's a sad reality that the way Congress is constructed it's almost impossible to reduce spending. Cutting spending is hard, raising or lowering taxes is easy, and borrowing money is easy. Party A claims they'll INCREASE taxes and cut spending to balance the budget, and party B claims they'll REDUCE taxes and cut spending to balance the budget. Given that it's impossible to cut spending, which party will bankrupt the country faster?
Obama "spent" that money to clean up Bush's mess. On the way out, Bush STOLE almost $800 billion and just gave it away to bankers, with no oversight and no strings attached. 8 years of screwing things up, and he left with that.
Now Obama comes in and has to ask for more to fix the problem, and people are still pissed off about what Bush did.
I'm amazed that people can't see the difference between Bush's blatant abuse of the system, and Obama's sincere attempts of dealing with the problems.

It's a sad reality that the way Congress is constructed it's almost impossible to reduce spending. Cutting spending is hard, raising or lowering taxes is easy, and borrowing money is easy. Party A claims they'll INCREASE taxes and cut spending to balance the budget, and party B claims they'll REDUCE taxes and cut spending to balance the budget. Given that it's impossible to cut spending, which party will bankrupt the country faster?

Obama "spent" that money to clean up Bush's mess. On the way out, Bush STOLE almost $800 billion and just gave it away to bankers, with no oversight and no strings attached. 8 years of screwing things up, and he left with that.
