Most of us make poor mental decisions under pressure. It's evident that Kuo could have missed the 9 altogether, and placed the cue ball behind the 7 instead of the 6 - he must have been afraid of the worst case scenario, in which he would have brushed the 6 with the cue ball, so that neither 6 nor 7 would have served as blockers. And that's where mental toughness comes in: one may miss (execute poorly), but should never allow oneself to be guided by fear, but only by what one wants to do!
I would totally agree haha. He was unfotunate that it touched the 9-ball, if not, could be perfect safety. I think it's common to be nervous when playing at that lvl with a good player.

well.. even after it hitted the 9 it seemed to me it would hit the wall! But at their levels I guess it was a poor shot..
