@km1735 the song is based off of a Hemingway story wherein a couple debates over a casual cocktail as to whether or not the woman will get an abortion for her unwanted pregnancy. the "hills like white elephants" are a visual symbolism. the hills look like white elephants in the spanish countryside where the story is set. and the image curiously conjures up also the image of a fetus. thom is talking about not "letting this happen to his children," refering to the white elephants themselves

Prrrooobably just because it's a hollow body. Hollow body guitar's produce a more acoustic sound then normal electric guitars like Fender Squire's or whatever. I don't think there's some hidden meaning behind it or anything...

I don't know if you've ever noticed how many guitars some professional musicians own. Some have quite a few, AND, some guitar companies make more than one copy of each model. If you take these things into account, it could mean that he has his own guitar, and this is it. Albeit maybe the same as one of the other members' instruments.

I think the live version lost alot of power. The thing that drew me to it was the haunting choir-like vocals. Thom is a good musician and all but I give more credit to Jonny Greenwood, that guy adds such a unique sound to Radiohead. Personally I like it better with the multiple voice parts.
