Oh, I didn't realize you couldn't be next to the camera... And more than the night shot, I was thinking more on the day shot firings. Expansive wave in TRUE slow-mo would be neat...
I intended to do so, but I couldn't combine the "night fireworks" setting with the slow motion feature. I didn't want to take the chance of not having a bright enough shot. In the end, it was better to have both the real time and slow motion for contrast. Also the slow motion file would have been tremendously large since I had to set up the camera and then get out of the firing area, as well as the fuse didn't light a few times. I will do it when i get another chance!
America was created through the judicious use of cannon fire. Nothing is more patriotic than showing your patriotism than celebrating that fact. Too bad your neighbors don't love your country as much as you do. Fire away.
Infrared looks greenish and has no color, I used night "Fireworks" low light filter. I have some video that was shot in almost complete darkness, I'll try to dig it up and post it.
I will also do some slow motion work in the next few days.
this is a great camera, I keep finding new things to do with it that just blow your mind!
awesome in slow motion

You should use the Smooth Slow Record feature from your camera! Would make a slow-mo cannon shooting REALLY cool!

I love shooting my cannons but sometimes I get the feeling my neighbors don't like it as much as I do.

This has inferred for night shot right? If you have time could you do something with it, maybe some of the other video effects the camera has?
I can't afford it (yet!), so next best thing is watching it in use. LOL
