Never heard this one before now, I feel like it is a fine work in deed but not up to the blue album. Just my lowly opinion is all. Every song on the blue album touches me deeply even to this day over all these many years. The blue album is musically brutal, and equally beautiful and gentle as well. The blue album is everything just the way it is
I have both A M albums (vinyl of coarse),big fan, great material.Does anyone know why the lineup from the '76 album changed ? Gone were Michael Shrieve (drummer ; also of note- Shrieve had also been drummer for Carlos Santana) replaced by Glenn Symmonds, and Doni Harvey (bassist),replaced by Jerome Rimson. Both albums (Automatic Man & Visitors) were fantastic.
Superb track. I grew up with this and a friend of mine had the single and the two albums. He very kindly put them onto disc for me. Great musicianship, love the percussion. A great pity i agree that it didn't make the album.
...why oh why were they not a bigger name in music...simply superb song writing and musianship....this track is new to me, like so much on You Tube...thankyou so much for uploading this....
I m the co-producer of the Automatic Man project. Thanks for uploading this track. This track is truly a gem, that could not make it onto the LP. So happy to see there are still so many fans who love this music so many years later. Thank you on behalf of myself and the band for showing the love and appreciation. Automatic Man rocks more than ever. Peace & Blessings...
@loutones: do you have ANY idea why this wasn't included in the Lemon release? Now that I've heard it, I'm extremely bummed out; it's as good as anything on the entire album.....the accents remind me a LOT of Ben Mink's band FM.....
@ogam5 It wasn't included because the Lemon cds are just vniyl rips and it's highly unlikely they would have access to this rare single or even care about finding it.
@loutones Thanks for the comment, Lou. Going to be playing a few AM songs with my band soon. Will be interesting to hear this with a black 'female' singer, yes? This is the only way to get this music out there! Would be nice ot see a reunion of this line up, but I don't think it's going to happen. Do you know of any other songs that were not released, or live recordings?
Wow......never heard this...totally killer. Thanks for posting. This should have been used as a bonus track for the CD. Same great production as the album. What a unique band with unequalled chemistry and energy!
Wow! great tune. I have both automatic man albums on vinyl then on cds. 1st time I heard this, thanks. I wish they would release this one with some other never before released stuff... I buy it in a NY minute!
awesome, thanks for posting this.

Pat Thrall on guitar is awesome. I still play my original blue LP, and friends ask me what is that? I tell em it's over 40 years old.....

As much as i like this album, this song is clearly better than some of the weak lp tracks like ''newspapers

The lineup changed because the album did not sell, they had problems getting their sound live, internal squabbles.

I like that this song is so intriguing and there is no need to put a label on it
